If you're looking to rent a dedicated server, I'd recommend either Server Mania, PhoenixNap/Secured Servers, or OVH. I prefer the first two over OVH, as OVH doesn't allow you to customize and upgrade your servers from what I've seen. I would discourage running 25+ Minecraft servers on a dedicated server with only 16GB of RAM. Overselling your nodes is not a good practice, so I suggest either expanding the RAM per dedicated server you're looking for, or plan on hosting less clients than you specified on it. I believe Server Mania and PhoenixNAP have a default of 5 IPs allocated to your server, adding more costs extra per month.
You bring up a good point. Overselling is a terrible practice, so I will be editing the IPs requested to 10, and hope that everything still works out.
So with any offer, the ability to upgrade freely would be nice so we can avoid overselling the nodes. We would also be interested in renting multiple servers as we expand.
Before you tell us not to, we will let you know that we do not care to hear that we shouldn't start a hosting company. We realize it is a VERY competitive market, which is why we already have potential clients lined up, and am continuing to find people first.
We are looking to start a Hosting Company (under a different name, of course), starting with a rented, dedicated server, and if everything works out, we will co-locate somewhere, eventually.
We (sort-of) have a complete business plan. If everything works out how we'd like it to, we have enough disposable capital for 3 months (if things don't work out by then, we will just have to be like the majority of hosts, who fail in their first month - not our plan though), a few clients already layed out, and various contacts that are potential clients.
Here is what we are looking for (However, do not expect an order tomorrow if you can match our offer as we are still looking at other options) :
- BUDGET: <$125 (would be great, unless you have an explanation as to why the price is higher, and can help us - read after the bolded stuff)
- We are looking to sell 1GB servers for $9-15 a piece (based on promo codes or not)
- >16GB total RAM
- 10+ IPs (or whatever is reasonable)
- Server Space - 500GB-1TB
- Network Speed (The greater, the better)
- Location: United States
If you cannot match the RAM with the price, please do not offer, or try to match us, as there is no way we could ever make money. At $9 a GB, a 16GB server (priced at $125/mo) could only make us $19 a month, if it's filled.

The Staff
With advice from many players, we have decided to close applications for staff.
We feel that, with a smaller server, it is better to have less, more active staff members. For this reason, we currently have only 2 staff members: David and Matt.
This may change in the future as the server changes and grows.

The Other Information
Any advice, requests, and complaints will be handled on the website.
WE ARE NOW HOLDING GIVEAWAYS, CONTESTS, AND EVENTS! Join the server today to take part!
First you need to deny access to the region. Do /region flag <region> entry deny. And then you need to add the groups you want to go into the area /region addmember <region> g:<group>.
Well what the heck. I've been trying and retrying that for the past 2 hours. I'll try again, but it didn't seem to work correctly for me.
I've been trying for the past 2 hours and I've searched about every site and nothing seems to work.
Here is what I am trying to do:
I am trying to make a certain region deny entry to certain groups. This will be for a staff and VIP area.
I've looked at and followed this, but it doesn't work for me. I've set the priority higher but it still doesn't work. I use GroupManager for my permissions.
Nothing is "future-proof". For all we know, we could all buy a computer today, and tomorrow some company develops some processor that is 10x faster for the same price.
Anyway, I actually plan on going out and buying a new laptop/desktop tomorrow (pre-assembled). My main use for it will be video editing for youtube and gaming. I plan to spend less than $700 while still not just wasting my money on something that can't handle "the future".
What I would suggest, is deciding on the top 15-20 programs/games that will be used the most on the machine, and list (in a word document or something), the recommended requirements for each program or game. Then take the highest, add a bit, and use that as your deciding factor. Don't just buy something because it's the most expensive or "This can handle 5x what it needs to." Downsize a bit and save a lot of money. That's my plan for tomorrow.
