posted a message on Misa's Realistic Texture Pack (UPDATED 1JUL13)

I just wrote a wall of text explaining you why I did this, when my browser crashed and the text was gone. I don't want to type everything again, so here is the short version. The original idea was that we all combine our textures in to one pack. Since I haven't heard from Giammod in the past weeks, I did it this time.

I've been busy, IRL, sorry. I did originally have the idea of a Misa community pack that combine the community's textures and Misa's textures into one pack. However Misa said she didn't approve of her textures being combined with others' textures under her name. which is very understandable. So, she gave me permission to make an 'official' version of her pack updated for the new 1.13 format. The community pack was scrapped and the textures were used with credit and permission[where possible] to fill holes in the 1.13 pack that Misa didn't make. Textures and features I made for the Misa community pack were split off into a patch using my name. Henceforth, Misa requested that unless there's another major pack format change like between 1.12 and 1.13 future versions like 1.14 should be in the form of patches.

In Minecraft patches are used in the resource pack folder and applied in game by having the base pack (Misa 1.13) added first (above the default) and patches added above the base pack.

    "Misa community pack by 'Guks'"?

What the hell, man… Misa's copyright and legal files removed; as well as the community contributions list.

"the "Misa updated v1.13.1" as Mirrored by AnrDaemon is the latest and closest to official-with-Misa's-permission version of the pack there is. Misa has requested that personal changes, additions, and subsequent versions(i.e. 1.14) be handled through patches and not released as a separate combined pack like that. This was stated in her legal disclaimer in the files you removed.

Edit: It is my understanding that mods have deleted the post that this is a response to, making this post look context-less.

I agree, the salmon doesn't look right and I'm not sure it fits Misa's style. The puffer fish texture is muddy. I like the slabs.

He must have taken it from an older version of the pack as your Alex skin was removed within the last couple months, if you recall.

posted a message on Misa's Realistic Texture Pack (UPDATED 1JUL13)

Well, thank you for that, Guks. :)

I've made changes to my Project folders and reuploaded these two packs:

    First, the Official base pack:

-Large number of superfluous files deleted.

    -Optifine codes fixed.

    -fixed dead tube coral texture.

-Fixed a couple files using incorrect names.

    -Restored Misa's single-block sand texture.

-Re-added mossy cobblestone walls, I guess it got lost somehow.

-Random Husks moved off this pack and onto my alternate patch, because they are not official Misa.

    Download Misa updated v1.13.1 (80.23MB)

    Next, My unofficial patch:

    -Random Husks moved here.

-Fixed culling issue with open trapdoors.

    -Improved Optifine code.

-Removed mossier sides to mossy cobblestone, I decided I just don't like it that much.

    -Added the mysterious lever_base texture.

    Download Gimmod Alternate Misa-style 1.13 patch (26.35MB)

Comments on Guks changes detailed above:

-First off, Thanks for hunting down all those unneeded files and broken name files.

-The light blue concrete was colored to match Misa's pallet, and until and unless she changes it I'm leaving the concrete the way it is.

-The Birch Planks are programmed the way Misa had it in her pack.

-I believe the Rain file direction is intentional as it is like that in all Misa's packs. So I'll leave it

-I don't know where lever_base came from, but I like it, so I added it to the patch.

    -The concrete properties are fine.

-I'll deal with .png formats later.

Updated these two packs. Nothing too major, I just optimized Optifine rules for the latest version of Optifine. Also cleaned up dead tube coral texture and fixed yellow stained glass not connecting.

That was a bug in mcpatcher for a long time, Misa compensated for it by having separate rules for the underside of blocks, Sp614x fixed this in a recent update to optifine. I'll fix and reupload the pack when my computer is working again.

    Quote from AtheoAng3l0»

Are Misa's Snow Golem overlays possible w/o MCPatcher? I kinda miss seeing those snowman faces without having to shear the pumpkin off.

Also, do you guys know about LB Photo Realism Reload! I find that its mob textures go well with this pack.

Golems always have a carved pumpkin head. You can replace the standard snow golem texture with your favorite Misa variant, but you'll always have to shear the pumpkin.

and you can't have mob variants without optifine.

    You must construct additional Updates!

Updated the main pack with three little changes:

    - I replicated Misa's mcpatcher enhanced clock as best I could, complete with spinning gears and clock hands. [does not require optifine]

    - Integrated Misa's Nether bricks into the vanilla pack.

    - Changed red nether bricks to fit Misa's nether bricks(Sorry, Guks, but yours just didn't fit the style when used along side Misa's nether bricks in builds.)

    - Also deleted now redundant files as a result of these changes.

posted a message on Trouble with adding mod support to my texture/resource pack

There is no setting in vanilla minecraft to turn on or off random models defined by blockstates. However, if you are using optifine, there is such a setting, it's on by default but you may need to check that it didn't get turned off somehow. Go to Options…> Video Settings…> Details… there is a setting there called "Alternate Blocks" if it is off it will prevent random blocks defined by the blockstates file.

I don't understand why it wont work. Is your texture pack loaded? is it in the list of resource packs you're using? How are you testing it?
