I've not built a computer for a while, but AFAIK using an iSeries (i3, i5, i7) on its own with its integrated GPU would be more than enough for Minecraft without the need for an additional graphics card. I've played Saints Row 3 on my mate's Sandy Bridge (a few generations old) i5 on low settings with respectable FPS. A graphics card would be overkill if you're doing nothing more than launching Minecraft...
On a side note: I have a £20 graphics card (~$35) which I basically bought for the HDMI port and I can run Minecraft on max settings (even ramping it up with Optifine). Granted, I struggle a bit when it comes to the larger texture pack (x64 and above), but performance is generally pretty flawless. I suspect running Minecraft more to do with CPU than GPU, as the textures and models are VERY simplistic and I'm running quite a powerful processor.

I'm interested in consumer tech like phones and computers, and I'm a bit of a Google fanboy. I'm currently at college, applying for Classics courses at uni for next year.
Trying to find somewhere that's very vanilla (no iConomy or whatever) with a good community ethos. It's pretty much gotta be 18+ unless all your members just happen to be adults anyways, by some miracle.
I can contribute my dry humor (incl. such favorites as "that's what she said" and "CHARLEY HORSE"), as well as a dedication to making modest but pretty buildings.
So, hit me up if you've got anywhere I might fancy joining.

I'm a pretty laid-back guy, and I enjoy chatting with people and having fun. Have you ever been banned: Nope Favorite Biome:Jungle (I like cats) Favorite Mob: Pigman. They just look so awesome. Do you understand netherhub mechanics: Nether-what? Just looked at a video and I think I get it... Minimum distance from spawn you should build: 750 blocks What rule did I repeat twice: Don't cut down trees or something... but seriously, floating trees are the worst thing ever. Anything else related to minecraft you’d like to share: Just looking forward to being part of a growing community.
uhuh. I'd love to get a mini tower but they're so rarely good looking + have enough ports/slots (which is obviously a compromise of being mini) + economical. 'tis mainly why I posed the question, but I think the CM reference case has threw a few people. ^_^'
