So far they're doing a good job with the Vanilla upgrade to the End. I'm a big Ender fan so I'm pretty pumped! Dinnerbone mentioned that there will be rewards on those Ender Cities. What could be worthy? Recycling block to get resources back? "Enchantment Siphon" to allow for ultimate enchantment sorting? A Vanilla telepad? I'm wondering what I'm going to get when I loot them! Those plants and new blocks will finally allow me to complete my Ender-themed building designs to.

I see Minecraft as both a game itself as well as a game engine. It is a primal base clay just waiting to be molded. It has a series of goals in it (the achievement system), but mod packs and Redstone mechanics can completely change what you goals are and even what is achievable. A good example of a mod pack that changes everything is Regrowth. Through a series of quests it leads you to the higher goal of regrowing the world you've awoken in and making it better. SethBling's mini-games are a good set of examples of altering the normal rules while still using an unaltered version of the game. Maybe after the upcoming Plug-in API and Modding API become official "Minecrosoft" will declare it as a game engine, but until then I'll just see it as both a game and a game engine.

I'm still hoping for a nice flying dragon mount and they are revisiting The End at least in terms of the fight. Since Wyverns are more like prehistoric dragons they might fit. Maybe like with Horses. Donkeys, and Mules Mojang could ask Dr. Zhark and his crew for help on Wyverns since they made them first?

Oct 10, 2012GlitchReaper posted a message on Tool Repair Changes?Especially high cost if you note that the current maximum spent on an Enchantment with an Enchantment Table costs 30 levels and the images have revealed 33 level costs or higher. The new experience system is easier to get to level 30, but rapidly gets tough after that. Given enough time you can always do so. Currently the Ender Dragon gives around 70 levels when e used to give over 100. I still think the Wither's 20 xp is too low. You should always be able to due a huge enchantment (or a big repair now) after a true Minecraft boss as a victory dance.Posted in: News

Oct 10, 2012GlitchReaper posted a message on Tool Repair Changes? All we need now is an "Uncrafting Table" that costs levels to remove materials from an item like in the Twilight Forest mod. Then many things become renewable because you can get some things renewable that have non-renewable components already. Need raw Diamonds to make a new Enchantment Table and Jukebox for a new base? Scavenge up some Emeralds, buy a Diamond Pickaxe from a Blacksmith Villager, then scavenge the Diamonds with an "Uncrafting Table." This would be particularly compatible with many mods that use otherwise non-renewable resources (especially Diamonds).Posted in: News

I think all of us here really missed the truly random artifacts in modern Minecraft. This is the only mod I know of that the items are randomly generated even in the Creative tab. You really never know what you're going to get! As for a simple suggestion I can say this: Currently Baubles adds additional slots compared to 1.7.10. Head (crowns, glasses, etc.), Body (cloaks, auras, etc.), and Charm. Trinket classed Baubles can go in any slot.

Beta releases eh? Currently I'm involved in planning mods and bringing in modders to a brand new Forgecraft-styled testing server. It'll be in 1.12.2 for now, but like Forgecraft it will probably evolve in versions and content over time. If you join us then you may even meet up with some modders I know that could help you upkeep and evolve TragicMC3. Shinoow, Lycanite, and Enderman_of_D00M (Titans mod creator) will be onboard. Note that while Enderman is trying to get a better computer he may wind up being typed and heard but not seen for a while.

Let me help clarify something as there seems to be some serious confusion on it: If you set the gamerule allDragonsAreFirst to true then it will cause the Ender Dragon at the Dragon Lair (and only there) to always be treated as if it was your first encounter even if revived by the ritual. Namely you will receive a Dragon Egg each time and full XP. No other approximations of the Ender Dragon are counted. End of line. <Slight Tron reference intended.

If not then you can use Sync and Cyberware to get a lot of that same groove back.

If you can't find a jar file of it left online there are several players (like me) that still have one. We can always send you a copy.

Doh! Well back to the drawing board.

I can see the Update Aquatic is going to cause a whole lot of pondering on EMC values after it finalizes. Heart of the Sea, Turtle Eggs, Kelp and so many other new base materials. it's been a while since we've had an update this massive. I'm pretty sure the last one to compare in both scale and code changes was 1.7.

Sponge is a great way to do modded servers, but it's also really new. If it's having a bad interaction with Engender it could take a while for him to figure it out.

Okay. So they're just not on the earlier full release. Thanks!

Just one little quality of mod request: Can the bosses finally get Spawn Eggs? Mob Battles that have to use summon codes all the time are so annoying.

They're big enough to fight kaiju-class monsters! Mwa ha ha!

As long as the continuation project gets the go ahead I know a modder or two that may be able to help with coding past the 1.8 barrier. Enderman_of_D00M (who made Titans and more) has been bouncing around the code continuum about as much as Captain Kirk.

Yes. By "past the Combat Update" I meant any version that's at least 1.9. Updating it to 1.8.9 would be interesting, but still not getting past the more significant mental barrier that so many modders have gotten stuck on. From what I've heard modding in Minecraft is actually getting more efficient the farther in MC version you go.

I presume this means you'll actually go past the Combat Update with the port? We have a distinct lack of DivineRPG styled mods after it.

You don't need to. Use the Philosopher's Stone's special function key for a crafting grid that you can even use it in.
