While we're on the subject.. what's everyone's thoughts on the update with the biggest community outcry? I'm guessing 1.9, but that was fairly recent so I may be biased.
By far it was Beta 1.8

Useful bugs? A bug is a bug is a bug. Explotion bugs is NOT something to actually be proud of, just like someone proudly saying "Hey I found out that if I go in reverse direction in that one-way road by driving over 80 mph, I can reach the other intersection before the light turns red, and it makes for a nice shortcut to go to work!" is a fool. That's a bad anology to be honest. There are plenty of harmless, yet useful bugs. Quasi-connectivity serves as the best example. Translocation was debated for a long time but now I think most programmers would agree it needed to be removed. But it still wasn't a bad bug. The pigmen agro bug that's been in the game since 1.8 still has not been fixed, and thankfully too, because you can make awesome farms with it. Almost every redstoner will agree that the first version of PC observer blocks were legions better than the current, albeit Mojang never intended to make them a cool block.
Unwanted changes? Accordiong to who? Only you? Most PC version changes were good things. Peop-le complain in the short run then adapt. Unwanted changes according to many, many players. Every update adds cool stuff, but also some extremely stupid stuff. Some people hate just to hate, and finally get used to things. Some people like me don't hate just to hate. There are some things added into the game that people never stop complaining about, and for good reason. 1.9 literally ruined PvP. Good thing I'm not an avid PvPer. Some of the nerfs to villager trading in 1.8 are very stupid. They should have never changed the Anvil mechanics either. Also, there are people who like everything Mojang does and act as if you cannot disagree with what they do. These people are equally as bad as those who like to ride the hate train.
And we'd have no more wanted changes, either. Talk about seeing only one side of the coin! What they need to do is only listen to the community from now on. Many people like to use the excuse that this is Mojang's game and they can do what they want, which is a retarded argument. Game developers design games for other people, not for themselves. Mojang has never said anything along the lines of, "this is our game, we do what we want", and to an extent I highly doubt they think like that either. They do listen to the community sometimes but they also don't listen in some matters. Sometimes they even try to make changes that purposely affect playstyles they dislike, like when they wanted to nerf iron golems. We all can play the game how we want and they should not try to ruin that for us.
Personally I play PC edition exclusively. And also EXCLUSIVELY with mods since just about forever, because vanilla is way too easy and simple and bland for me (always has been - vanilla lasted me only a couple months). So yeah I really hope the PC edition will continue to grow and get better. I'm a bit sad to see most of the developement efforts going to the other versions instead.
Pocket Edition just has way too bad of an interface that really crimps gameplay. Nothing can beat the easy of use and flexibility of a real keyboard and mouse. It's good to play while riding the bus to pass 15 minutes at a time or something, but not for more "serious" gaming sessions. And crafting from a scroll-down pick-list, that just doesn't have the same charm to it than a nice graphical semi-intuitive 3x3 Crafting Table grid. I'm fine with the PE interface, lol. XD
I know java and json are causing complications, headaches and problems, that it's much harder to code stuff for the PC version than the other popular versions. I had high hopes for Windows 10 Edition, but that felt like "Pocket for PC", a version made to run both on a full PC and on tiny Windows 10 devices too. Not a new PC edition with a stronger and faster language behind it, that would be able to take advantage of the full power of a PC setup. Windows 10 is just getting started, they plan for it to have all the features of PC and more as soon as possible. No doubt it will take a while for PC to become like all the rest, not vice versa sadly.
Getting that MOD API we've been promised for years on end, not a cheap very limited knockoff (which add-ons, at best, are), but something complete, that is able to support more or less all the kinds of mods that we have seen with PC Edition, and adding that API to ALL the versions, would IMHO be a necessary step before starting messing up with the PC edition's future. Yeah, add-ons are dumb, and everything is becoming part of an in-game store, because these days you never buy a game and get the full package. If you do, there will always be some type of extra features you must buy to have. Smh.
And I mean doing the API in both languages (java and C). A Mod API is an Application Programming Interface, something placed between some core code (in this case here the Minecraft game program), and some external third party code. Absolutely NOTHING prevents such a code library from being made in more than one programming language, because at their core they are INTERFACING code. You know that, given the proper environment, Java code can call C++ routines, and vice-versa, right? So even the argument that modders would need to learn another language is also little bit flakey. If done well, you could have some mods written in java, calling the java API, and some other mods written in C++, calling the C++-API, and both APIs would be able to call the java or the C++ programs, and it would all work seamlessly. If done well.
But it seems Microsoft wants to move away from letting modder make free extra content, going more for "paid-for add-ons" over which they have more control. So yeah if that direction is true then it's going to be a harsh future for the Minecraft PC version. All other "C++ language" versions sharing the same features, while the PC version slowly lags more andm ore behind in a worse way than if just abandoned. Keeping changing the PC version a little bit only, is actually worse, for modders, than being told "ok, this PC release here is a strong one, and we stop there". When a modder has to not only recompile but also needs to fix his mod for each and every dang new release, that means we get a constant erosion of the number and quality mods that are available for the latest release. That is the opposite of a mod API, where you wouldn't have to recompile at all (well, at least most of the time). Interesting.
So yeah if my intent was to crush any modding, I wouldn't just stop developing the PC version all in one go. Instead I'd slowly, ever so slowly, strangle it down, bit by bit, adding non-compatible stuff in each release, in order to "spread out" all the good mods over as many releases as possible, knowing full well that a modder that made a good mod won'ty like to constantly recode it for new releases, slowly wearing down the modding community, basically providing the worst possible modding experience for both modder (maximum maintenance weffort required), and for their players who like to play their mods (can't play with latest release + mod combo they like).
If my intent was the opposite, to open up "for free" modding, then I'd rush to make the modding API, and to make it good and working for all platforms and both languages too.

