Black Friday refers to stores having a sale to get back "in the black" actually. Used to be you recorded transactions in a ledger in either red ink or black ink to signify a surplus or deficit of income. Black ink signified you were making a profit.
I think one simple change might make this suggestion slightly more feasible: Flint tools.
Craft wood, find gravel, sift through it for flint. Make a flint pickaxe and bob's your uncle, you've gotten to stone and beyond.
I remember a long time ago someone suggested basically exactly this, except they also wanted to remove punching trees for wood and have the player break leaf blocks for sticks. Leaf blocks actually do drop sticks now, dropping the wood tools entirely for a flint tier could make things make some more sense and make starting out a bit more engaging. The flint axe would have to be more of a hatchet and fit in the 2x2 grid, though.
Guys, I think he's asking for command blocks to be able to sense when a player says a certain thing like they can test for players being in a certain place, not the ability to program custom commands in game.

Inhabited by an odd mixture of various types of golem created by wizards, who then subsequently escaped or were rescued. Due to their origins, many resent magic users who dabble in golemancy, believing them to be tyrants with little regard for their creations' sapience. As a result of this, the nation regularly finds itself in conflict with nations who have a high number of spellcasters. This is not to say that there are not those who practice the arcane arts within their borders, but because many of them were created with barely enough intelligence to perform a certain task, it is rare to find a golem smart enough to do so.
Leader: Mani, the Clockwork Golem. An experimental golem, Mani was an attempt at creating a golem that could be upgraded later without magic by switching in new parts. As is often the case with magical experiments, something went wrong, and the wizard who did it ended up dead. However, part of his soul was infused into the forming golem's mind. This gave the result intelligence on par with a rather inept caster, but a caster nonetheless.
Considering it's client-side only, this actually would make sense as an optional thing. That way people with less than stellar computers wouldn't have to stand still when holding a torch..

There was a time when I would have said something like this was too complicated for Minecraft.
Then banners happened and I loved them.
In short, I think the idea would be great, but should maybe be a low priority thing.
Edit: Come to think of it, I think there was a suggestion for exactly this that I did say was too complicated. Might be worth trying to dig that up.
