    posted a message on Jungle Ruins Resource Pack

    Thanks a bunch, Kyctarniq.

    I started a new 1.9 world and I ended up in the jungle. I figured...might as well be extra jungle-y with this texture pack. :D

    posted a message on The Eldpack Unofficial Continuation Project [1.11][16x][CTM][Partial Aether]

    Eldpack is one of my favorite texture packs that I liked to follow throughout the year! I'm glad to see that continuation is keeping this alive.

    posted a message on Shield Model 1.9

    Someone told me how it works!

    You have to rename "shield.json" to "shield_normal.json" and add a new "shield.json".

    Inside that json you have to put this text:

    "parent": "item/shield_normal",
    "overrides": [
    "predicate": {
    "blocking": 1
    "model": "item/shield_blocking"

    I was having the same issue with my custom shield model wherein the shield wouldn't actually move when my avatar was blocking.

    I used your suggested method above and it fixed it.

    However, I am encountering a new issue. When blocking, the shield texture transforms into the vanilla model texture (it doesn't stay as my texture). To what model is the new "shield.json" referring to? Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this?

    Edit: Nevermind, I figured out what I was doing wrong. I was missing the "shield_base_nopattern.png" file. Now everything is working fine. I've a spiffy new shield now.

    Also, have you migrated your Minecraft account to a Mojang one? This gives a small, extra layer of security. As you log in with your email rather than your username.

    posted a message on Dokucraft, The Saga Continues.

    The armors have a bit of an samurai flair to them (I think it's the slanted pauldrons that does it). Personally, I always equate "Dwarven" to Norse looking stuff.

    Just my opinion.

    In either case, they do look great. There's a wonderful amount of detail; I really like how the trim looks.

    Those boats are adorable!

    I love the detail in them, especially the one with the log surface in the middle.

    Wow, Meringue, you're on a roll!

    I've been a follower of your pack for awhile now. I really like how bright and cheery it is without being too cartoon-y.

    I absolutely adore the shading on things like your doors and the stone bricks.

    Really great.

    posted a message on [16x] Lord Trilobite's Norsecraft

    Awesome, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing this pack brought up to date.

    Like Alvoria mentioned, it was (is!) one of the great packs from early Minecraft and I always was a bit sad when I remembered NorseCraft existed and then promptly remembered that it wasn't really being updated.

    Maybe I'll give this resource pack a spin and not just for old time's sake!

    posted a message on CUBE WORLD 3D Resourcepack 1.9 [DOWNLOAD]

    When I first saw that this was a CW resource pack, I admit I was a bit dubious!

    But it's always a really great surprise when you enter a thread and you're wrong. I have never played Cube World but I have watched Let's Players that did. I have to say that it is very evocative of the game and I think it's a really great idea to try to adapt CW's aesthetics to Minecraft. They seem to go hand and hand well enough as seen by this pack.

    I really like the use of the 3D models; very well done. I am aware that this is a pack based on Cube World and their textures are pretty much bucketfills (not that that's a bad thing in this case. For once) but I can't help but miss the sort of depth that shading and details can bring to a texture.
