If you are on a singleplayer world, you could use mcedit.

Never used mcedit so I'd need to get familiar with it. It's easier for me to just recreate the spell on the inscription table and make it and then delete the items from my inventory.

Still, couldn't hurt to look at mcedit anyway. I've a feeling this essence-fed-spell-creation is never going to work for me.

I believe the range on connecting nexi to anything else is 10 blocks. You either need to move one thing closer to the other or (the easier way) set up a conduit between them. Using the second option, you will connect the nexus to the conduit, then the conduit to the altar.

Hey, thanks for the suggestion. I tried putting a conduit at the mid-point between the two structures.

Sadly, it is still now working for me. The nexus continues to try to power a calefactor with nothing in it (unless I remove it... which I did) and it refuses to link to the altar (tried linking to both the conduit and then the altar block and to just the altar block alone).

Unless there are other options, I guess I'll just resort to cheating the spell in and trashing the items required for it. I hate doing that. I can't (well... "won't" is more appropriate) move these structures.

Can somebody please help me? I am trying to craft a spell that requires 1000 Light Essence. This is the first time I have had to use essence.

I have my working crafting altar and a light nexus set up. The center of the nexus is exactly 13 blocks to one side and 6 blocks below the crafting altar block (in other words, it's not that far). The light nexus has about 1500 essence at this moment (maybe 1400).

I used the crystal wrench to try to link the nexus to the altar. Mind you, I have linked the nexus previously to a calefactor so I understand the basic actions required. (And the calefactor worked this way, so did an Essence Refiner -- also, the spell altar has been previously used to create 4 other spells)

I right-click on the center of the nexus to start linking mode. White light shoots up. I move to the crafting altar and right-click the crafting altar block (not any other part of the structure) and...

... absolutely nothing happens. The white light remains at the nexus. I pull the lever to request power and nothing happens. The spell specifically asks for 1000 light essence but I tried with a neutral nexus too (and of course nothing happened).

    What am I doing wrong?

Does the nexus have to be on the same level as the base of the altar? Does it have to be on a certain side? Does it have to be within a certain number of blocks? Am I right-clicking the correct part of the structure to try to link it?

Is there any way to disable the creepers in the nether? (I have both TC and Natura... I expect the creepers are added by Natura so I came here - if I'm on the wrong board and somebody still knows the answer, I would love to hear that answer even if I'm in the wrong place)

I still want the mobs down there, just not these red creepers. Tried digging through the config but didn't see anything about disabling mobs. Only other option is to go peaceful and if I don't have to do that, I don't want to.

    edit:

well, I just searched this thread and found out that plenty of people have asked the same question but there is no answer so I'm guessing the author wants these forced on us. It's just weird since everything else is configurable except for this.

Wait... from what I've been reading, this mod isn't going to be updated to the newest version of Minecraft?

Wth am I going to do without my Thermal Expansion machines? I use the powered furnace, pulverizer, induction smelter, and all the other ThE machines.

    :sigh:

Never going to get to enjoy 1.6.* or 1.7 because of my reliance on so many mods that won't update. argh

posted a message on [1.6.X] Portal Gun - Reconstructed [v1] - Rewritten... again.
I set the portal gun and portal spawner recipes to easy mode in the config file but the portal spawners are still requiring mini black holes (or whatever it is that uses nether stars) rather than ender pearls. I assume that the single line there is for both since it was the only line in the config file. I am on Minecraft 1.5.2 using the latest available portal gun mod from the download site.

Jeweled Apples cost too much. Considering that a golden apple requires only gold nuggets (just under 1 full gold ingot) it sure does seem like a little too much for Jeweled Apples. Even from a "balance" perspective, it's just too darned much. Already, I use a custom recipes mod to switch those diamonds for diamond shards. It would be nice if there was an 'official' cheaper recipe.

It would be nice if the custom weapons could be displayed in Item Frames correctly.

