Downloaded the newest version and messed around a bit. Here's what I R building (when I have the time). Things are keeping me busy these days, but I should be around....maybe
It's going to be a large compound stretching across the mountain range there
Wasn't that a really pointless thing to read? Do you wish you had that 1 second of your life back? Because that's how it feels every time everyone else one-word posts.
Is it so difficult to post a complete sentence? If posting more than a single word is such an exhausting task for you, just save yourself the excruciating pain of typing and don't post at all.
If you are making a thread for your texture pack, whether WIP or released, it must have at least one screenshot. If it doesn't, it will be locked. Also, do not accuse others of stealing your work without proof. Do not troll, flame, or spam in simple texture pack threads. If you don't like them, don't post. You will be warned otherwise.
Loving the work. Any plans for the animation offered by the patcher now? Slightly of topic but could you recommend any of H.P.Lovecraft's work other than call of the Cthulhu and shadow over innsmouth? I don't know where to go next.
It's kind of tough these days to find his stuff. I usually end up getting a collection of his stories in a paperback (cause I know I'll wear it out :tongue.gif:)
Try to find "The Best of H P Lovecraft", "The Transition of H P Lovecraft", and "The Dream Cycle of H P Lovecraft" on Del Rey books.
As far as the animations go, I haven't been able to see much lately. Got a bit sick and dealing with other stuff...stuff always pops up now. I would love to do things like Glimmar has (the only work I got to see)
This has run it's course. Hopefully long enough for some to see it. Although making this a sticky is like making a sign that reads "Hey...look at the stickies".
Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I don't really understand about resolutions.
Which one (16x16, 32x32, 64x64 etc) should I use to make a texture pack? And why does it matter? I personally don't want to make one in HD that will require a lot of fixing and patching for the average person to use. I just want them to be able to download, and play.
Or do I have to edit the different pictures one by one and save them one by one? If its the latter, what is the point of the picture above? Just for the downloaders to see all the textures in one place?
Also, how will I know in the end if the pack I made will need an HD patcher to work?
And what about changing mobs? Will I have to dig those out of wherever they are in the .jar file?
Sorry if you already covered this. I've read the thread 3 times, I'm just not understanding everything.
16x16 is the default size MC uses. You can use a pack made in 16x with no patcher most of the time. But only if the pack doesn't use custom animations and such.
The best way to edit the terrain or items files is to make a texture (16x16, 32x32, 64x64 and so on in pixels) and then add it to the terrain/item file in the appropriate space (you can choose to erase/cut the texture you are covering if you want, but make sure to do so if there's any transparency or blanks space, like glass) in the texture being made, making sure that it fits exactly in the desired space. Cannot be off even a pixel on the sheet, or it will show in game.
Mobs you will indeed have to get from the MC jar or if anyone has blank templates you can find. You can make mobs any size you want and they will work with or without the patcher.
So many things could go wrong with that...I'd get lynched for one.
(but haha..I got to delete a post made by Glimm. How many of you could say that?)

I am building something HUGE and got your latest update to take screens. It's a hybrid CthulhuPunk of the most insane kind. Only thing is, I cannot ever find the right sandstone of yours to fit. Might have to try out another alt.
I'm sorry I haven't been able to check in often, Gestankfaust, I've been busy with a combination of school and what's new in my signature. I'll try (read: fail) to show up more often :smile.gif:
It's quite alright. Yer on here as much as me at least
Kinda waiting til they stop playing the "pre-release" game and make a release. :tongue.gif:
I want to kinda get a feel for the newest stuff so I can know what to do with it all. An actual 1.9 update will be released soon, even if it's just using placeholders, but I really wish I didn't hafta keep copying new terrains and templates...
