Hey there, I see I found another fan continuing this awesome texture pack. I used to use this as well a while back. I was hoping I could find the original up to date, but seems the creator has stopped. I found another person on curse that was trying to revamp this but was out to date. Was wondering if there was any plan on updating so it could work with current minecraft version or even keep it going with added textures. Would love to be able to use this awesome style again, thanks for any work you may do in the future.
For those of you who got to see the Digitama textures a while back, their model versions are now finished. You can see them on my photobucket in the sub-album. We're adding both the models and textures in one of the updates after .5 along with the baby digimon I'm sure. We have the egg/hatching system planned out and all the items/models for it. Once coding for .5 is finished, it can begin for the egg system or champions whichever comes first. When we near close to .6 release we'll post how everything will work so by then everything decided is final. No need to tell you guys something will be in the mod and it not make it in.
So we would basically have to recapture them when they turn into eggs?-_____-
Is the three step system gonna a surprise until the mod is updated?
When your digimon die they will drop their egg so you never lose your actual digimon. I think it was agreed to also add random digimon eggs you can get either from spawns or another way. As for how it will all work...let's just say we're throwing some twists in there from what people would normally think. If things go well and we can add each element we want, it will be very exciting when your digimon dies and the task to re hatch it will keep you busy :wink.gif:
For some info about some of the future items if we can get them all in:
-Aside from the 12 digitama textures I did, I'm making an additional 12 that will be part of the twist.
-11 versions of the special item we plan on adding.
-We decided the best way to evolve the champions is through cards. I've also made 12 versions of those.
As far as what will be chosen and make it in the mod depends on how many items can be fit into the mod and if all the versions are going to be used for each type of digimon or 1 of the item versions for all of them. For example, the blue card itself instead of the blue card and all the other versions.
We just started talking about this eh 4 hours ago? or somewhere near that and the only thing left is to do the extra eggs tomorrow and talk it over. Then comes the code. After that we might be able to tell you guys more or keep it a secret! :ohmy.gif:
I'd suggest showing pics of the final product of models, that is if more are being made often. Digimobs used to take 3-5 days or sometimes a week to get a full forum page, but once I started making models every 2-3 days and sometimes a new one each day (even with the high detailed ones) and showing pics for a while it got a lot of attention. It grew quicker once more people started working too. Went from little views and chatter on the forums to 1-2 pages a day. When myself and some of the other modelers stopped, the popularity stopped as well. Atleast when it came to how active the forum was. People like to see what's being worked on and what's coming in the future. If you can show any progress by pics or talk about what you are working on through code people will show up. Keep up the good work on this mod.
Well then... it sure does seem this thread got the attention it's been wanting lol. A lot of activity recently. I will have to give credit to the guy that made that other digimon mod (NaruArth or whoever made it). The eggs were quite funny bouncing around. I never expected that and the way it was set up was probably my favorite part about the mod so you never lose your tamed digimon. Not sure how the digivolution animation was done, but it was impressive. The overall coding in that mod is very impressive and the digivice system looked amazing. Kudos on the flying digimon! Even though the way that mod was introduced to us was foul, the mod itself was done well, so good job! I'd give 5 stars for all the code work in that mod, but the models aren't as impressive. I guess I would just expect more or all ofthe digimon details to make it in their model like some of ours and have more accurate body figures. Atleast the models were animated. Having simpler models makes that a lot easier though. How long has that mod been worked on before the release of that video?
Back to Digimobs though, I'm looking forward to see what you guys have implemented in the next update. Hopefully the techne rounding fix will fix the models too so they will appear as they should and more can be added. I don't know how many models are still being made because I haven't been doing any recently. Not sure when I may start again, but it looks like the coders have a lot of work to do according to the votes so good luck.
~For anyone trying to cause friction between mods that have the same concept, just stop. For one it makes you look stupid randomly showing up and trying to cause issues between mod makers and their support, but it also gives the mod you are trying to support a bad name by trying to flaunt it on the opposite forum which is counter productive for your initial plan. With a mod being created from a popular show/game/idea there will always been duplicates of mods with the same concept, but with their own twist when making it. For anyone that wants a digimon mod, play either one or why not both mods or any other digimon mods out there. The creators make the mod out of personal interest and then open it up to the public so you can enjoy their work too. It's not like they are payed (unless through donations and the small amount of adfly...)to keep them updated and filled with content. Users of the mods and fellow supporters of ANY mod should just say good work or thank you.
Uh...gamer I asked for you to fix Naru's model I was going to do it myself but it was very hard you see he made the out of perportion model then in coding his whale mod he made The sizes coRrect
Yes. It was supposed to be a quick fix, but it came down to having to create a whole new model. With how busy I was back then working on the models for this mod I never got around to it. Sorry. I just brought it up b/c that was the only time I had heard of NaruArth. It still blows my mind how you can re size certain parts of a model and it still come together like it should through code. I guess it depends if angles are present or just boxes.
... and if anything had been discovered about the model disconfiguration. If it's not Techne and not MCP what is the issue? On a post Cyan you were talking about putting an "a" in front of numbers and it worked just fine. Numbers don't register right or something. What exactly did that fix? and does that apply if there is already text in front of a number. Example I mark all my models with their body part I'm building and then add A/B/C/etc or 1/2/3/etc not just the numbers.
