Not just you, I miss it too. I even have a working Minecraft beta 1.7.3 server, and am going to work on setting up a Minecraft classic server soon. I play old versions almost ALL the time. Depending on what I feel like playing, I play either Minecraft classic 0.0.13a, classic 0.30, indev, alpha 1.1, alpha 1.2, beta 1.7.3, or Minecraft full 1.6.2.
Like, you know, when it was in beta and was still so simple. Everyone had crazy creations and glitches like the block duplication XD. Now they just added so much stuff like the funnel and all that. It's probably just me, because I'm in a minecraft forum, but i'm gonna ask anyways: Is it just me?

So there's these things called mods, and I heard that they're really popular nowadays. Call me crazy, but I've never used a mod before. I kind of think i'm missing out, because there's some really good mods out there that would really spicen up my Minecraft world. I'm getting a bit bored with vanilla Minecraft, so I would like to download a few mods. So here's what I want from you guys:
I know that there's MILLIONS of mods out there, so I would really appreciate it if someone suggested a few nice mods that I could start off with. I don't want any specific type of mod, I will happy as long as it can make Minecraft more exciting. Don't give me a huge list, only suggest three mods.
I also want a reliable source to download these mods from. Give me a site that's trustworthy and virus free.
Last but not least, give me a nice, detailed set of directions in downlading and installing mods. I'm not very good with computers, so make it as detailed as possible. (NOTE: My internet browser is Google Chrome.)

Zeppelin Mod! My favourite one It's one of my reasons my minecraft's not on the latest version, and one of the mods that's actually useful in survival
It looks awesome. It can get better--not that it's not good, but everything gets better, I'm just not the right person for it. It reminds me of something I built very similar to that one in a server. You can see it from spawn and everyone saw it.
They're pretty annoying, and we don't really use TNTs in survival, do we? huh? I like minecraft forests and don't want them destroyed just to look like an aftermath of a creeper war, so I just fill the holes they explode on.
