I tried to get the spores but I got sick of sifting through all of that sand so I instead went for a forestry moistener. They are really rare.

Hello again everyone! I've been silent lately because work has had me jumping all over the country. Work sent me to Tennessee, Texas, and Florida for a few days each. The last week of March work is sending me to Denmark (corporate home) and then to Sweden for a week.I'm really getting too old for this stuff and having to deal with wheelchairs on smaller airplanes sucks the fun out of everything.
I see the mod is coming along just fine and so is Ex Aliquo. Congrats on getting involved with the FTB people. Jadedcat, Morvelaira, and Slowpoke are really helpful people.
I wanted to post the following image of my automatic cobble process chain. It features Block Placers, Packagers, Auto Activators, Vacuum Hoppers and Redstone Clocks to keep everything moving along. There's probably a cleaner and more compact way of doing this, but this is what I've come up with. I even put in a way to stop the Packagers from clogging up with single items. You have to check on it once in a while because the first Vacuum Hopper has the tendency to steal items from the second.
Again, not pretty, not compact, full of issues, but it works.
Erasmus Crowley you have really made a mod to remember.

It probably would've been cheaper where redstone is concerned to use autonomous activators instead of block breakers with clocks. The difference is activators cost 2 tin, 3 iron, and 2 redstone, but a breaker/clock combo costs 3 iron and 2 redstone, which looks cheaper but the clock necessary to power it costs 5 redstone. If you've played the lategame of this mod then you know that redstone is much much more valuable than a couple of tin

Oh Crowley....*shakes my head in self shame* You have no idea how bad I feel for using this mod alongside one called Ore Dimensions. Ex Nihilo and Ore Dimensions together is so overpowered I cant even think straight. XD

    Quote from cheatfreak25

All I know is I never said that Ex Nihilo itself was overpowered.

The first post implies that ore dimensions is only overpowered to a shameful level with ex nihilo installed.

You just reinforced what I said at the end there. Im making the Ore Dimensions my end goal of Skyblock instead of going to the End, which Im not even using his version of Skyblock. Im using the Better World Generation 4's Skyblock.

The point is that the iron dimension is made of iron. It's hard not to be overpowered with that. And hammers, they take time and work to get the maximum ores. You would be better off making a TE pulverizer/powered furnace combo. It would also be faster to just mine out the iron and smelt it directly to ingots instead of going through the trouble of crafting, placing, then hammering the ore, ore gravel, and ore sand then smelting it. If you just smelted the ore gravel, you would get about 125% return instead of around 200%. So if you would normally get 64 ingots, smelting the ore gravel, which is one extra step if you just mine the ore straight with a hammer, you would get on average 64+16 iron. To get the extra approximate 48, you would do a lot of tedious placing, breaking, crafting that I don't think is too worth it if you have piles of iron ore and an entire dimension to loot from. Seriously, five minutes and some wood in that dimension without ex nihilo, you have enough iron to do pretty much anything. It's not ex nihilo that's overpowered here, as the hammering thing is for normal ore generation not 10 000 iron per chunk. Actually, if you assume that the 16x16 chunk is perfectly rectangular and has a height of 64 (the ore dimensions are rarely at that level; they're usually higher) and subtract 5 layers of bedrock, then you get 15104 iron ore from the single chunk. That's 1678 blocks of iron. That's enough to build 10 level 4 beacons. In a regular vanilla world, there are only 77 iron ore per chunk. That's not even enough to build a single tier 1 beacon.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with ex nihilo's hammer recipes, just that ore dimensions mod providing the player with enormous swathes of iron for gathering a minimum of 18 blocks of it, which is about 2.5 stacks. That sort of mod will annihilate any intended balancing in nearly any mod because the vast majority of mods are balanced off of what you would find in a regular minecraft world.

EDIT: wow that was way longer than I thought it was. Well then.

A few hammers into the Iron Ore Dimension means literally an infinite supply of Iron. And if I can automate the sieve and cobblestone generator enough to get Diamonds and such for an Enchanting Table to try for Unbreaking and Efficiency for a Hammer, then I'd be in business.

A few stone pickaxes into the iron ore dimension means literally an infinite supply of iron. I agree with crowley that the mod is overpowered without help from anything whatsoever. All hammers do extra is give you slightly more ore (somewhere around the range of doubling it).

may I ask WHY the hell my sieve BLEW UP?????

-edit- Sorry for the double post, the sieve was next to my chest that had all my stuff, and it;s gone, so I got really really ed, and didn't think to use the edit button.

I'm guessing this is the 'anti sieve automation' or whatever you call it......

lol so that's what the anti-autoclick thing does.

Google translate says it's slovak, so that's what I translated my message to.

Použil som google translate, takže to nemusí byť presné, ale myslím, že sa pýtate, ako ho stiahnuť. Je-li tomu tak, potom je väzba ~tu~

    Any ideas?

Make a grass platform in a jungle and taiga/forest biome, respectively.

    Hello,

how do you get thaumcraft nodes? is your mod bridge giving nodes or making a way to craft them?

    Thank you so much ;)

Silverwood saplings spawn with nodes. Before that, you can get essence from mobs or use the retrogen to generate nodes at the void.

Nooo you nerfed the Sieve with autoclicking protection *Dies*

It's not even a nerf, really. Just stopping people from exploiting it using autoclicking programs and processing a stack of gravel in 5 seconds.

You can always just toss a hopper on top and fill it with cobble. Never need to worry about refilling the crucible again :)

    .:Edit:.

I did something similar with composting. A little 4 high stack, Hopper on top, then barrel, then hopper and finally a chest on the bottom. Fill the top hopper with compostables, let it fill the barrel, then when the dirt is done the second hopper takes the dirt and puts it in the chest. Nearly hands free dirt production.

You could use item ducts instead, but hoppers don't require any redstone to work so that's my preference :)
Itemducts only require one lead and two tin for (I think) six of them. A hopper requires a whopping 5 iron for one hopper. And a lever next to the duct is basically free, just a bit ugly. If you don't care for aesthetics, then itemducts are amazing as a hopper substitute. Especially since they can push items upwards.

Lol. Setting aside the fact that putting water in this sieve and punching it doesn't make any sense at all, it's going to be hard to pull off, because buckets won't work with the current implementation. You have to actually be holding the water block. Which makes even less sense if you think about it...

It isn't something that I would consider seriously using as a mechanic, I just want to see what it would look like.

I'm thinking, weird as heck downright mythological lore-wise, you could do sieve snow>fish. This goes off of an age-old myth that the sky is an ocean, and when that ocean gets rough, the sky starts falling in the form of rain (or in some instances snow). If this was the case, then it's not so far fetched that there is fish up there as well.

Shift water for fish, maybe? a easier way to get them fish without fishing

Or, shift wheat to get wheat grain, add water for dough, then cook in furnace for bread.
A way to get bread with less time/farmland

The water>fish recipe should be uncommon. Like 25% maybe. And it would be cool if there was like a rare chance to get a gold nugget from it as well.

How do you know it isn't already there? Iridium is SUPER rare. I would expect the same to be true for getting Iridium with Ex Nihilo.

There's no mention of iridium in the source code. Note that this file contains all available IC2 bridges. I would suggest making the rarity 100+ for it if it is added. (I have been poking around the source code a bit)
