The pack needs to be heavily redone for the new garbage 1.6.2 format and the new mobs need to be textured. I have lots of things going on right now so do not expect the update anytime soon. I said I would update it not that I would have it done on the update. if you are interested in doing it yourself just put the proper credits which I have neglected to do. The main workers so far by forum names
wild8900 - original designer alpha 1.2 - alpha 1.2.6
MegaManTrigger - reviver beta 1.1- beta 1.2
DarkDemonWolf76 - reviver for beta 1.4 - Release 1.4.5
spoonikle - GUI fixs and minor block corrections in beta 1.4 release
A list of more names in detail should be here, but I am sorry to say that, the original is not know by me.
The 1.4.5 release will remain available for download. The sounds however will be removed as they no longer work with minecraft in their current format. The pack is not converted nor updated so download it to use with an older version of minecraft or to help update faster then I can at this time. Thank you for your understanding and please do enjoy what work I did manage to put into this pack along with all the others even those I have failed to name :c

That's because you bumped a year-old topic and expected the information to still be relevant. Silly you.Quote from twaal22
I can't find my terrain AND .png it is definitely not in any folders or in the .jar, I checked like 10 times everywhere
The terrain.png and items.png files are no longer used by Minecraft, and have been removed. These files have been separated into individual tiles and are in the /textures/ folder, specifically in the /blocks/ and /items/ sub-folders respectively.
In the future, please check the dates on threads before posting. Thank you. -

insomniac_lemon posted a message on Need feedback for VTC!Wow, it's been a year since I made this thread! If you know about my pack, you probably know it had a rough start. I'm still working on improving it so hopefully it has a better reception.Posted in: Resource Pack Discussion
Currently, it's doing good at PMC, however, it is not the type of audience to give much feedback. It's doing alright on Curse, but nobody comments at all there.
So, that's it, I need feedback! I've improved a lot on this (the images below are constrained a bit on color, but you get the idea), and am still making progress. Some things I just need a little reminder on and I'll get to it eventually. Other things I'm either stumped on what to do at all, or I don't know how to make it as "natural" looking as I'd like to.
Finally:
Now:

Now on Curse!
So please, download the pack and drop a comment here. I'd appreciate any feedback. -

