May 12, 2014GCSterling posted a message on Mojang Shutting Down? Not A Chance! What an idiot. As stated above Mojang makes millions of dollars a year; therefore will be atleast 20-40 years before it will go down. Whoever started this has no brain.Posted in: News

No no no, choke-point. xD not check point. Like somewhere you can get an advantage over the people to kill them. Anyways, did you not read my other post? I clearly said that attack speeds will be hacked like every other hack. ._. i'm not new to hackers, I play on servers regularly with loads of them. Sorry if it sounded like it was a surprise to me, it's not. I'm just stating that introducing the attack speed will not cancel out spam clicking because not only will hackers abuse it and remove it, but people will still spam click for the fun of it.
And yes, you're right. Part of the skill system in the old people was clicking, not jitterclicking. Not everyone can jitter click. And how do you suppose you're going to hit people? just click once or twice? No, clicking fast is part of the PVP that actually allows you to attack.
We're not talking about minigames here, since those are much better in 1.8 and will be in 1.9. Other games like FFA arenas, or Survival Games, is what I'm talking about. Minigames usually have a twist to them that others don't, such as power ups, or special classes, etc...
Ugh. It depends on skill, haven't I already said this? You can fight a 2 team with full iron head on and most likely lose...BUT! Depending on their skill you could win. For instance, I've killed a 2 of team by thinking about what I was doing before I tried to fight them. I didn't just rush in, I split them up and then killed one while the other was too far away to help. I then killed the other after.
See? It does NOT matter about armor or weapons, it's about strategy and actually thinking before you go barging in. I would've died before I fought them if I didn't split them up.
Also, since you don't seem to understand what i mean by splitting them up, let me explain:
You're getting chase by 2 guys, so, you try to take a shortcut. The other teamate decides he will try to cut you off. While he's away, you attack the one behind you, kill him, and then run to regen to full health to kill the other guy.
this is my last post here, I could go on but I know the argument will keep going. Long story short, I will not play 1.9 PVP because it adds new issues to the current ones, and does not fit most pvp game types. PEACE

Oh, and one more thing before I leave this thread(not interested in arguing), let's say you see a team of 2 and they are chasing you, what do you?
A: Run up to them and "spam click" them.
B: Find a chokepoint and try to kill them that way.
C: Split them up and then kill one of the separated members.
Honestly, which one sounds like you have a much higher chance of living? You can live through all of these but one of them is a very slim chance.
If you just run in and try to kill them they will kill you instead, if you damage one enough, he'll back up and the other will come in.
If you chokepoint them you can get them low on health and then go in to kill them, or they will run away because they're low.
If you split them up and kill one, there's pretty much no reason that you'll die. Not only is it less damage to be taken but it's just a 1-on-1 fight. Then, you kill the other one when you're full on health and he comes to get you.

See? That's what I said above, people are acting like it will save pvp when it will bring up more problems.

I'm not crying about it. I'm pointing out blatant facts that you failed to mention, calling pvp "spam clicking" is the dumbest thing I've heard about it. There's much more too it than just that. Strategy currently IS involved to do well in pvp; in fact, I can't even jitterclick and have a decent click speed and am quite good at PVP. And again, one of the only things I don't like about 1.9 so far is the attack speed. I will most likely play it in single player when it comes out, but not in PVP. I don't hate 1.9, just don't like features of it.