And force all of the map makers, modders, and server creator to learn how to code in an entirely new language and recreate everything from scratch?
Another reason to leave the Java edition alone. It's great that they want every version to be identical, and with every device getting it's own version, I think they should leave the Java version to be unique. Maybe stop developing it all together. That way no more useful bugs will be fixed (and no more unwanted changes).
Why are featured videos on this site almost always created by big YouTubers? Why not advertise for smaller YouTubers and get them noticed? I see plenty of great stuff on small channels...
Fire Red instead of Leaf Green?!
I would upvote this if I could
I don't see why this is even a thread. There are so many people who have completely cleared an ocean monument out in survival mode it's not even funny. It is a daunting feat and impressive thing to do, but nothing special considering how many people have done it. You can type "ocean monument cleared out" in google and click on images and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Yeah he told me that he made it up to trick me a few hours ago XD.

What iStatis says is true.

I was afking at my mob farm on my SMP server and after a friend checked on me he told me it's not a good idea to afk with armor on in case I die, then another friend told me that less armor also increases the amount of mob spawns. He proceeded to show me this snippet of code here:
public class MobSpawn
{
public static void main(String[] args)
{ final int ARMOR_POINTS = 20;
for(int i = 0; i < NUM_FACTS; i++)
System.spawnmob( i - ARMOR_POINTS = SpawnMobAmount(i));
}
public static int MobSpawnB(int n)
{ int result = ARMOR_POINTS <0;
for(int i = 2; i <= n; i++)
result Armor_Points= i *15;
return result;
}
}
So does this really mean that less armor increases the amount of spawns?

1. It's "expensive", not, "expansive".
2. I've seen one for $500 before.

I am sorry, but you have been declined.

Good luck finding another server.

You have all been accepted! Welcome! And to Aurolite, I'm guessing your IGN is the same as your forum name?

What is most likely the highest amount of diamonds you can find in a stronghold or nether fortress?

I highly suggest you apply here

He/She can most definitely run the game at max settings with a rig like that. To be honest I didn't even think this was a serious question when I saw it.

This is my favorite type of server.

Completely vanilla.

Lol I doubt there's many other players that care to track the amount of ores they have mined besides you. I definitely think what you have done is doable though, considering all the other posts I've seen from you over the years. You know what would be cool? A mod (or better yet an added feature) that tracks the amount of diamonds you have mined, including the ones you have gotten from using fortune. It'd also be nice if this excluded diamond ore broken that your player has placed from their inventory. I'd like to know how many diamonds I've actually gotten from caving or mining.

As the others have said the only difference from a normal creeper and a charged one is that they cause skeletons, zombies, wither skeletons, and other creepers to drop their heads if they kill them with their explosion, as well as their explosion being much more potent (I believe a normal creeper's explosion deals 49 damage whereas a charged creeper deals 97, which is more powerful than TNT).
Here is a much better farm you can use (can be scaled). Keep in mind that all charged creeper farms are pretty damn slow, especially when thunderstorms are rare in the first place.
