Sorry to grave dig with this post, but this needs to be said. This map is an awesome idea, but poorly executed. For some reason everyone has nothing but good things to say about it so I thought I would point out the huge and obvious flaws in this map. For one, things are extremely poorly explained. ESPECIALLY the puzzle section. All of the "puzzles" are really just patience tests. There's nothing "puzzling" about them, except the way the riddles are worded. With no hints or identifying markers, I got through the colored carpet section by sticking one of each color in each chest until I made it through by trying LITERALLY every combination. The sheep thing disgraces puzzles everywhere. We'll call it the "lure sheep to their deaths until a door opens" puzzle. And the doorways? I'm sorry, but since when is "Red moves arrow resets at five" a clue? Since when is that a meaningful statement? But after seeing some of the other branches I'm not surprised it makes no sense, since the majority of the map doesn't make sense. The arena Branch? How about the "stand in the middle and spam the mouse" branch. The majority of the mobs spawn so slowly, I kill one and get ready for the next before it spawns. And the boss battle branch? More like the "die until you shoot the wither thing enough for it to hover to the floor, then use your arena training to spam him until he dies" That wasnt a challenge, that was me running around after I died trying to get back to the cage so I could shoot him with my arrows three more times then get killed. Rinse and repeat. The fact of the matter is, I could go on all day about the problems this map has, but I doubt anyone will even read this so why bother.

    TL;DR

    Good concept, bad execution

I had to place ore veins in a floating island about 100x100 blocks by hand so it's not impossible! XD

Use MCedit then google some filters that will do what you want. It may take some searching, but I found it so you can too.

Well for whatever reason I can't get MCedit to work in minecraft, and using it by itself is like impossible. I'll have to try something else I guess.

Is there some kind of program or easy way to put tunnels and ore veins into a big chunk of solid stone? I would really like to not have to hand carve tunnels! Plus putting ore veins everywhere would be impossible! Thanks for any help!

how dplay the map, ive downloaded it but i cant figure out how to play it its annoying!!!

You have to put the map save into your minecraft folder. Open your start menu and type %appdata% into the search bar and hit enter. Then go to .minecraft, then saves, then drag the folder you downloaded into saves. Make sure you open the downloaded folder and use the folder inside, as there is a mac save and a PC save in the downloaded folder.

Great map BTW OP, it's really fun. A friend of mine is gonna download it tomorrow, and we're gonna hopefully do a LP, but we might just take a bunch of screenshots. Either way, I'll be back!

Hey, I've reached a bit of a standstill with the gameplay. I can't make an infinite water source. I tried the thing where you place it and let if flow down, then remove the source, but it all just goes away (this is the video i watched on how to do it: ) I followed it exactly but it didn't work, I'm not sure why. I just opened a LAN world and gave myself a bucket of water, but I would really like to know if I was doing something wrong. Again, I followed that video exactly. Thanks in advance for any help.

False. You can't build below y=0. In normal terrain gen, bedrock can form in 0 <= y <= 4. If the bedrock is at y=1,2,3,4, then you can build below it (especially if in creative). Also, as this is a custom map, it wouldn't be unfeasible, especially with custom superflats, to have bedrock at 40 or so to allow unaccessible parts.

Well the bedrock is at y=0 Dwight. (nice reference btw) and I already have way too much work to start over

Try perhaps making little tubes in the water for each player, and the redstone under the bedrock, as stated above, if you insist on doing redstone.

Hint: Telling people you use a hacked copy of Minecraft is a fast way to make enemies here. Be more discrete, heck, a PM is better. I had to restrain myself from ranting at you ;)

http://www.minecraft...t/wiki/Repeater is a good page on how the repeaters work, should give you basics of how to use them. When powered from the wide part of the triangle on them, they power redstone in front of them for another set of blocks. That's pretty much all you need to know for basic signal extending.

Open to LAN won't work unless everyone that wants to help you moves to your house, sits on your couch, and uses your internet. If you want people to hop into your world, you'll need to host a server for people to come to.

For a non-redstone alternative, a few command blocks can allow for all players to be positioned right.

    You can't build below bedrock...

    1. You can't use redstone underwater, so you'd need to put a cover over top of it. Or just place it beneath the bedrock....

    2. Repeaters extend the signal.

I tried repeaters, but the didn't work. Am I doing something wrong?

I'll help. But it has to be on a cracked 1.4.4 server. My minecraft name is ideacreeper149.

To make it cracked, go to properties file and turn online mode to false.

Haha that's a little too technical. Can't I just hit the "open to LAN" button?

Hey guys, I'm currently making a map of the arena for the Hunger Games in Catching Fire, and I need some pistons to push players up at the start, but unfortunately I need to lay the redstone under water and have all 16 pistons connect up to one switch. The signal also can't reach the whole way, so I need to know how to make a signal continue farther. There's a three block tall area of water that the redstone needs to go in, with bedrock at the bottom. :Water: :Water: :Water: :opblock:

That's what it looks like, rotated 90 degrees counter-clockwise. If any one can tell me how to do this, or would like to do it themselves, let me know. If you do it yourself, I will give you full credit for your work in the respawn area, and huge thank you in the forum post for the map download. Anyone who posts a helpful comment here will also get mentioned in the forum post. Thank you!

Hey guys! Wow, it's been almost a year, if not more, since the last time I was on here! I lost all the maps that I was working on, and I think I'll be scrapping them and starting from scratch.

So as none of you remember I'm sure, since I barely do, I was working on Dome Survival, and a couple of Hunger Games maps. I'll be reviving those projects, and I'll also be starting work on a new one, based off of Skyrim! I say based off, but it will actually be as near as I can get to Whiterun, with the exception (maybe) of the surrounding country side, but if I can get the hang of MCedit, I will be doing the surrounding country side as well!

It feels good to be back, I can't wait to get started again, but I felt with the way I just left you guys last time it wouldn't be right to start again until I posted on here. Most of the people who read this won't have the slightest idea what I'm talking about, but that's okay! All you need to take away from this is that I will be making some seriously awesome maps very soon!

First off, I would just like to say that this is NOT a building job for a movie or video series. I am making an adventure map and I need a few select people to help me with that. I will be taking on no more than three (3) people, as it isn't a very large scale project as of now.
