I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
He has also used his time to play with experiments like this before. This is how we ended up with infinite maps and the crafting system you see today. And back then, those proposals were met with bitching and naysayers too.
Originally, we had to throw ore into a fire and bars would pop out...

So yeah. Just take it easy, gents.

I had skipped 4, played a bit of 5, and then skipped 6. I had been enjoying Samurai Warriors and Warriors Orochi then instead and had become quite bored of the series.
Recently though, I picked up Dynasty Warriors 7. That was a lot of fun because of the build-up and conclusion with the Jin dynasty.
I learned a little. Kinda cool. Haven't seen that from Koei in a long while. :tongue.gif:

All the commands you'll need are here-
http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/SMP_Server_commands
Specifically, the one you want is /whitelist add and then the name.
/whitelist add AhthurUngnone for example.
Enjoy.

I'm always digging away at the stone underground or inside mountains, carving out halls, chambers, and rooms. I don't even decorate them really.
Having to actually construct something in the open is really unappealing to me. I'd sooner spent six hours digging a subway line underneath a town than build even a simple watch tower.
So I'm often an extremely good source of stone for builders and space for decorators. :tongue.gif:

Hey, just take it easy there. You brought it up and now you've got people interested in what you're saying.
If they're assuming things incorrectly, clear it up by explaining further. If you get defensive, nobody will want to talk to you. Then there was no reason for you to have shared your thoughts at all.
To the point, it seems pretty silly of you, one who claims to have real talent, to place blame on school for actually challenging you. They were trying to make you stronger you know. You do realize that? They were there to guide you through your weaknesses and give you abilities you could use from then and into the future. In time, you would likely far exceed their own abilities.
Are you seriously saying that because of whatever they tried to teach you that you completely lost your passion for art?
That's really wimpy, dude.
Hmm. It also sounds like something that happened in your past.
Let's see. Your profile says that you're 16. So what's that... this happened during middle school? Elementary?
Yeah, okay. I really doubt it was so terrible, like they physically molested you trying to get you to.. what? Practice with charcoal? Sculpt clay? Paint?
Come on.
But you know, the fact that you brought this up to complete strangers on the forum here shows me that you still have misgivings about abandoning your art. The solution is simple: get the hell over your blame and roll with it. Rise to a challenge and keep rolling. You will learn and you will grow, and you will show those simpletons who they were messing with.
Otherwise, don't you dare spout such nonsense about having talent. You don't deserve that word.

But then so are all of these 1.8 snippets.
Taller maps are something I've very much wanted to see in the game for quite some time now. Not only does it allow for taller mountains but it implies canyons, chasms, and things like that; not only above ground, but also underwater.
Yup. This will certainly bring me back to Minecraft with gusto.

Hmm. Actually, you might be noticing that old posts that had been made or edited during the BBCode downtime still haven't been updated; that's because they need to be manually re-edited to have BBCode properly re-enabled.
Basically, stuff that was kind of a mess before will still look like a mess unless someone, the poster himself or a moderator, comes along and simply resubmits the post.
This happened before when we made the forum transition. Bunch of broken-looking tags everywhere.
Track down your fugly posts, hit edit, and just resubmit. I don't think you need to change anything.
That'll fix it.
Happy hunting!

I'm locking this. You can try again if you like, but really put some more thought behind it.
As for you other guys here, arguing about magic.. I'd advise you make a thread in Minecraft discussion. Actually, there might already be one in there.
If you want some word from Notch on this subject. kindly have a look through this thread here-

Stop bumping your thread. Bumping without content is against the rules.
Consider that if everybody were bumping their threads, same as you, that nothing would be getting accomplished around here. It would be a constant battle to keep your thread anywhere near page 1, or even 2 or 3.
Please find a way to contribute with actual thread content; post pictures, plan projects, talk about funny happenings, chat with your members a bit.
That's acceptable and encourages others to do the same. Make it meaningful.

What you can also do, like in the farmcraft thread, is use a broad idea and then break it down into a lot of smaller but still relevant suggestions.
So by making a suggestion about farms as a broad idea, he was also able also suggest various farm animals, farming implements, crops, domestication, and all that.
It's well fleshed-out, well formatted, and yet remains simple and concise enough to be an easy read.
Just always remember to perform a search and then carefully read the thread. It's always better to post in an existing thread with your new stuff, even if you have to bump it back up. Bumping with a significant amount of new or original content is fine.
Hope that helps.

If you have some really good ideas on their own, you should find a thread that discusses them and add what you can (bumping with a decent amount of new or interesting content is acceptable, if necessary) or make your own thread.
You should also make a new thread for each individual suggestion. Just please flesh it out. One paragraph is not a lot to go on.

This is ridiculous. I've already handled this guy a few times for misbehavior, but just because you guys see someone causing trouble does not mean you get to abandon all etiquette, ignore the rules, and just start being complete morons.
This is ridiculous. I'm doing my rounds now and I really hope the rest of you guys aren't on this forum for the sole purpose of behaving this way. If that's the case, you're not going to be around for much longer unless you improve your attitude.
Don't give in to misbehavior. Don't respond to rule breaking by breaking more rules.

It would be acceptable to post your ideas and thoughts in there, but it would also be great if you read what has been said in the thread already as well. Folks have poured over game balance issues and such many times over. The issue is not so much the crafting combinations, but rather the effects guns have on game balance.

Man, I'm telling -everybody- about this one.
