    posted a message on Entities and Pathing
    So I have an entity who I want to be able to move to where I click with an item. And I created just that.

    The problem with it is that every 30 or so blocks far that it tries to move, it ends up falling 1 more block short. So if it's moving a distance of 60 blocks, it ends up going only about 58. Maybe a little less or more. The entity also tends to run into walls far too much.

    I was wondering if anyone would take some time out and review the code that I have so far; it's pretty simplistic, and if anyone could give me any pointers or refinements, it'd be a huge help. The end result I'm hoping to have is that it sort of curves around obstacles and over things if it needs, and actually reach its destination.

    public void basicPath() {

      double distx = this.targx - this.posX;
      double disty = this.targy - this.posY;
      double distz = this.targz - this.posZ;

      this.motionX = 0.1D + (distx * 0.2D);
      this.motionY = 0.1D + (disty * 0.2D);
      this.motionZ = 0.1D + (distz * 0.2D);

      updatePath(distx, disty, distz);

    }

    public void updatePath(double distx, double disty, double distz) {
      distx = this.targx - this.posX;
      disty = this.targy - this.posY;
      distz = this.targz - this.posZ;

    }

    where targx / y / z are the coordinates for the block that I tell it to move to.

    posted a message on Partial Transparency in Minecraft?
    So, what I'm looking for or rather thinking on is stardust blocks, using the wool textures. I want to make textures that seem like stardust, if you know what I mean by that (kinda streaky, wavy-sand texture, and sparkly)

    HOWEVER, to do this requires the fading effect that stars have on them, where it's bright and slowly fades to black. Sorry if I'm explaining stuff unnecessary, by the way.

    In any case, does Minecraft support this sort of fading? Or does the game automatically create opaque pixels where there's any color value whatsoever?

    posted a message on CubeX2's Mods - All mods available for 1.8.9
    None of my recipes are working for Customstuff 2.3.9, are they bugged? I literally went through and quintuple checked the recipes, for example my recipe for golden sticks:

    recipes.addRecipe("1037 2 1 2 266 266, "", "vanilla");

    where ID 1037 is the stick, 266 are gold bars. It's a 1x2 recipe, just like regular sticks, so why isn't it working?
    Can anyone help me out?

    So what words do you want it to say exactly and where? I get the description kind of. Also I can draw really well, but my scanner is broken. I might try to fix it, but for now all I can do is photoshop. Thats why im trying to get donations for a tablet.

    I wish the name to be slightly above the sword, and the title to be slightly below. And I get that, I hate it when my scanner breaks. It's so annoying because I draw them in pencil, then usually upload them to Deviant Art.

    EDIT: Pardon my asking, but do you have a general timeframe in which it will be done? I'm curious to know how long it takes for this kind of thing.

    Name: Eliwood75
    Forum Name: Gerathinum
    Desired type: Banner
    Desired Theme: glowing-fire-like, and if possible glowing metal as well. It'd be nice if you could put a glowing ring around the E that breaks when it nears the L. Behind the name, and slightly below, I'd like a sword hilt on the right with the blade extending to the edge, the blade has a glowing red core, surrounded by a gold-ish metal, surrounded by iron-like metal with a yellow tint to it, and slightly below that the title. The text I want to be something like Starcraft 2's text, if possible.

    Desired Description: Eliwood, Plasminer

    Desired Colors: Lots of reds and yellow-greens for foreground, grays on metal for background.

    Sorry if this is a bit much to ask, but I think it'd look interesting. Plus, it's a challenge for me to do, since while I'm fairly competent at drawing, whenever I color it I ruin the metallic textures.

    Well, I don't know. I get it to stop giving me errors, but the server prompt immediately disappears. Why is that?

    Really, now? there's a server jar on the site, I'll even give you the link.

    Did you miss that or something?

    I followed all the instructions it gave me: I run the server once, then I stop it.

    I put all files inside the Jar folder into the minecraft_server jar, and put all the files in the Server folder into the server's root folder, yet when I run it again, it says, "Java Exception has occured."

    I'm attempting to create a 1.8.1 server, by the way.

    Can someone please help me? I've tried at least five times in the last hour.

    I put the minecraft_server.jar inside of the folder, I go into it, and I extract all the stuff into it. Then I go and put the rest into the root folder, but when I try to run it, an error occurs. Can someone please help me with this?

    No, there is not. This is supposed to be a block of ore I shall generate into the game... Is the method of adding blocks different from 1.8.1? I used the tutorials on the youtube channel legenkiller666.

    This error is different from the others I've seen, and though I look for a way to fix it, I can't figure anything out.

    Syntax error on token "Adamantine_Ore", VariableDeclaratorId expected after this token mod_Solcraft.java /Client/src/net/minecraft/src, line 43, Java Problem

    any help or suggestions? The base code is simple:

    package net.minecraft.src;
    import java.util.Random;

    public class mod_Solcraft extends BaseMod
    {

    @Override
    public String getVersion() {
    // TODO Auto-generated method stub
    return null;
    }

    @Override
    public void load() {
    // TODO Auto-generated method stub

    }

    public void addNames()
    {

    }

    public void registerBlocks()
    {

    }

    public void addTextures()
    {

    }

    public static Adamantine_Ore = new Block(10001, material.ground).setBlockName("Adamantine_Ore").

    }

    posted a message on MCP v5.0 Error! NEED HELP NOW
    Pardon, could I get some help with this? I don't think my ModLoader is functioning correctly, there's possibly an error in there somewhere, or it could be something to do with the new update.

    It's telling me that BlockIndexInTexture, IconIndex, and several other things can't be registered or something. All seem to be related to Modloader. Does anyone know about this?

    posted a message on Help with the mod I'm working on, just a couple questions.
    So all of these files have to be .java files, NOT class files? is that it? because I just opened tw.class and got this:

    import java.util.Random;

    public class tw extends ig
    {
      public boolean a(ry paramry, Random paramRandom, int paramInt1, int paramInt2, int paramInt3)
      {
        for (int i = 0; i < 20; i++) {
          int j = paramInt1 + paramRandom.nextInt(4) - paramRandom.nextInt(4);
          int k = paramInt2;
          int m = paramInt3 + paramRandom.nextInt(4) - paramRandom.nextInt(4);
          if ((!paramry.h(j, k, m)) || (
            (paramry.e(j - 1, k - 1, m) != p.g) && (paramry.e(j + 1, k - 1, m) != p.g) && (paramry.e(j, k - 1, m - 1) != p.g) && (paramry.e(j, k - 1, m + 1) != p.g)))
          {
            continue;
          }

          int n = 2 + paramRandom.nextInt(paramRandom.nextInt(3) + 1);
          for (int i1 = 0; i1 < n; i1++) {
            if (yy.aX.e(paramry, j, k + i1, m)) {
              paramry.d(j, k + i1, m, yy.aX.bM);
            }

          }

        }

        return true;
      }
    }
