My theory is that he is a creative mind; he wanted the features of the game out quickly and did not care much for code organization and convention.
pretty much, I think I read it on his blog, but he started minecraft as a hobby, and never thought it'd get as big as it did. so he never bothered with optimizations as he should have.

With only 2GB of RAM you will get maybe like five FPS. The card is fine, but since Minecraft is ran with Java it eats up CPU and requires a ton more RAM.
RAM =! performance
Minecraft allocates 512 MB by default IIRC, and java takes as much as it needs. 2GB is a little low on average, but it's fine depending on what he's planning to do
OP: chrome doesn't like the link, what's your budget? does it have to be a laptop? building your own gives a lot better price to performance, and is incredibly easy
I'll see about Defragging tonight, CCCleaner I'm not sure how to install without internet. I have no clue when the last update (if any) was installed on the computer. I don't believe it has internet access.
no one picked up/moved the xbox while the disk was in there did they? I've seen a video where a guy tilts it while it's reading a disk and it scratches it just like that, can't seem to find it though.

if you're lagging while recording, no matter what capture system you use, either you're computer isn't powerful enough, or you're doing it wrong.
