Personally, i don't like the books (haven't seen the movie, but who cares)
It seems to me that the series is in a bi-polar state in terms of target audience. They are marketed to teens, but seem to appeal to the 18+ crowd. I know many adults that read the Hunger Games, yet i see every kid in middle and high school reading it.
From what i've made out from reading this myself, the series is a combination of social commentary, romance, and violence. And from each of the three books in the series, they seem to differ in what chemestry they take on.
Example:
Hunger Games- primarily violence and romance, Social Commentary is minimal
Catching fire- Social Commentary with some romance, violence on the side
Mocking Jay- overkills all three
I see that most people will find themselves reading this for one of these reasons. Boys- violence. Girls- romance. Adults- Social commentary. If you want to read about any of the three and think you'll find it satisfying in the HG, i suggest reading something else.
Hell, the actual "games" take up like, 20% of the entire series. And most people find themselves reading the HG for the game it'self.
Keep in mind these are my opinions, goodnight, Earth.

Although they are a pain. Ever tried Minecraft Survival games? Imagine 2,000 people fighting for a spot in a 24 slot server. Then finally getting in, then it lags your computer to suicide due to the other people trying to connect.

To get rid of the creepers, i used the same dispensers and replaced the eggs with fire charges.
Lets just say there were a LOT of burning creepers...