Please use the texture pack converter in the main menu. It will do everything Mojang's unstitcher.jar does plus convert all MCPatcher-related files to the new format. It also does a few things unstitcher.jar forgot, like move the sun and moon textures to the environment/ folder.
Also, the converter is a work in progress so it is important to keep a copy of your unconverted texture pack file. I will be updating this utility in future releases, and you'll want to run the original, unconverted pack through it again for best results.
Changes in 3.0.2:- Handle Mojang's ninja-update to 1.5.
- Updated for 1.5
- After repeated changes to the core texture handling classes, I decided to drop support for earlier 1.5 snapshots. This version supports 13w09b and newer.
- Fixed CTM issues with rotated logs.
- Biome- and height- based CTM rules. Similar to Random Mobs, use the "biomes" "minHeight" and "maxHeight" properties.
- Fixed crash on Customize World screen.
- Parse .txt files for CTM animations.
- Changed the converter to output .txt files for all animations, since they are now required.
- New option to set Java direct memory size, which is separate from Java heap memory. Specifying a value is equivalent to setting the -XX:MaxDirectMemorySize flag. Only affects the Test Minecraft button.
- Fixed off-by-one error when CTM tile list is not specified.
- Fixed crash when "detect texture pack changes" is enabled.
- Fixed location of potato and potatoBaked textures during conversion.
- Fixed bilinear filtering being incorrectly applied to other textures.
- A CTM rule can now act on the output of another CTM rule. For example, you can have randomized horizontally-connected bookshelves:
- Enhanced custom compass to support an arbitrary number of texture layers. The same functionality can be used to create a custom clock texture with separate hour and minute hands. See this sample texture pack. Run the converter again to convert your old custom compass, or just use this /misc/compass.properties:
- Removed 2D item rendering fix made redundant by 13w05a.
- New CTM property, innerSeams=true to control how blocks connect in inside corners. See this post for an illustration.
- Made the warning for patching an already-modded minecraft.jar a little harder to ignore.
# Main top-level bookshelf CTM /ctm/bookshelf/block47.properties: method=horizontal tiles=0-3 # One additional CTM matching each output tile of the previous CTM # Tiles 4.png and 5.png will be used in place of 0.png, etc. /ctm/bookshelf/book0.properties: matchTiles=/ctm/bookshelf/0.png method=random tiles=4 5 /ctm/bookshelf/book1.properties: matchTiles=/ctm/bookshelf/1.png method=random tiles=6 7 /ctm/bookshelf/book2.properties: matchTiles=/ctm/bookshelf/2.png method=random tiles=8 9 /ctm/bookshelf/book3.properties: matchTiles=/ctm/bookshelf/3.png method=random tiles=10 11
source.0=/textures/items/compass.png source.1=/misc/compass_dial.png scaleX.1=1.0 scaleY.1=0.5 rotationSpeed.1=1 rotationOffset.1=180 # optional third layer source.2=/misc/compass_overlay.png
- New CTM format as described here. The easiest thing to do is run your old (1.4.7) texture pack using the converter again. However, if you have made changes to your pack in the beta3 format and need to keep them, you can convert manually by moving each /ctm/xxx.properties file into the /ctm/xxx/ folder. (There should be nothing but folders directly under /ctm.)
- Fixed rendering bug with ender and single chests.
- Fixed CTM orientation so that quartz columns connect properly using method=vertical. Log blocks should be unaffected by this, but check and make sure.
- Some fixes for folder-based texture packs.
- Output .properties using native line endings so that Notepad can display them correctly.
- Prevent potential NullPointerExceptions when running the converter.
- Iron bars rendering bug fixed.
- Fixed a few vanilla blocks not being unstitched by the converter.
- CTM textures are split up to match terrain and items. Use the converter again to convert your pack to the new format. It attempts to convert CTM animations as well, but some may have to be fixed manually. Again, keep your unconverted pack because the format may change again.
- Custom compass is back. It uses /textures/items/compass.png as the base texture and /misc/compass_needle.png and /misc/compass_overlay.png for the needle and overlay.
- There is experimental code to work around the 4k texture limit for CTM textures. There are three settings in the options tab: Never create new tilesheets (just skip the extra textures instead), Create new tilesheets as needed, and Always create tilesheets.
- The option "Debug CTM textures" will show what CTM texture is being rendered.
- Better Grass is back as a CTM feature. It is off by default. Go into the Options tab under Connected Textures to enable it.
- Mipmapping is functional again, also disabled by default. I recommend setting LOD bias to -1 or lower.
- Fixed the problem with the converter generating corrupt zip files.
- A major vanilla performance bottleneck in animated textures was fixed. Performance should be on par with 1.4.7 again.
- CTM is applied to held blocks and dropped block entities in the world.
- The convert utility only works on .zip texture packs. Folder texture packs are not supported.
- The Java API for writing your own bytecode patches is in a state of flux. I am taking this opportunity to do some reorganizing of the code, and the API will change to reflect that. As 1.5 nears release, I will update the code on bitbucket.
- Animations are done two ways. The new Mojang way with .txt files for terrain and items, and the old MCPatcher way using .properties for other textures. I know this is confusing, but Mojang's limited .txt format doesn't allow for the extra information that other animations need. The converter automatically converts all terrain/item animations to the .txt format and moves the files properly for you.

insomniac_lemon posted a message on Vivid Torrential Changes, Discontinued 13w25c (Compatibility Update)This texture pack has been officially discontinued. This means that new textures and changes will not be released. However, the pack is still downloadable, still being worked on, and will still be updated (with game textures) to the newest version of Minecraft, usually not too long after snapshots have been released. If you are interested, the spoiler below contains all of the old information, including the download. However, note that because of the discontinuation, none of the documentation besides the title will be updated. You will have to look at the title or download the pack to see if it is updated.Posted in: Resource Packs
Vivid Torrential Changes
This texture pack's driving force behind it is ideas. Ideas that are more true to life, make more sense with crafting recipes, or are just cool.
The pack itself is meant to be vibrant, and with palettes per-group of textures instead of as a whole. The textures are smooth and done in a loose pixel art style.
It is not done yet, but is perfect if you want a texture pack that looks good so far, but is still improving, and has somewhere to go. My goal is to modify every texture in the game, and I'm not too far from reaching that goal.
If you enjoy the pack, please comment on what you'd like changed.
Goto download.
Newest screens:
(from the last update) Now includes Natural textures mod support for Optifine! Make sure to turn the option on if you're using Optifine (and others options off, see below).