BumpIt seems the minecraft forum is bugging out. Wasn't displaying posts so I made a duplicate =/. Now I can't delete the old one.

All I know about the other digimon mod creator is that I was contacted a while back to help fix a model for a "whale mod" for NaruArth, but never got around doing it. Well, being busy (back when I was making a model a day for this mod) and the fact the model was corrupt or something so I would have to create a new model, it never was completed. I'm bringing this up because it's a little fishy now he wanted the digimon Whamon as the whale model. If what Cyan said was the response he got from NaruArth, I'd suggest all modelers to stop posting your models via this forum. Send through Pm to Cyan only is my suggestion. With such a poor attitude of a response you never know if those models would be taken and re used. Even before all of this, I deleted my old model links of any I used to post here so they wouldn't be used without my permission. I don't know NaruArth or anything about he/she so I can't jump to conclusions about any of this. If someone finds this mod please post a link, I'd like to see it since it's so kickbutt.
Originally I came here to ask WTF was the video of the skeletons and "Little Butchies" of? and if anything had be discovered about the model disconfiguration. Impmon looks really good and i especially like the eyes and the grin. How did you do them just lots of angles to get them just right or moved 0.1 away in a layered fashion or even both.
Lots of angles you ask? YES! Anything you see with multi colors are either .1 inside one another or .1 outward. Everything had to be constructed on top of the other when it comes to the face with wholes shaped for the eyes/mouth/nose. Then I just layered those to make it appear as it does.
Tried coming here and got a redirection Trojan virus =_=, anyway thanks for the feedback with the colors for Impmon. Wasn't sure at first, but ended up changing the color of Impmon. Here's the final version and if checking the color out look at the ears. The program lights the body so it appears lighter than it really is except the head since he is so tall. The file turned out being over 9KB lol.
As always click the spoiler to see more.
Couple Features:
-Originally the photo I based this off of didn't have pointed fingers, but I felt it was needed since he does have claw like hands.
-Also added in seperated fingers instead of it just being 1 whole piece for the glove like some of the fingers.
-When I asked before "Cover the smiley face or don't?" some people wanted both, so the bandana isn't pushed into the body so when he turns you can see the whole smiley face.
-As far as wrinkles go for the bandana, not possible unless I have 2 layers which didn't look right so I did add in the crease on the bandana ties at the back.
-His legs bend inward from both the sides and back/front to create his style of large->skinny legs. Added little knees as well.
-The best feature of all is well...his face! Most difficult one to build so far in order to make it crystal clean with nothing sticking out. Includes the evil grin smile I asked about, and his eyes are actually layered outward instead of inward. Some modelers might understand that, but basically building inward allows for a lot easier angle work (it hides imperfections). Building outward you can't hide the layer of angles inside the layer above it so everything had to be perfect on both sides >_<.
I think that pretty much covers everything you can see in the photos. I did say I would do an alternate version. Since the smiley face has to be flat to create it's shape the stomach couldn't be curved out. Was going to also do an arched back/butt but once the tail was added it didn't seem needed.
Here's the original I was going to use to create more of a roundness of his body.
I was going to go back and create more curved edges, but with the way the first one looked I assumed most would prefer it over the alternate. Oh yeah for anyone that noticed the first model has longer foot claws and thicker legs.
Are Kiimon->Yaamon->Impmon all supposed to have the same purple? I did different ones off the pictures I used to build them so wondering if I should just use the same one. To me, they look different shades. I'd rather have the right colors instead of uploading pictures and then replacing them with new ones.
Impmon is pretty much finished now. Just need to tweak some things and see if I can do an alternate version. Probably not worth it with how the first turned out though.
And i am astonished, you have 16 models to be sent, are these the baby models mostly or are you just making loads of models for the fun of it O_o
When I first started doing models I did have a lot of them I planned on doing my own, but since the list jumped in size it covered most of my favorites, but I don't have the time to do models much now. Impmon will be the 27th digimon model I've done. That includes the Greymon/Black Greymon I just need to add stripes to. Doesn't include all the alternate versions I never used, but took the time to do. The 16 models to be sent are: Yes, all the babies, the Greymons, Calumon, Yaamon, and Impmon.
-At least 2 new digimon(4 depending on how Yaamon and Impmon are going)
Yaamon has been finished and since I didn't expect an update coming so soon I stopped on Impmon. As far as adding them I'd rather wait til we figure out what's going on with the models. I hate spending all my time making sure every angle is perfect so it looks clean and then when putting it in game, it ruins all my work. So far only 1 of my models came out as it should which was Tentomon for a short while. Clearly it's not your fault if it's Mcp messing things up. There's about 16ish models I think I haven't given you. Just waiting to see how the mod progresses and model bugs fixed. Been such an issue since we started adding them.
You said digimon will bite back when you hit them. Is this for the hostile digimon? If so it seems odd aggressive nature digimon would have to be hit to start a fight instead of them coming after you. Once the leveling system is in and you are actually searching for a fight to level up your digimon wouldn't it be strange to have to hit each one to engage battle?
@Knightdemon the models turned out great! The candelmon base looks pretty cool with the pattern even if it isn't like the picture I think you said. The special digimon though does look out of place. The eyes are way different and you have a lot of angles not even connecting. Several blocks sticking out of one another too.<- Just feedback, you don't have to change anything if you don't want to.
