I wouldn't say that there's something wrong with the community. Just something that appeals to short-sighted players who love the rush of being OP instantly, usually younger ones. You're unlikely to find many mature players on those "OP Prison" servers. It's just not appealing to them. (And me as well)

Plus the MC community is huge and very diverse. One bad apple doesn't ruin the entire batch, it just gives them a bad smell lol.

But I agree and I hope that a MC counterculture shows it's face and shows people what quality looks like.

Don't worry Minecraft did popularize buying an unfinished game and then never getting a finished product.

But yeah OP, I don't like to diss people for whatever they do for fun. If you like to cosplay then go crazy.

Heed this warning however, you look like a massive dork to everyone who DOESN'T cosplay.

Not much, not much. Killing Floor 2 came out an hour ago.

I know but it doesn't matter to me. If people don't like to cosplay than they shouldn't even post anything. I have no authority to stop them for not liking it.

Stop going to my anime cons dressed up as a Hamsteak.

If you're going to to dress up as a character from a show that's only liked from inside the awful fanbase can't you choose a 2hu?

Unfortunately I have no nostalgia for Minecraft. I played it and had fun, sure. Just like with every new multiplayer game I play with my friends. But we held on and hung around under the hope that they would fix what was broken, add what they said they would and generally actually make the game worth playing, and it never happened.

I don't care about what audience they pandered towards, but we're still waiting for that Mod API, all these years later. And I'm still waiting for my damn lantern.

Exactly! Someone needs to put this somewhere in the suggestions section, to silence a large quantity of those who say "but this will be too hard too code", or that will be too hard to code! Everything has to be easy enough for the average 9 year old to code!" (No offense to those who are 9, I didn't mean all 9 year olds, just some. In fact, I just used it as an example.)

It's just weird to hear since that's their job, and it's why I'm giving them money.

Totally agree, but at least we have the modding community to fill in the gaps. People justify Mojang's minimal additions by saying that coding is hard and I'll be the first to admit that I know next to nothing about coding. What I do know is this: there are mods that have been around for years, as their authors find a way to upgrade them with each new major MC release no matter how much of the coding Mojang changes. We have Buildcraft for 1.7.10. Biomes O Plenty is almost ready for 1.8. These are not small mods. So people want to say things like "one person who makes a mod in three weeks isn't the same as a coding team fixing the game engine", I would counter with "yeah but some of those people manage to keep up with the coding team as they continuously change the game engine."

It's weird how the excuse 'coding is hard' is used for Minecraft but no other game studio ever has used that excuse.

Everything I wanted was never put it. Cooler implementations of redstone, more transportation methods like minecarts (working collision for minecarts?). More shapes than just cubes to play with. More manipulation of lighting, or more usable lighting.

Games pretty much just a meme now, like Runescape was. You play it because everyone says you gotta play it, then forget it.

well why wast your time if you dont like the game play somthing else

I do play something else, but I think you're missing the point of the thread.

    Looking at Echonite's profile

"10+ years working with computers. 2+ years of schooling for Networking. 1+ years working in the industry. I like to think I know how computers work."

The bold clearly indicates Echonite is not a teen.

Yeah and my birthday is totally 1900.

Hmm, I just want anything with more than 2 cores, that can run on my motherboard, and that can record well without the lagging. My Pentium just doesn't cut it right now with some of the games I play.

Nvidia has Geforce Experience and AMD's had MSI Afterburner that offload the encoding load onto the GPUs.

It's plenty possible to 'have fun' at your age. Just stop hanging around pricks.

That's because school is a colossal waste of time with an over inflated stress of importance.

Once you are done with highschool, take a few community college classes, let adulthood settle in, and you will realize that everything you learned was mostly a pointless and not applicable to the rest of your life. Never again will you ever need to write an MLA or APA formatted paper, read boring books, etc. The most important things you would have learned were not found in textbooks, but from the stories your teachers told about their lives.

Thanks for your insight, shortisghted angsty teen.

I was considering the 4460, I really don't justify paying an extra £40/50 for what practically is just a higher clock speed :P
