the static ip mean that your internal ip will always be the same, dynamic could mean when ur pc next boots up it will be different and the forwarding won't work.
i personally always set up static ip's on my networks

Well apparently thats not the problem then, since i havent reset my router or restarted my computer for 2 days. it just isnt working x,x

yeah sounds like you did it right then, have you checked portforward.com, maybe u missed something with your router?

The only thing portforward.com says is i need a static IP but It never says what to do with it after i make a static ip, so i didnt think i needed it

the default gateway is your routers ip, would be what you typed into address bar to setup portforwarding on the router.
the ipv4 (as you said few numbers higher than gateway) is the pc's local address.
then you need to get hold of your external ip for others to use to connect to u

So I DO need to enter the last 2 digits of my ipv4 my router options? because that what I've been doing, and te website i go to always says the port is closed on (external ip)

when you say you used your ipv4 ip, it was your internal wasn't it, like 192.168.0.1

wait, default gateway is the internal right? well the IPv4 is the internal one, but + 2 digits at the end =x

No, dont worry. The internal IP is what is used to go to your router settings, if im correct, you enter it in your address bar right?

for me its just listed IPv4, and in a video i watched i was told to enter the last 2 digits of it.

Well Ive been trying to forward my port. I've changed it in my router settings, by going my my router IP and going to Applications and Gaming in single port forwarding. 25565 - 25565 are the two ports i have it set up to (I've ALSO tried 25566 on the last one) entered the last 2 digits of my IPv4 IP address, and no matter what I do, On http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ It always says my port is closed.

I have windows firewall, and It didnt say it was blocking it or anything but I havent made it an exception because I dont know how, is this what is most likely stopping me?

I've tried and tried, but no matter what i do i cant get my port to forward.
Im using http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ To check, and it says my port for my external IP's port isnt 25565.

Heres how i have my forwarding set up:
    Name:Minecraft server
    External port: 25565
    Internal: 25566
    TCP
Last 2 digits of my Pv4 IP
    Enable.

I have windows seven, I think its my firewall, but how do i allow it to connect?..

Edit: I realized i did not download the Minecraft_server.jar file, and i did so just now. Im redoing everything, but please tell me if i did something wrong in the comments

I use the shelves so that I can automatically harvest my farm with water and not worry about dislodging them. Here is a blueprint for mine:

Wow, thats a great idea. Much faster than mine lol, but I think mine probably has a faster grow rate, maybe. Even so, i couldnt have thought up something like that, and ill definitely be building it

Kastrel, what is your mushroom farm layout if you dont mind? For me i just leveled out a large layer of land in the neather and i do row by row, skipping a row so that my mushrooms can grow in that row from both sides. I never really thought that the shelves helped, they didnt seem to grow at a faster rate. They grew faster in rows for me

This is good info. I just found a cave with tons of mushroom in it, and I now I can start a farm!

Another thing: for your wheat farm, water isn't required? I'm really confused about why some people use water and others don't.

Water is required to my knowledge. it just need to be within 3-4 blocks of wheat

    Lapis Lazuli.

It is so rare, and all it is is a die.

rare? o.o i have like 40 blocks of it. so about 360 dye. Just get 14 diamond( 3 picks, a sword, 2 shovels), well not even that but its a great start, make a little base around level 16 (Standing on 15) and keep a bucket, lots of torches or at least sticks to make them when you find coal, and start strip mining. My mineshaft is only about 3 days old and i have almost 120 diamond, 50 blocks of iron, and ive never ran out of torches.

What i do is i make a square room thats about 10x10 with a high ceiling, and in the middle of it i have two branches going straight out about 100 blocks on each side, and then I go up from the corners about 250 (guesstimate, seeing how ive counted 100 blocks and cant even see the other side) connect them in a little rectangle. I put torches on the 2nd block against the wall where every branch starts so i will know which side the base would be on, and the first block on the opposite end. Btw if you dont know what branch mining is you just do this:

    :Sheep: :mossystone: :mossystone: :mossystone: :Sheep:
    :Sheep: :mossystone: :mossystone: :mossystone: :Sheep:
    :Sheep: :mossystone: :mossystone: :mossystone: :Sheep:
    :Sheep: :mossystone: :mossystone: :mossystone: :Sheep:

:Sheep: = where your branch is

I felt the same way you did... So I removed clouds. Stop whining about stuff that's easy to mod in yourself.

Not easy to mod yourself when you dont know how to mod ****.

Clouds. So i can actually have my angry dome up higher than the current cloud level without losing view of my world 99% of the time.

I used about 200 glass lol and a HELL of a lot of smooth stone seeing as i made it before the charcoal update so i dont want to rebuild it :/
