Yeah, something snapped when he said I was talking about something I knew nothing about. The instance is Prove the idiot wrong, the world is Prove the idiot wrong world, and the seed is Prove the idiot wrong. I took 3 hours of content and smashed it into a 40 minute video, with no prior experience of editing whatsoever. Something in my head just went "Oh now he's done it". I won't be uploading the video since CreativeGuy believes me, it was simply proof video.

Aww, I would've loved to see that display of exploity speedrun awesomeness.

Expanding into 4 dimensions, huh? This is giving me crazy ideas about higher tier machines that use time manipulation to instantly convert input items into the finished products, expending all the energy in one burst and just skipping the progress bar entirely. I suppose time/entropy manipulation/reversal could also add precedent for including a new type of machine that does slightly unusual crafting recipes. Weird stuff like Wheat->Seeds, Sand->Cobble, Saplings->Wood, though that probably wouldn't add enough depth to be worth the effort.

IMO you have ruined your mod. This mod has went from amazing to this. There are less items in the mod. There is no way to fly. There are no condensers. No nothing. The only thing you thought was a good idea was to keep the Philophisor's stone (which is nerfed to hell) and the Alchemical bags. This mod has gone from my favoraite to a excuse of the Thaumcraft.

I second this. I enjoyed EE2 a lot because it offered plenty of great endgame items. Then that mod dies, and this comes along with nothing to offer. No offense to the creator, but this wasn't necessary.

It's not finished yet. It's being rebuilt from the ground up. That's why it's a prerelease.

Not sure if this idea has been brought up before but I didn't find anyone asked on here or Github. Will there be a blacklist of some sort on what recipes the minium/philosopher stone can transmute? It would help keep players on servers from exploting things like using the Thermal Expansion saw mill to get infinite wood.

I heard that there is going to be a dynamic EMC system that will adapt to most/all crafting methods to prevent exploits.

One of my older suggestions for rebalancing is that it takes time to both break down and reconstruct materials. The amount of time to break down materials could be some logarithm of (1+EMC). This has the effect that breaking down a few expensive items is significantly faster than breaking down tons of cheap items. This discourages most forms of EMC farming. Just as an example, let's say we used 1.162047951 as the base of our logarithm. It would take exactly 60 seconds to break down a Diamond. It would be 50.77179348 seconds for Gold, and 203.0871739 to get the EMC equal to a Diamond. Iron would take 36.94853587 seconds and 1182.353148 for Diamond-equivalence. Wood takes 23.28150364 & 2980.032466. Cobblestone takes 4.615322096 & 37808.71861. That's over 10.5 hours to extract 8192 EMC from cobble and it's still almost 50 minutes to do so with wood. Essentially, alchemy starts to revolve around turning valuable resources into other valuable resources, instead of sitting around a farm, because you could wait to process a bunch of garbage, but you really don't want to.

For one of the mid-high tier research projects (high-tier lost + mid-tier forbidden + low-tier eldritch), you should figure out how to elevate yourself to a higher state of being in an attempt to imitate the great monolith builders (what could possibly go wrong?). You construct some device or concoction that turns you into the magical equivalent of Dr. Manhattan, infusing and amplifying your natural energies until they become a full-blown thaumic aura. There are multiple directions you could go with this. I believe the most promising would be this....

-Your aura's Vis and Taint levels attempt to balance with the chunk you're in, and are affected by the chunk's positive or negative charge
-You experience benefits and penalties based on your Vis and Taint levels (buffs, debuffs, poisoning, health regen, hunger regen allowing you to live off of raw energy LIKE A BAWS,)
-Thaumic devices and tools will be powered by your own aura when you're near them and are boosted in effectiveness based on the strength of your aura
-However, exposure to Taint and negative charge would cause your aura to accumulate Corruption, a sort of magical cancer, a negative charge inherent to yourself that affects you and the chunks you are in
-And existing in an advanced state like this causes you to continuously consume Vis

A series of more advanced devices derived from eldritch research would allow you to perform what is essentially magic surgery on your aura in order to do the following...
    -Amputate the Corruption
    -Siphon the Taint from you
-Quickly refill your Vis using the resources at/near your lab, in case nearby chunks are insufficient or you're trying to not damage the environment everywhere else you go
-Infuse you even further, boosting your aura's Potency, a value that determines your max capacity, powering/boosting range and how much more effective devices are when powered by you
-Depowering your aura and forcing it into remission, just in case you aren't ready for the burden of being a supercharged battery that's constantly eating/poisoning the world's energies

Because it's not a mysterious magic mod until you accidentally with the cosmic power.

