Try a computer scan to see if any viral threats are doing any cause. I have 4 downloadable which 2 of them will update but the other 2 won't due to the Firewall or whatever keeping them from being able to be played. I know that has nothing to do with something viral, but scanning your computer and removing whatever threats, if any, that are keeping Minecraft from running. Also you can try redownloading Java.

Try deleteing Minecraft off your computer entirely and re-download.