(and as a bonus, also display correctly on Biblicraft weapon racks... but separate mods so no big deal; item frames are more important to me)

    Custom armor?

Noted that Nitro Creepers were moved from TC to Natura. Please add the configuration option to disable them in Natura (that option was available in the past but is not today).

This is the line you're looking for in the config to disable the Nitro Creepers:
    B:"Activate Nitro Creeper Spawns"=true

Yeah, I can't find that anywhere in either Natura.txt or TinkersWorkshop.txt. I can configure how many heat spiders spawn on death of mommy, but there's nothing there for Creepers. Dammit this sucks. I'm on 1.5.2, not using any modpacks. Downloaded this and Natura just a couple nights ago.

How do I disable the Nether mobs? To the haters: not everybody has the same idea of fun. Red creepers are not my idea of fun. I want them disabled. Deal with it and stop worrying about how I want to play my game.

To the not-so-haters: is there any way to disable either 1) all of the mobs of this mod or 2) specific mobs?

I've looked through the config but there's nothing there.

There is a config. It's located in .minecraft/mods/millenaire instead of the usual location.

Oh! I see it now. Wow, that's a funky format. Still, it's got the ids I need to check so... COOL!

Thanks for pointing that out to me (I had been looking for .cfg files, not .txt files)

There's no config file so I can fix the id conflicts that this has with Buildcraft?

Is there a list somewhere of the block and item ids that this mod uses (for the Minecraft 1.5.2 version)?

AM2 will address that issue, as augmented casting will be unlocked via multiple means.

    :swoon:

Exactly what I was hoping for: multiple options.

VERY good to read this :)

    Please read this:

There IS a way to find an archmage tower.

Charm a wisp using the spell charm and follow it

I spent 8 minecraft days without success trying to find that archmage tower. After that i did a bit of researching then i FINALLY found out how to get the tower. After that it took me just 4 minecraft days to find the tower (not at all hard i don't know what all of you are talking about trying to find that one tower and beating the guardians were too easy in my opinion).

Maybe, oh, I don't know, go on an ADVENTURE to FIND NEW THINGS and maybe stumble upon a tower. I mean, you've got all these spells, might as well put them to use instead of sitting in your base or mining. In AM2, it's probably going to be quite a bit less "go find the structures out there mayne", but if you're in an infinitely generated world you should probably go out exploring from time to time. Who knows what you'll find.

    :sigh:

There is no spell, no other way I ever found, to track down that tower outside of NBTE. The *one* method that people agree on? Does not work for me. Either the spell simply doesn't cause the stupid wisp to lead me anywhere, or there are no wisps to use the spell on.

    Whatever.

Final things I need to say:

Cleary, giving us ONE method (charm a wisp) that doesn't always work (not ever, for me) to find ONE tower that spawns in a RANDOM location in a world with NO BOUNDARIES is just plain good fun for everybody.

    Cool. Enjoy.

I've found two Archmage towers without even looking for them. I find that you discover things more quickly and easily that way. And it's more fun too.

Everybody has a different idea of fun. While many people, I'm sure, agree with your idea of it, I am equally sure that the rest of us have quite a different view.

Exploration is all well and good. But hunting one tower in a world that has no boundaries? No. I explore, set up a base, hunt material as far as I need to go. I don't ever just randomly explore an entire Minecraft world because it bloats my file and my computer simply isn't awesome enough to handle beast saves. This means that I need to hunt the tower; I will never stumble across it by chance (nor have I in the last six worlds I've created).

There is no spell, no other way I ever found, to track down that tower outside of NBTE. The *one* method that people agree on? Does not work for me. Either the spell simply doesn't cause the stupid wisp to lead me anywhere, or there are no wisps to use the spell on.

I adore this mod. I can't play without it. What I CAN play without though? Is the hunt for the Archmage Tower. I would love it if there were some other solution that didn't involve cheating, but I haven't found one. This is why I hope things will change in AM2.
