posted a message on Piston-based Land Vehicles
    Quote from Sting_Auer

    These aren't really vehicles, technically.

When I first mentioned this, I was talking about being able to have a sticky piston push another sticky piston, even when it was expanded. That way you could make a "crawler" type machine that could move itself across the ground.

Redstone would also have to be made to stay on blocks that are pushed by pistons.

    And thats a vehicle.

I don't like vehicles in Minecraft.

What? FLint doesn't have any of those properties.

And the uses for this flint block can be replaced by other blocks/items instead.

posted a message on cannons and ballistas
Recipes are too overpowered and doesn't really go with the 'leveling up' style of Minecraft.

We can build cannons without them anyway.

posted a message on 'Catapult' Pistons
    Quote from gaga654

That's where this catapult piston will be different; it can move at a speed that more realistically 'flings' things.

Yea, but in what uses can this flinging feature be implemented?

    Quote from Badprenup

Well I know Jeb was doing pistons, not Notch. I think Jeb said he took that out because he thought it was silly. I think that removing half the use of an item because it is silly is rather silly itself.

Well for me the catapulting feature is NOT half of the use of the pistons.
We still can do so much with it.

It is a bit silly, the piston 'moves' too slowly for it to the plausible that the human will be catapulted.

By that logic, do levers even have any use? Just use buttons and a T Flip-Flop, right?

    Levers save more resources.
Also, some people may not be able to figure out how to make a T Flip-Flop.
    Thus the lever was born.

posted a message on gunpowder crafting
    Quote from ahnialator6

I'm not an idiot, PugRme, I know that gunpowder has sulfur, (char)coal, and potassium nitrate in it (although, sulfur and (char)coal works, as well as other combinations), but I don't think that Notch will want to put two otherwise useless materials in Minecraft, as opposed to one, just to make the crafting more realistic.

Also, I dont feel like retyping to add another quote (as I'm typing this I have no idea how to add another quote without starting over...), but anyway, I'm agreeing with AnonTheMouse in the fact that I was thinking it would make the game a little more realistic in gameplay.

In fact, playing Minecraft on peaceful, as opposed to the other difficulties, can actually make the game more realistic in a way (aside from the fact that there are no threats from other entities).

Its Minecraft, I don't like making it more realistic.

If you want gunpowder so much, just make a mob trap.
Gives a full stack of TNT a day.

    Quote from solarregis

What if they had the capabilites of Stone or Wooden Tools, but with infinite uses? Can't imagine them being too bad since the latter can only really break cobblestone...

Then what's the point of using them??
    People will stick with diamonds.
    I dont like this idea.

posted a message on Dogs Finding Ores
Ores don't have smells, the last time I checked.
Dogs should be able to find something, but not ores.
Its too easy, and caves + dogs = bad idea.
The dogs will jump into lava and get fall damage.

We can just be creative with the stuff we have to make furniture.

Two signs and a wooden step = chair.

This isn't neccessary, but I like it.

posted a message on WaterProof Lights
    Quote from KaosRitual

Glowstone is rare. The light should stay the same, as it goes down by 2 levels every block in water anyway.

    What are you talking about?
    They're everywhere in the Nether.

You can also use jack-o-lanterns, or just surround a torch with glass.

This kind of suggestion is a "Its-too-hard-to-do-something-and-I-don't-like-it" suggestion.
