    Oh... I think that might be my problem. I'm pretty sure I added AOE after Dig.

    Nitro Creepers materialize out of nowhere whenever I go to the nether. I've tried the Peaceful mode swap. The only way I can pull it off when trying to shoot down Ghasts is to wall off an arena and hope I've lit it up sufficiently so the Creepers don't spawn. That takes way more time than I have to give.

    The last time I entered the nether in Survival and stepped off onto the netherack, I saw some glow mushrooms and heat sand. I knocked 4 mushrooms down and got blown up by a nitro creeper. I figured lightning won't strike twice. But it did as I hoofed it over to the heat sand. Boom. Another nitro creeper.

    To regroup, I jumped in place and dropped some cobble under me and another f*cking nitro creeper exploded right there.

    Previous experiences were generally two nitros in a row followed by very brief periods of relative peace followed by more nitro creepers.

    It's too much.

    New page on the thread means it's time to ask the same question again since it has gone overlooked so much:

    When will we be able to disable Nitro Creepers (or any other mob from this mod)?

    I know that people will find this difficult to believe or even accept but the Nether is hard enough for me already. I don't need to be digging up soul sand, worrying about getting blasted by a Ghast, only to have a f'ng creeper come up behind me and explode instantly. It's a difficulty that is unnecessary for a player such as myself.

    Peaceful mode is not an option when I need to be hunting Nether mobs (ghasts and blazes and wither skeletons).

    I created a simple Dig spell but also added AOE to it. The spell removes only one block even on Augmented Casting mode (I had been hoping to remove many more than just the one).

    Was AOE not meant to work with utility spells like this? I haven't bothered trying to add it to anything else (it made my spell recipe quite expensive and my resources are limited right now).

    CONFIGURABLE MOBS? People have asked on this forum several times that I've seen but I have yet to see a response. I really, really need to be able to disable dryads (which requires the ability to configure mobs). At my spawn, in the desert, I have *hundreds* of dryads. They are not hostile which means I'm not going to kill them (plus... there are hundreds of them and I would break a couple of diamond swords before I got through thinning their numbers).

    Can anybody tell me which guardians (aside from fire - I can't fight that guy because Natura rapes me with Nitro Creepers that I can't disable) give red infinity orbs?

    Oh... I never thought to put those in an alchemical furnace. I've just been holding on to them for when my other sources of essentia run dry. THANK YOU for that!

    As for wisps... well... I also have Natura installed. And because mDiyo absolutely refuses to allow us to disable Nitro Creepers, I can only survive in the Nether in Peaceful mode... no wisps for me there. But I do see them plenty in the overworld so I guess I can just hunt them there. Usually I avoid them.

    Yeah. That's what I heard. I created 64 nodes and broke them all. Not a single ethereal drop with that aspect. I might have a bean or two lying around though. My patience for all that is completely gone however. And I need to take a little breather before I do something rash.

    Another thing that was pulling at the hulk-smash part of my brain is the whole business of symmetry and how it's intended to be used but some of these infusions use odd numbers so balancing is impossible.

    F it. I'll come back to it later with a cooler head.

    It's not just this. I rebuilt the altar from scratch and made sure everything was perfectly symmetrical. I repeated the thaumostatic harness infusion and it took the items, didn't complain... *but it kept taking essentia* and *doing nothing* and so I just cheated in the harness and... well... it's not helping my state of mind.

    For giggles (as in, gouge my eyes out and break all my fingers kind of giggles) I tried to get a recharging pedestal for my wands. But guess what? I can't seem to get Aurum essentia. Anywhere. It's murderingly frustrating.

    And of course there's nobody out there actually doing infusions on youtube or breaking down how to get rare essentia.

    I appreciate the answers and pointers I've gotten here but I've really just hit a wall. This mod (on top of some AM2 issues and Natura f**king nitro creepers) has pushed me beyond my limits of patience.

    Okay, so clearly, I just ­ing fail hard at this mod. Or maybe just at infusion.

    Tried to make a Thaumostatic Harness.

    20 crystal clusters. 30 tallow candles. 9 goddamned pillars with the odd one at a corner. I have around 40 mob heads. I've got all that crap around the altar, handing on walls, sitting on tables.

    Start the infusion.

    Sucked up all of my hard earned essentia (another friggin problem I have with distilling). Destroyed 3 comparators. Destroyed both my gold bars. Flooded purple crap everywhere which wiped out a bunch of my floor items.

    I give up. ­ this.

    Thanks for the feedback about my infusion problem. I ended up getting it done by placing the salis mundus all alone on one side (I've got paired pillars on each side of the altar). When I started the shard loop, I started on a different side rather than starting by placing air on the pedestal next to and on the same side as the salis.

    While I did have my entropy shard knocked off, things went as they should. Per the advice, I added a bunch of crystal clusters. Still, it sure seems some things are way, WAY too prone to instability... and us not knowing exactly how much we can mitigate through extra stuff is... vexing.

    I'll also take the additional advice and put some of them around my research table. *Any* kind of regeneration will help me.

    Was trying to infuse a silverwood wand core. Had 64 of each essentia and all required shards and the whatever the hell it's called dust (salis?).

    I have 8 pedestals at my altar and a total of 6 mob heads and 12 candles.

    I set up the salt (salis mundus or whatever the ­ it is) and each of the shards in the order they are layed out in the thaumonomicon, leaving one empty altar. I whacked the stone...

    ... and...

    The ­ing altar ate ALL my essentia, kept kicking back my water shard (creating oh-so-lovely pools of purple ­) and has just been sitting there not creating my wand core.

    What have I done wrong?

    Any help is appreciated. I'm totally lost (and thoroughly annoyed).

    I don't know anything about mana batteries yet.

    It's definitely light essence. I actually got it to work finally, but it didn't until I raised the conduit to the level of the altar. Maybe it's just gremlins. I really don't understand it. I later crafted a spell that required neutral essence and I have a blue nexus set up on another side of the altar the exact amount of blocks away as the light nexus and it worked just fine. Whatever. It works, I'm happy. And I appreciate all the suggestions!
