This suggestion is about arrows. They're pointy objects stuck on sticks with feathers at the end, used as a projectile weapon and shot out of a bow at high velocity. But that's not the point of this thread / topic.
All-Ore Arrows
I personally believe that each ore type* should have their own arrows. These arrows would, like swords, vary in damage. The currently existing flint ones would be better than wood and stone, but not as good as iron and above.
To combat the Infinite Arrows enchanment with say, diamond arrows, the higher the power of the arrow the faster it would decrease the bow. This would make it viable to keep, for example, both flint or stone and diamond arrows in your inventory.
*wood stone flint iron gold diamond
Quivers
How would the bow distinguish which arrow type you want to fire? That brings me to a new armour addition - the quiver. The quiver sprite is already in the game as an unused object, and can be easily expanded upon. The quiver would hold up to one stack of arrows, and be equipped in a newly added slot. The bow's mechanics would be changed so it can only fire arrows held in a quiver.
This way, a player could keep multiple quivers in his inventory, equipping seperate ones as needed or wanted. The quiver crafting recipe, as I see itt, woluld be the same shape as a door although with leather instead of wood.
I will be expanding on this post and improving it with each opinion or suggestion.
Perhaps instead of an Electric Eel, whenever lightning strikes there could be a chance for some type of lightning energy or power crystal to be formed, which could be mined to give the ingredients for this potion?
I've been thinking. We Minecraftians have swords and armour. Why not a shield?
A shield could be crafted out of any material you can make armour out of, and the strength of the shield depends on the material. Recipe would go like this (Ore block representing Iron Ingot, Gold bar, Leather, etc)
[]
The shield tool has a durability bar that decreases when you use it to : Block arrows, Block melee attacks. It would not defend against explosions, but maybe lower the damage an explosion causes? Also, it can be further crafted to make a sword/shield combo. This protects from attacks while allowing you to fight back. Recipe would be like this (Torch represents sword, Wood represents shield)
I like this idea and I would love if it was added. I'm trying to make a treefort but saplings don't grow the way I want, so making my own tree with wood and leaf blocks would be cool.
What is this hostile mob, you ask? A Guardian. Its sort of like a man made of Stone (Smooth stone) with no face. For a face, it has a glowing Y shape. They are the only hostile mob that can spawn during the day. They have golden swords (Similar to Zombie Pigmen), and have 8 hearts of health. When killed, they will drop 0-2 Stone (Smooth stone) , and 0-1 Low-Durability gold sword. Why named Guardians? This idea was originally to have temples which spawn "Guardians" to guard the temple's treasure.
When I try to enter an SMP server me and another guy started, well, first the connecting to server thing takes FOREVER, and then, it says "Failed to connect to the server. Connection Refused: connect" It also does this for all other SMP servers I try to enter.
My house is HORRRIIIDDDDD, but I'm proud of it. Im a newb so I don't know how to find screenshots of minecraft in my files/documents/whatever, will post them when I figure out how.
Help? The loading message with the Java picture and the loading bar.. Well, the loading bar won't fill. Infact, it won't even start. I solved this problem earlier by redownloading minecraft, but when I tried this time It won't work.
