Never mind i got out :D I used NBTedit and gave myself a lot of hearts and TNT and made the TNT blast me up onto a ledge. its hard :(

That's really overcomplicating things, but congratulations on getting out. :P

Actually I'm pretty sure half blocks work, if you have some spare. If not I have no idea how I managed to safely get out of lava once. If you don't have some spare, well...the best advice I can give you is to get out a crafting table and whip some up as fast as possible. Then again, that's provided you even keep a ready-built crafting table with you at all times. :P

If you don't want to risk it, use NBTedit to give yourself 9999 hearts first.

posted a message on minecraft is scary
Sometimes I try to play in a mode other than peaceful and when I'm not in my monster feet attacker bunk. This usually results in me pausing and going back to peaceful at the first twang of an arrow. I don't even care if it's possible to get your stuff back now, I simply cannot fathom ever leaving my house outside of peaceful. (The fact that I use lava floor lanterns to light my mines instead of torches doesn't help, on the off chance a monster did spawn in one tiny unlit area down there it'd be all too easy for it to kill me and for my stuff to fall in one of my lanterns.)

I will be so useless in SMP. :B

posted a message on Problem with Infdev crashing when new terrain loads
It's possible that those mountains reach above the buildable area of the map, which I heard can sometimes cause crashes. I don't think there's really anything you can do about it, except avoid that area until it's fixed. D:

    posted a message on Enchantments!
Considering how extremely difficult most of the crystals are hard to get, and how even if you do get one there's still a good chance the enchantment won't work, even flight, underwater breathing, and lava invincibility don't seem unreasonable. :P But maybe as a compromise for those three, armor could very slowly wear down while performing those activities? Flight should be pretty slow, too, so that if you were being attacked by somebody in the sky it'd at least be possible to arrow them. Dark crystal seems a bit easy to get compared to the others too, maybe you have to kill at least three players or something to get a shot at it?

In an arctic area, either aboveground if land-claim flags are implemented by then, or underground if they haven't.

posted a message on Complete comparison between Indev and Infdev?
I prefer Infdev, because of the smoother day/night transition, better trees, respawnability, and of course the sense of freedom. (Though exploring will really only be worth it once different climates are added.) I don't mind the absence of caves, strip mining's pretty fun if you ask me, especially if you create huge labyrinths out of your mines. :P Water physics don't really effect gameplay a whole lot except for farming, and if you're really that bugged by it you can just hack water in.

Too bad that I crash fairly often in Infdev though...

Oh good. Now I will know where to find you in multiplayer.

Good luck guessing which server I play on! And also guessing where, out of a map 8 times the surface area of the earth, where I'll choose to spawn! And then you can have fun trying to destroy my house and steal all my diamonds while I laugh at the fact that you don't know what a land-claim flag is.

posted a message on Pretty much constant crashing. :/
As I said, I'm way too poor to buy pretty much anything out of the $10-$20 range, and hell, I've only had $100 to my name once or maybe twice in my life. :P I'll just have to hope that I get good enough grades for my mom to buy me a new computer next year and just deal with this until then. Oh well.

The processor is irrelevant; it's stable and playable at 25-30fps on my netbook's 630mHz Pentium III with 2Gb of DDR2 RAM.

Well I don't know much about computers but that sounds a lot better than what I've got. :P

It's kind of weird though, my computer plays games with high quality 3d graphics and stuff just fine.

posted a message on The most stupid thing you have done.
I made an underground road and decided to connect it to the surface to see what I'd find. When I got above ground I explored around a bit, found a small coal vein, then decided to head back, before realizing that I couldn't remember where the staircase that went back underground was. Then the game crashed, and the staircase wasn't saved, leaving me in the middle of nowhere with no way back. After a while decided to make a chest and put my stuff in it, then make a giant cobblestone tower with torches all around it, then suicide. Respawned, retraced my steps, built the shaft to the surface again, and found the tower with relative ease, and was prepared to head back when...

...I realized that I'd forgotten where the shaft was again.

I wandered around and looked for a suitable place to put another tower, (this was a forest, you see) and was halfway through building one when night fell and I realized there was some strange light coming from the ground. I investigate, and it turns out I was about to build my second salvaging tower about three blocks from the mine entrance I had lost. (But hey, I got all my stuff back, at least! And I've learned a valuable lesson: Always build a torchtower by every single mine entrance and base you ever make.)

I'm nearly certain Java is fully updated, and I think my drivers are too, though I'll check. Though unless this dual-core CPU thing is like in the $10-$20 range (and I doubt it is) I'm way too broke to buy it. My mom's going to buy me a new computer if I get decent grades on the first report card of next year, so I guess I'll just have to quit often so I don't lose as much stuff until then.