you're completely wrong about the pvp part, mostly. Firstly I would like to say that the only reason I am not liking 1.9 so far is because of unnecessary changes, such as item attack speed. I haven't used shields myself but I think they're pretty cool, also the new arrows. I love the new commands and the creations people are making with them.
Okay, so now the PVP part. You've obviously never player PVP that much otherwise the part about it would be much much different; let me explain:
First off, PVP is NOT just a spam click fest, that is only to get hits on people. Second, people with the better armor only win based on your skill. Have you seen videos of people doing "Full leather challenge" and killing full iron people with diamond swords? If you're bad, you won't win against a full iron guy, on the other hand if you're skilled enough to kill them you can with pretty much with anything. In fact, people have actually done challenges where they wear no armor and still win. Thirdly, 1.9 PVP is only "saving" it in some parts, such as strategy as you mentioned. Although you did need strategy to kill people before, it has been much improved on. The parts it's not saving it on is attack speeds and shields, PVP now is fast paced, PVP with 1.9 will be this:
"Oh a guy! Let's go fight him!" Attacks once. Waits, attacks again. Waits, attacks again. And shields, "Oop, blocked that hit!", and again, and again, and again...
So invigorating, right? And you know how most servers are either downgrading or allowing 1.7 versions from 1.8, right? 1.8 PVP was worse than 1.7 pvp and no one liked it. Hence why they reverted it back to 1.7. And since none of the changes were, well, changed in 1.9 from 1.8 pvp, I doubt any servers besides roleplay PVP or servers like that will upgrade. And if they do, the community will be mad and move on to another server, and the owners can't have that. No one wants to play on an empty server, so they allow 1.7/1.8 to be used.
I don't want to start an argument but these are my thoughts on your post, an opinion, I guess.

Don't know if you're joking or not, but if you are just ignore this post.
Microsoft just bought Mojang, therefore they have control over all the games they have made but (so far) I don't think have made any changes to any of them...including Minecraft.

Mine was a giant back in beta 1.2...I played Minecraft in the beginning with single player commands/some hack that my brother had installed. I was spawning giants and didn't realize I hadn't turned infinite health on...yeah it was frightening.
Kinda odd, but blame my brother for installing mods.

smh. I'm learning to develop games and will never be like this, or at least try.
You'd think that as the game progresses the system requirements would lower, or at least stay the same through the entire process, because of optimizing, right? My computer doesn't even fit into the minimum requirements...what is Mojang thinking? If they don't start acting now the pressure will build and eventually explode into millions of angry people(as myself) addressing the low FPS and the optimizations that could be done but haven't/won't.
Thanks for explaining, it's really interesting to read long posts such as these, I especially enjoyed reading sp614x's post about this.

All of those things you listed also happen to me; I'm also using Optifine. It's not any better in vanilla so I prefer Optifine for the customization.

I've completely stopped playing Minecraft for this reason, only this: 1.8 is the laggiest and worst update Mojang has ever released. I used to get 120+ FPS in 1.7x, no stuttering, no chunk loading problems, this was also on medium to max settings. Today in 1.8 I get around 40-70 FPS, and it stays in that range; there are an unbearable amount of chunk loading issues and frequent stutters.
Tell me, is this just on my side? Or everyone having problems with this? I know most people were complaining about the lag in the full 1.8 release, but I'm talking about that and the newer releases, like 1.8.7. I have everything lowered to lowest of the lowest, and get many stutters and FPS issues. I even get better FPS on max settings rather than the lowest settings.
For me at least, this was possibly the most disappointing update for me. I can't even play Minecraft itself anymore due to these problems. These "optimizations" Mojang did, did nothing at all.
I'd really appreciate it if someone can explain this odd phenomenon to me, thanks.

I love raiding Water Temples, the only thing that actually challenges me a little. I've only died once in mine but that's because I just for a minute and my invis potion ran out, so I had to go back and get all my stuff and occasionally check my potion timer. But now I'm terrified to go in them because I had a nightmare where I was streaming or talking to someone/people and was in a Water Temple with them, it was like midnight in the nightmare, and I heard knocking on my door that leads up to my roof(note this door is outside). After a moment or two of knocking it changed to angry banging, like it was gonna break my door down. I told my people to hold on so that way I could go see what it is, and when I went over to my door there was this shadow like creature that looked at me, and screamed. Of course I ran and then I woke up from that dream.
So yeah I'm kinda paranoid that the next time I go into a Water Temple a shadow alien-thingy will appear at my door and scream at me. XD

I think the ball of fire needs to be worked on a little, otherwise these are pretty good.

Oh okay, for me the best one was imgur and then the 2nd was postimg...because you just uploaded it and took the image url. i wouldn't recommend using Photobucket as the ads are insanely unbearable.

You could try to use photobucket, postimg, or maybe a few other image hosting websites. Why weren't you using a host to begin with?
