I think dyeable cotton would do enough for 'colored blocks' for construction. If we're going to put in more stone/ore they should have a use. At least the ores, anyway.

Gold has (almost) no use and that's in. I think at least the addition of silver and copper would be great. Then we could have craftable currency :)!

Yeah, because the only valid currency would be an exact copy of World of Warcraft! We can't have money unless it's the same as WoW!
What next? Tier 10 diamond armour?

Please don't tell me that you really think WoW was the first game to use those things as currency. Please.

Also, still hoping for thatched roof that can be crafted from wheat.

    6 buckets-32$
    4 iron bars-27$

That is completely and utterly wrong.

If four iron bars are worth $27, then one would be worth $6.75. It costs three iron to make a bucket, so that's $20.25 for just one bucket. Multiply that by six and you get $121.50, and if you're trying to measure Minecraft by real world money you might as well add on a bit since whoever you're buying it from would likely actually want to make a profit, probably bringing the cost to around $150 or so, maybe higher.

Go back to math class! :P

But yeah, if power outages happen often enough for this to be a problem for you, just back up your world often.

I will resume work on the forest biome the instant this whole mess is sorted out. I really would like to work on it some more, but that's kind of impossible at the moment. D:

Edit: Just noticed that I have been well and thoroughly trumped. There is absolutely no reason anyone should not play that map, it is amazing. I concede defeat.

Updates postponed to never, and at the rate things were going at it may have already been that way anyways. It was fun working on this map, and hey, maybe I'll make some other cool one soon! No promises though, because then I'd almost certainly end up breaking them.

Tried that a few times already, it didn't help at all. I don't see how it would, if there's some sort of corrupted chunk as you said...

Gonna be patched soon I bet... But as keel said, yeah...

It's been in for months now, ever since signs were released I think. There's not much reason to think that Notch will suddenly fix it now.

Try not to build on a Unexplored Chunk....T_T

I haven't, at least to my knowledge. o.o I explored a very large area around the spawn before I began any work on this map at all, and the forest biome is nowhere near the edge of explored chunks.

I think I saw that in the aesthetically pleasing house thread (or whatever it was called). Signs on the side of cloth blocks to make a bed and signs on the side of stairs to make couches and chairs.

Additionally, if you're on a snow map, a thin layer of snow makes a good pillow for beds.

If you have half blocks and quick reflexes, you can place the half block where the diamond ore was just after you mine it, and the half block will catch the diamond. Otherwise, you can use a bucket of water to get under the diamond and build a catching platform from there, though it'll take longer and can be dangerous.

It's diamond, you have to work for it. :P

    when is the next update?

After all this broken map stuff is sorted out, it should only take a few days. I start school on Monday though, so that might slow things down a bit, but probably not by much.

Ocean for the win, but desert is in the lead. D=

Plus there's also the fact that forest was in the lead when I started working on the map, so if ocean doesn't pull up before I finish off the forest biome (that is, if we can ever get the map problems solved), it'll actually be three updates away.

Well, us here in Canada, we don't start until Monday. I have some orientation **** tomorrow. It's only four hours though.

I live in America and I don't start until Monday either. :o We were going to start this week, but the school's moving to a new building so they pushed it back a week so they could be absolutely sure the new building was ready.

I didn't even know that there was an MSPA avatar fad going on until about a week or two ago, but I've been using MSPA avatars pretty much ever since I joined back in February I think. Pretty sure this is my fifth one. :o

To be honest I kind of feel retroactively unoriginal now. :c

=_= I found out the problem, there seems to be a broken chunk....

Well that's quite odd, since I haven't actually explored any new chunks after I first released this map. Can chunks just randomly become broken after being fine for a while?

Also, much more importantly, is there any way to fix it other than waiting for Notch to fix the broken chunk problem? A couple people managed to play the mapbefore by recalculating the light (even though I already did that with NBT Forge several times even before all this broken map business), but as you said, most programs apparently broke their light recalculation...

I start my freshman year in a little less than a week. :c

It's kind of cool though, the normal school's being remodeled or something so most of our classes (all of them except PE and our electives) take place in this cool office building sort of thing.
