    How do i install this with the new minecraft launcher (not really "new" anymore, but regardless) I put all the files in the 1.5.2 jar file, but nothing happens differently in the game when i open my profile with 1.5.2 on it. (and yes, i deleted metainf) How do i use this with the new launcher?

    Hello!


    The one thing that really urks me about maps is, Punch Bow skeletons in areas with water/ Scaffolds, it's a nightmare to get things done.


    So i have Community Question for you guys!


    CC: What mobs do you hate the most to deal with in CTM Maps. Custom or non-custom.


    Non custom: Too many skeletons in early game, and by early game, i mean until you are able to get a bow yourself.

    Custom: Punch bow skeletons over void, lava, etc.

    Baby zombie spawners (I'm not sure if this is a custom spawner thing or not) because baby zombies are extremely dumb, having same health and damage but higher speed and an impossible to hit hitbox

    And I strongly disagree with Void in spawn areas. It forces the player to play incredibly intelligently, and rewards good play, while punishing those who don't give void it's due diligence.


    The void in the spawn area isn't a huge deal - it was the skeleton spawner that I could not avoid, as I could not take care of them without running through, hoping to not get shot dead, or bridging over. Like, I just don't see how it's possible to run through 5+ skeletons without dying or being shot off, with no way of getting a bow, better armor, etc.


    What really cheeses me about void is that 1. in areas like the LB wool area, there are so many naturally spawning mobs they're just too tedious to dodge. 2. There is no surefire way to counter your inventory wipe. Sure, you can block it with blocks, but most blocks can be blown up, save for obsidian and bedrock. But.. where can I get either of those? And I really feel like I wasted my time completely when I spend a bunch of time grinding for supplies, just to get an instant inventory wipe.


    Important edit: Say you're like a derpy pigman some of us may know, and you work on Sea of Flame and Survival Island for awhile, and then you get ahard drive crash, resulting in all that time completely wasted. That's how it feels when I play a map and then die because laggy and void areas.

    I tried playing The Painter, but it just wasn't a fun experience. I had to restart 5-6 times because the first area has a skeleton spawner right next to void that spawns about 6 skeletons at a time, which is a bit too hard to defend against since I can't make a bow or any better armor, and I can't even light up the spawner because the 6 skeletons all hitting me is too much knockback, so I just had to avoid the fun path and bridge across, since there was just no other way, since they spawn the instant you get in range. White wool was alright but bland; maybe to prove the point in the dialogue. Orange wool I liked, the custom mobs were cool but it would have been better, I think, if the other mob dropped something. Magenta wool was REALLY bland.. scattered loot and spawners along a river. That's the entire area. Isn't the river styx supposed to hurt you when you go in it? Anyway, Light blue wool was when I RQ. The game got very FPS laggy in the area, and needless to say I fell in the void about 5 times before I just gave up on the area, even with all my settings at minimum, I still was getting like 10 fps and even if I wasn't constantly falling in the void, I still wasn't having fun just because it's so laggy.


    On a semi related note, having void in an area just makes it more difficult and less fun, and it's a cheap way to do those two things at that. It just makes you do more grinding to get your things back, and the thing that really pisses me off about void is that nowadays, when you fall in the void with custom loot, you literally can't get it back, unless it's from a custom mob or something. And in some maps (Not The Painter, except in the very first area) it is almost impossible to beat certain areas without that loot that now, you can't get back. IMO, void is just a cheap way to make the game a bit harder and less fun.

    Thanks! I remember hearing about The Painter whne it was in beta, and always wanted to play it. Will give it a shot. Ragecraft is hard, i knew I'd forgot about it. Will also try the last two.

    Having trouble finding a CTM map I can enjoy. I'd like something easy but not like, ROTM2 easy. Any ideas?

    I've played Vechs maps, ROTM's, UT3, Terra Restore, and probably one or two others that I'm not remembering.

    I have Optifine and still lag quite a bit. Is it a graphics card problem, or would allocating more ram to MC fix it? I can't really tell.

    Having a super hard time with the left area on I1, not because it's difficult but because


    the leaf blocks cause too much lag, even with fast graphics.



    I've made it through both the other areas with relative ease (starting with the Sapphire area) but this one I can't get past, whatsoever, due to the amount of lag. I know it's probably my fault because my computer is terrible, but is there anyway to fix this? I have all my other settings down.

    They will work in MC 1.8.3, but some may be out of date. All but two of them, as DiamondLover said, are all up to date as far as Vechs has made them to. But some may be unbalanced for the newest versions, if that makes sense.

    I.E. don't jump off cliffs in spellbound caves with the Feather Falling 5 boots, because.. well, you'll likely die, since it's outdated.
    Upon close inspection, it appears that there are two maps in the mirror that are not perfectly up to date with the regular downloads:

    Legendary is at 3.0 instead of 3.1 and Waking Up is at 3.6.4 instead of 3.6.5. The rest of the version numbers match with what's listed.

    The Mega downloadd works much better. Thank you! I think it may be something with my computer and other computers (maybe ISP's?) because I suddenly can't get maps (i.e. Vechs' CTM maps I can't get (I assume it's okay to say that because he invented the genre)) from Fileswap.

    I have the same problem; It says it will take over 12 hours to download, then says it failed after a few minutes. Any other downloading of anything works fine, but not this map. :/

    For those who have been around since 1.2.5, you will probably know that Minecraft made a singleplayer to multiplayer engine change in 1.3. If you don't know what this means:

    -When you take damage, you basically stop moving for a moment
    -Minecraft ends up lagging quite a bit when anything that is somewhat heavy on the server happens.

    As far as I know, there are no benefits to this change. Personally, I did not enjoy this change, mostly for the fact that, if you take any fire damage, you will not be able to sprint or jump over gaps while on fire.

    So, if it is possible, it would be amazing if somebody could make a mod that changes this 1.3 change so it is still singleplayer sided. Not sure if it's possible, but ye.

    (I would also be happy if you just, like... made it so being on fire wouldnt ruin your sprint, but whatever works)