I just broke the game so hard with an extremely basic exploit. Rotary Macerator turning Blaze Rods into 5 Blaze Powder each, 3 more than normal. Logistics Pipes push that into an Energy Condenser that makes more Blaze Rods and supplies them back to the Macerator. I think we might need to revise the maximum EU to EMC conversion rate.

Except that an AF+4 Bellows will average a yield of 1.5 for virtually no Vis in comparison to the duplicator. The only real cost is alumentum for the AF and Generator and ~1 vis/item smelted. This can be done super early as you only need 20 Iron, 4 Vaporous Crystals, 1 Fiery Crystal, 2 Crystals other than Tainted(For the Crucible and Infuser), some cobble, glass panes and a handful of red stone. That gives you a full efficiency Arcane Furnace. Now you can make the IC2 stuff and you'll likely need much less than the maximum materials, especially since you can get extra refined Iron as well. However while this is technically an exploit. It still requires legwork on your part to keep going. Its much more satisfying than EE or using the Duplicator with a Seed of Darkness Farm, although this is actually more powerful than EE in the early game since with a good start you can get the whole thing set up in 1.5 hours and dupe gold so fast it'll make your eyes spin. Often my first goal in a new world now is to get an AF/Macerator set up so I can stretch my metals out a bit longer (I eat through Iron like a madman)

The strongest part of the exploit is of course being able to use the duplicated ingots to provide the Vis necessary for making more. Blatant violation of the Conservation of Resources.

Also, fancy seeing you outside of the DoomRL forums.

I was thinking, a fun little tool to add to the mid-high tiers of alchemy would be a modified/expanded Philosopher's Stone. The Industrialist's Stone, using the regular Phil. Stone, Compressor, Extractor, Macerator, Cropnalyzer, Induction Furnace, Klein Star Zwei, Lapotron Crystal and Iridium plate. It would lose most of the original functionality, in exchange for being chargeable with EU and including the functionality of those other machine blocks/tools in its crafting interface. It would function instantaneously, but at a much higher cost of EU. I know you aren't real big on rendering other mods' stuff obsolete, but this would serve as more of an inefficient multi-tool that you can use while away from your much more convenient automated systems. Shift-clicking each stack of ore/dust and draining half a Lap Pack isn't going to universally replace the cheap Logistics-enabled IC2 factory, but it would be a cool option to have out in the field.

really? because i just made a bunch or resin and copper from a few diamonds.

There is limited support for certain basic materials such as Copper, Tin, Bronze, Oil Buckets, Uranium, Resin, Silver, RP2 Gems, Nikolite and others. But it does not have exhaustive support for every craftable item like it does for vanilla Minecraft.

If we use this as our baseline standard for Reactors and shoot for a return of about 5 times investment, we can price Uranium Ore at about 47,185.92 and round it up to 49,152 EMC or 6 Diamonds.

So, what kind of Vis consumption is there for the Arcane Furnace's duplication effect (with/without Stabilized Singularity)? I don't intend to exploit it, but I'd like to know, hypothetically speaking, how viable it would be to macerate Gold Ingots and resmelt them.

    This.... has promise.

Smoothstone to Glass? Depending on the pattern it uses to determine which 16 blocks to do, this may allow you to strip mine with much more space in-between rows. If you've got EE, you can convert the stone back into exactly as much Glass as you used. Though now I'm realizing, the Philosopher's Stone allows you to turn a large cube of Smoothstone to Sand in two clicks for free. Why have I never used THAT for mining before?
