I can tell you that Optifine works with Timber!

How are you installing the mods?

Yeah, you're right. Ever since this new update, everything has been very disorienting. Everything works just fine now. Had to place everything into the mods folder.

Do any of you have Optifine installed? I don't think Timber is compatible with Optifine. Timber wasn't working for me until I uninstalled the Optifine mod. Trust me, I tried every combination of mods that I have, and the only mod that Timber wouldn't work with was Optifine.

That was impressive. how much time did it take you to complete?

I like the whole gardens. I havent seen a whole lot that took it that far.

Thanks! It took me a little over a month, but that's because I have a lot going on in my life, so I couldn't dedicate that much time to it daily. :P

Honestly, I see some of the creations in Minecraft and am instantly humbled before them. I've always tried to build things in MC but have always found myself lacking in skill. Recently, I wanted to try my absolute best to build something that I could be proud of. This was the result:

    Here's a video:

It's nowhere near the most amazing thing in MC, but I made it using no commands in creative mode. So, I definitely built it block by block. It's the first thing I've ever built in Minecraft that I've been proud of. I hope you guys enjoy it. If enough people request it, I'll definitely post up the world map for others to play.

Actually, that's a very good point as well, Nigel. Mods have become a huge pain to install. Mind you, this isn't the modders' faults. To install most mods now, you need Modloader and Forge. Some need ModloaderMP or something. It's getting insane!

I can't wait until installing mods becomes easier. :Pig:

When I say that something becomes more complex, I'm referring to things such as nested crafting. You know, when you need to craft several things and then merge them all into one super-specific item?

A good example would be the Laser Mod. It started with three simple lasers that were impressive and easy to understand. It now has one laser, many lenses, a new crafting table, dozens of combinations to get what you need, etc.

If anything, modders should make simple and complex versions of their mods. That would please all parties.

I've been a Minecraft user since very early on, and I must say that one of my favorite aspects about Minecraft is the wide diversity of mods that are available for download. Just about anything that a person could want as an addition to their game is available somewhere, on some website.

However, I have noticed something that's not so wonderful about these mods. Many of them are, obviously, of less-than-par quality. That's not the issue. The issue actually lies in the more amazing mods. Sometimes I'll stumble upon some video of some mod that really makes my jaw drop. However, when I go to download it, I find that the mod has become an overcomplicated, pretentious, and generally mind-boggling piece of crap.

Look, I'm not making this topic to complain and tell people how to make their mods. By all means, they're your mods, you make them the way you want to. I have no control over that. However, when a person's mod becomes popular, it's easy to see what happens. People begin to praise it, and the creator's head begins to inflate. They feel that the mod needs a load of new things that make it far too complex, incompatible with other mods, and overloaded. Just as well, I've noticed that the more popular a mod becomes, the more the creator turns into a jerk. They go from helpful members to members that say things such as "if you don't get this, you're retarded" or something along those lines. I fully understand that you can't answer to all of the questions that you're receiving, but I do feel that you should have a certain amount of respect for your less-capable fans.

    They are still your fans.

Anyway, case in short, many mods become far too complicated, and, as such, lose a lot of their initial spark. If your mod is meant to add, let's say, a gun, or several, or a plane, or a car, or some other thing (that many people wouldn't want in vanilla), try to keep it at that. If your mod adds a gun, don't start adding millions of guns that do the same thing. Don't start adding "gun blocks" or something (not that I've ever seen this before).

I'm not saying that you shouldn't expand your mod, but I am saying that you shouldn't overcomplicate it. There does come a time when you should stop adding new stuff and should just start improving the old stuff, or merely making sure that it stays updated for the new versions of Minecraft. When you notice a lot of members asking for something new, then you should start considering it.

That's just my two cents. Many a mod have been ruined by this sudden addition of hundreds of unnecessary things.

    Gold already has uses
-gold tools are now very fast
    -watches
-looks nice, especially blocks of it on portal corners.

Why is everyone ignoring this? Gold is the fastest tool in Minecraft.

Gold already has its unreal use in Minecraft, it doesn't need another. It has almost no durability, but it is the fastest tool when it comes to mining; yes, even faster than diamond.

I realise that Adventure mode is a good thing and all, but I really hate it when there are suggestions that are just "We need adventure mode" could that be added to the OP? Mod equivalent: http://adventurecraft.wikkii.com/wiki/Main_Page (Couldn't find the forum page :tongue.gif:)

I added not to suggest things that have already been approved to the topic. :tongue.gif:

I agree for the most part, but I'm developing an idea for a new dimension that is unique from the others. I don't expect to to be in the game, I'm just doing it for fun (although I wouldn't mind it in the game).

If you truly feel that it's something unique and well thought out, then by all means, post.

Topic has been updated, I await your input and suggestions. :tongue.gif:
