It seems all the armor and items custom NPCs originally came with is gone.... I am sure there is a good reason though and if there isn't really we have no right to complain.

1 thing that never made any sense to me about vanilla minecraft is we have coal. minecarts, and a railroad systems but no trains xD seriously has anyone else thought about it after awhile and facepalmed like "omg that is what is missing!" I know mods though will prob make their own train and do it 12x better but I still think minecraft would be much more complete if we fill in minor things like this before adding new mobs and combat tweaking (although I am one of the few who enjoyed the combat revamp they made).
So what do you guys think Yes? No? Too easy to make unbalanced? what are your thoughts?

The community of Minecraft always called for an improvement in the fight, we all know this, and why now, after all the work that has been done to improve the fight, most of the players are hating? I can not understand, some say "It's the end of the PVP" "Better Version 1.7 for PVP" "Stop doing that," "RIP Minecraft servers" "RIP Minecraft". You prefer to continue with the Spam-Click? You prefer to take 20 hits in 2-3 seconds? Do you prefer take 50 hits in 2 seconds of players using "Forcefield"?
With 1.9, we have to use more strategy, we have to create our own way of fighting, using shields, axes, swords, potions. And that's not bad, is very good. There are many possibilities, better than keep clicking like crazy, until you have tendinitis or create corns on fingers.
What do you think about the 1.9?
NOTE: This thread is not limited in the new combat discussion (That was the central idea of the thread: "The anger of the majority of the players with new mechanical combat the 1.9"), but all discussions to 1.9 are welcome.
Personally I think 1.9 will be the last update cuz honestly I don't feel mincraft needs more vanilla content we got plenty of great modders who pretty much do what Mojang/Microsoft can't like adding complex dungeons, dimensions and mobs + we already have way too many aesthetic blocks. I like the combat aspects I think its great way to add alot of fun to this game but honestly I feel that Mojang is running out of ideas we got 15x the content for the 30$ I spent for my legit copy so I am not complaining if we never reach 1.9.10, 2.0, or 2.1 I honestly have no reason to complain I had alot of fun in the end.

Well if dual wielding and shields are added that means Battle Gear 2 is no longer going to need updated I guess.

Dec 19, 20141.8 actually did pretty good my opinion it seemed to me they spent more time on bug fixes wich impressed me alot. The new content was well balanced and the lag although it's as bad as 1.7.2 this is actually curable unlike 1.7.2 I had no way to fix it.Posted in: Recent Updates and Snapshots

Yes it's on a server so I do need the chunks constantly loaded or the server plugins delete it

but they put this up there encouraging this!! i would rather have pay to win then worry about servers abusing payment plansQuote from sebdomsan
There was never a restriction preventing pay to play on a server its was just not common though because servers had pay to win so they picked pay to win insteed of pay to play.

"Can I charge for access to my server?Yes. How players join a server is up to you. Single entrance fees or subscriptions are both allowed. How often am I allowed to charge players to access my server? You can charge players as regularly as you like. You can even charge for timed access if you think it’s the best way to monetise your server."this is actually a huge mistake now servers can be even more illegit now that payment plans are allowed!!!Because there is no specific guidelines as to how 1 server can charge to play a server we will now see new hell like cell phone companies pull!forQuote from SacheverellIt's time to revisit the EULA once more! With the recent announcement about changes to the EULA (and in particular, how they will affect multiplayer servers), many questions have arisen. - Encouraging (or claiming to engage in) EULA violations
example of payment abuse: they can add hidden fees such as a 200$ fee to cancel your server payment subscription!! now things are really gona get bad!

do plugin features like charging to make an NPC guard count (not a mod)
Jun 12, 2014I actually thought about it and maybe this is good we have too many clone server guidelines like these will make people think harder and be more unique as to how the server may survive no more clone servers will be this resultPosted in: News

Rumour started by rival companies... sounds like an possible idea if you're a high-schooler.
No. Rumours start because of stupid people that don't like to keep facts straight.
As for copyright (one word), it's creators can hold a copyright to their textures and so forth, but not to the idea of another level for someone else's game.
Nice try, though.
Well in a way technically I thought about this and since aether used minecraft to create this mod technically mojang holds even higher copy rights to the aether then the aether team themselves because it was mojang's property that started it and as for starting what do you mean by trying?
May 14, 2014I haven't heard this rumor but it sounds like a scheme by rival companies just trying to make people panick and stop playing minecraft they are so stupid.I plan to make a game someday but this trash rumor is just sad at how jealous competitors get theses days honestly there are always scary jealous types that do anything even abuse rules and laws. I believe mojang will always be 1 step ahead of these jealous types.Posted in: News
They can bring the lies, fake rumors and all sorts of dirty tactics but the fact is don't give up as long as you have the will to move forward as Notch has shown there will be a future always
that's already copy righted by aetherQuote from StealthLava
I have an idea for Minecraft. I am not the only one who has thought of the either.
Add a Heaven/Sky Realm!?! One that uses a craftable portal. (Using one of either Redstone, Glowstone, Quartz, Snow or other block?) Something that can be crafted using the same method as Nether Portals. (But with a blue or yellow portal?)
Another idea I have. There is a hidden block in Minecraft. It can be used as Polished Stone. (Current ID for Texture: double_stone_slab, Meta Data: 8, Texture used: Top of Stone Slab.) It can be crafted using 2 stone slabs? (It drops itself when broke.)
And Please, Please add Stone, Cobblestone and Polished Stone Lanterns to Minecraft? (Crafting recipe is like Jack-O-Lanterns. But with stone stuff.)

Notch has recognized minecraft as a community if he didn't these forums, plugins, mods, and sites would be gone by now however just because we are a community doesn't mean we own minecraft it means we are allowed to come together and make opinions out of a request based existence but thing is like I said we as a community don't own minecraft we are basically people who have joined a club and he is the founder his rule is law a community is not in control this isn't a democracy it is a gameQuote from TylorGoldenYoshi
Selfishness is a two-way street bro. Minecraft is Notch's game, not the community's.
Notch doesn't seem to be a fan of Facebook and doesn't want to be associated with it. It's a business decision related to ethics. Get educated on business sometime.
Mar 28, 2014I don't think Notch is an idiot he is human and makes decisions any human would normally try to based on his own views I can't say I disagree with this but I fail to see how this make sense I mean If notch is Conscious enough to stop cooperatng with oculus rift why is he still cooperating with bukkit? they are even worse then facebook my opinion, they may not invade privacy but I get tired of them picking fights it shames not only the main minecraft communities, faceook tries to bring the world together they may not be capable of being trusted but they aren't gona rip you a new one if they don't wana get along they simply ignore, I may have alot of issues with the behaviors of bukkit but they do provide decent service in a way wich makes them = to the level of quality of facebook but enough ramblingPosted in: News
The fact of the matter is Notch made an educated decision based on where he wants minecraft to go he has knowledge we couldn't dare comprehend he may have made a decision to so many that causes alot of discomfort but he also has the RIGHT and the fact is when you join a service like minecraft you have contributed to a company that you have basically accepted Notch as your leader and if you don't like this make your own game and run your own ideals.
To Notch: whatever you choose I trust that you are in the best interest of minecraft I may disagree but I know your the one who will help us carve the way to the next generation it's not about what I want it is about what is best for us as a community
Thank you for looking after us in these dark times

For all you people who didn't take the time to see exactly WHY facebook bought Oculus, here is Mark's blogpost on the matter.
I'm excited to announce that we've agreed to acquire Oculus VR, the leader in virtual reality technology.
Our mission is to make the world more open and connected. For the past few years, this has mostly meant building mobile apps that help you share with the people you care about. We have a lot more to do on mobile, but at this point we feel we're in a position where we can start focusing on what platforms will come next to enable even more useful, entertaining and personal experiences.
This is where Oculus comes in. They build virtual reality technology, like the Oculus Rift headset. When you put it on, you enter a completely immersive computer-generated environment, like a game or a movie scene or a place far away. The incredible thing about the technology is that you feel like you're actually present in another place with other people. People who try it say it's different from anything they've ever experienced in their lives.
Oculus's mission is to enable you to experience the impossible. Their technology opens up the possibility of completely new kinds of experiences.
Immersive gaming will be the first, and Oculus already has big plans here that won't be changing and we hope to accelerate. The Rift is highly anticipated by the gaming community, and there's a lot of interest from developers in building for this platform. We're going to focus on helping Oculus build out their product and develop partnerships to support more games. Oculus will continue operating independently within Facebook to achieve this.
But this is just the start. After games, we're going to make Oculus a platform for many other experiences. Imagine enjoying a court side seat at a game, studying in a classroom of students and teachers all over the world or consulting with a doctor face-to-face -- just by putting on goggles in your home.
This is really a new communication platform. By feeling truly present, you can share unbounded spaces and experiences with the people in your life. Imagine sharing not just moments with your friends online, but entire experiences and adventures.
These are just some of the potential uses. By working with developers and partners across the industry, together we can build many more. One day, we believe this kind of immersive, augmented reality will become a part of daily life for billions of people.
Virtual reality was once the dream of science fiction. But the internet was also once a dream, and so were computers and smartphones. The future is coming and we have a chance to build it together. I can't wait to start working with the whole team at Oculus to bring this future to the world, and to unlock new worlds for all of us.
Facebook has the same vision for Oculus that everyone else did, they're helping by buying it out so Oculus can develop it twice as fast and get a cheaper consumer model way before they anticipated. Facebook isn't going to crap all over Oculus like everyone is saying. Everyone saying that is uninformed.
"Immersive gaming will be the first, and Oculus already has big plans here that won't be changing and we hope to accelerate. 1, "Our mission is to make the world more open and connected." that is a load of bull you get warnings on facebook for friending people randomly
2."]this has mostly meant building mobile apps that help you share with the people you care about" ok 1 you let the real fake accounts used to harass go and freeze the legit ones so they cant share or anything thinking they are not real people that is balone and what would they know about care? They block accounts for no reason and let the real jerks do as they please
I don't see how I can believe facebook they are a company up to no good using resources to abuse most don't think about but its all I have because most forums (not this 1) are worse then facebook and facebook is already bad enough
Mar 26, 2014hah look at the bright side google doesn't win.....welll google may not of even been involved but google still doesn't win!Posted in: News

Mark Zuckerburg saw ahead, yes it won't be used for gaming but just think of the posibilities, imagine being 3D Printed Medicine from your doctor with just a VR Call, you could tell him your exact condition as if you're sitting right in front of him without wasting petrol/gas to go see your doctor.
You could chat with your friends just sitting there, or go into a VR that is much like a game and live there for a few hours until you go back.
It has endless possibilities, let's just hope it doesn't happen too quickly, as I still prefer my PC gaming over any VR because of how different and easy it is.
Watching TV wherever you are? Or even abolish schools completely and save a hell of a lot of money by just having a classroom where you use your VR and have a desk in front of you, with a bit of calibration you could even write an exam?
uhhh no =-= doctors hide behind media enough to get out of crap I would rather have VR games but as for notch not working with facebook i do agree that's best