MCpatcher information:
Similar pack results as using Optifine except it has CTMed glass instead of natural textures.
If you do use this, you might notice a lifeless, ugly water and lava with them. This is not intended.
Repatch with water and lava animations set to DEFAULT
CTM Set to ON.
Optifine information:
Similar pack results as MCpatcher except it has natural textures instead of CTMed glass.
If you do use this, you might notice a lifeless, ugly water and lava with them. This is not intended.
Change water and lava animation settings to DYNAMIC
Turn CTM option to FANCY
Vanilla information:
VTC does not require MCpatcher or Optifine to work properly!
The water and lava animations will work without changing you configuration, either!

Misc. related:
Special thanks:
I would like to thank Dyz-69 for 2 awesome videos! I love watching his reviews, and I have watched the reviews he has done for me quite a few times. He has definitely helped me improve this pack, and improve as an artist!
Turek and Balduran for giving me large amounts of feedback no one else would. The pack has improved greatly because of them.
Darklight10 for giving me feedback and donating. A kind act that occurred when the pack was nowhere near the quality or scope of what it is now, it has been a motivation for me to keep working on the pack when at times the outlook of it looks bleak.
Rbailey5 for PM'ing me with suggestions on how to make things look better, saying what was good, and also telling me that you can log in and use imgur using your Google account to log in!
Anyone who actually took the time to post on the thread and said what they think!
SUPPORT:
Sig it!

Monetary support!
If you enjoy the pack, please even a small amount of money.
If I get a little money by donation I will be able start my own personal website.
Keep in mind that the website would also include content on the texture pack,
such as a permanent change log, more information on textures, development previews,
and maybe even videos of me working on the pack.
It will also allow me branch myself, able to state my thoughts, and maybe even create a fan base,
and make the framework for my future company!
If you like the pack, and have a paypal account, please donate!

Reasoning for discontinuation
I discontinued this pack because it was very unpopular. I got 500 downloads in one year, nearly all of the downloads from the last 6 months. Even still, I only got comments on it every so months, and generally not much of it was actual feedback.
Even as the pack progressed, popularity and number of actual users did not seem to increase. I know this is my fault, because I released the pack too early in production, and did a very poor job of "selling" the pack on this thread, because I did not have good enough visual media, and I did not actually show/talk about the the large amount of features that actually make this pack great.
I also failed to keep up-to-date images on this thread, as I released it early, and I was improving it so much that I would constantly need to update the screenshots which was a hassle.
Future of the pack
Now that I have recognized the problem, I know what to do. I am continuing work on the pack, and will not release it until it is 100% new textures, meaning no vanilla textures or ones that I made early on for the pack, so I can give the pack the release it deserves. I will do all of the things I have wanted to do for the pack, including all of the paintings being redone, and alien villagers.
I might add more mod support (such as random mobs, more CTM, or even support for fantasy mods such as Thaumcraft).
I might make multiple versions of the pack (besides the normal version) such as a barebones version of the pack, meant to run on lower-end computers such as netbooks with no mod files included and no partial transparency in images, and possibly an extended version with double resolution mobs and more mod support.
What you can do to help
If you like this pack, and have feedback in its current state, please PM your feedback. Most of the feedback I received about the pack was from Balduran, Turek, and Darklight10, all who I had PM conversations with basically on what they thought of the pack and how I could potentially improve it.
Most of the feedback I received from Turek, however, he has stepped down from it due to technical problems. If you would like to fill the role of helping me improve the pack, are active on the forums, possibly have texturing experience (so you know what you're talking about), and like the pack, please PM me!
Get notified about the release of the redux version of this pack
When the pack is 100% not vanilla (everything!) and older textures have been redone, and I have made images for the thread, it will get a new topic in the texture packs section (and this one will be hidden).
At that time, I will notify anyone following this topic of what has occurred. If you would like to be notified when the new thread is posted, please follow this topic.

appleslinky posted a message on In-Depth Texture Pack Reviews! [NOT ACCEPTING NEW APPLICATIONS]Posted in: Resource Pack DiscussionDUE TO THE EXCESSIVE WAITING LIST, I AM CLOSING APPLICATIONS FOR NOW. SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.Quote from »UPDATE:I am currently just entering my final year of school, and am extremely busy with assignments and study. I don't currently have many opportunities to practice my Photoshop or update my texture pack, let along do texture pack reviews. I will do some when I have the time, but know that they will be few and far between. I am so terribly sorry.
Hello everyone! Appleslinky here, presenting to you all the opportunity to have your texture pack reviewed in an in-depth video review, uploaded straight to Youtube! These will, obviously, be HD video reviews, voiced by myself, and will attempt to cover most blocks whilst keeping under 15 minutes!
*holds for applause*
Okay, now here is what will happen on my channel. Every Saturday I upload a new adventure map playthrough, and every Sunday a texture review. If I don't have any adventure map uploads to put in Saturday, a texture review will take its place. (Once I finish my current playthrough I'm going to upload texture reviews every Saturday and Sunday until the list is shortened a bit). Sorry if you have to wait a while for the review, my sincerest apologies.
THE REVIEWS WILL BE POSTED HERE: Slinkycraft Youtube Channel!

reschs posted a message on [1.4.2]Multishot Mod[v2.2]Posted in: Minecraft ModsMULTISHOT TIMELAPSE MODMultishot is a tool for creating timelapses and stop motions in Minecraft automatically even if Minecraft is minimized. It removes the need to record timelapses with a screen recorder, which leaves you with large video files that take large periods of time to speed up and render. It acts just like an intervalometer does for a camera allowing players to record and timelapse anything in the game.
It works by automatically taking screenshots at a predefined exposure (default 1 second). These screenshots can then be 'sped up' as an image sequence and played back like a normal video. The mod also includes an auto motion feature that automatically moves and/or rotates the player in any direction allowing for more entertaining and engaging timelapses.

Current v2.2 for 1.4.2: Download
*Make sure you've read the faq, making a time-lapse and protips sections before posting problems.
Protips- Also try PanoramaKit!
- Also try Camera Studio!
- Read the making a timelapse section for instructions on how to use
- Watch the videos above for a solution to single player timelapses
- Screenshots will NOT be taken if exposure if off.
- M turns multishot on/off.
- N turns motion on/off.
- L displays settings screen.
- Use motion for better timelapses!
- Simple explanation of Link Removed.
- To use just look at what you want to timelapse and turn multishot on.
- Compatible with ModLoader!
- Install multishot BEFORE using any HD texture patcher!
- Don't send me support related private messages, use the thread.
- This mod works on both singleplayer and multiplayer.
- Before installing SHUT DOWN MINECRAFT.
- Multishots by default are saved to /minecraft/multishots/.
- If you make a timelapse and want to share it post the video link in the thread.
Before you jump straight into time-lapsing, some thought needs to go into setting the exposure value. Short intervals give a smoother resulting video and are generally used for things with fast rates of change. Long intervals give a more jolty output for fast moving objects but work well with slow changing objects. To change the exposure value open the options menu by pressing 'L'.
Here are some example intervals
0.5 - 1 second
fast paced builds with lots going on, cloud movement
1 – 3 seconds
sun/moon movement, slower moving builds
3 – 7 seconds
very slow builds
7 - 10 seconds
grass growing, server growth time-lapses
Programs for compiling images:
-Photolapse 3
-Time-lapse Assembler
-Apple Quicktime 7 Pro
-Adobe Lightroom
-Apple Final Cut Pro X
-Windows Movie Maker (not recommended)
-ImageJ
Quicktime 7 PRO

2) File>Open image sequence
3) Locate the folder your screenshots are in (default is /multishots)
4) Click on the first screenshot of the set and hit OPEN
5) This brings up a window asking how many frames per second (fps) you want the video to be displayed at (23.976fps or 24fps work the best)
6) This will open your timelapse as a video
7) File>Export>Movie to Quicktime Movie>Options
8) In settings set compression type as h.264
9) In size set dimensions to HD 1280 x 720 16:9 and preserve aspect ratio to crop
10) Hit ok and save
11) You now have a video file of the timelapse

Installing HD texture packs
Note: for all those complaining that MCPatcher is incompatible or that they can't get HD texture packs to work, it has been successfully tested for Minecraft 1.2.5. IF IT DOESN'T WORK, YOUR DOING IT WRONG!
1. Install multishot exactly as the instructions above state.
2. Put your HD texture pack .zip file into the texture packs folder.
3. Open MCPatcher and hit patch.
4. Hit "test minecraft" in MCPatcher.
5. If it doesn't work after the first patch then patch it again.
If you've followed these instructions exactly (AND I MEAN EXACTLY) and yet it still doesn't work use optifine.

It would be nice if it would allow you to ask it multiple times: Maybe you can put your code in in while loop, then first compare the input to "exit" and quit the program if they match or continue comparing it to all the block names, otherwise.
Also I would make it case-insensitive and add all the blocks, then you'd have a nice extended version...
