Another suggestion would be to up the brightness on the symbols on the runes, or to at least give their ghosts a tooltip. As it stands, making a spell requires me to squint at the screen if I want to tell what color the runes are supposed to be.

I do have some questions regarding World Gen'd stuff.

Right now, the way that the various structures work is that the blocks are added, but no other blocks are cleared out. or filled in. The result is that the basement levels of some of them are completely filled in, which, while an interesting idea and a niceway to make it a bit archaeological, is a bit grating considering that the ladders survive. Or, with practically any structure that spawns in the forest, trees have grown up inside them, with snow on the floor, etc. Also, the towers made of enderstone... what are they for? I've encountered half a dozen of them and all of them are empty on the inside with nothing on the top.

I've got a bug, not sure if it's been noted before. Anything vis related won't function. I cheated in goggles of revealing to see what was going on when my infernal furnace started failing to process anything, after I re-made the furnace, and I found that the wand of the adept wasn't recharging. The goggles revealed that the aura itself wasn't changing even though the nodes were there. There is vis in the atmosphere, but it's not charging my wand or fueling my furnace or replenishing the local aura.

Other worlds don't have this problem, and other dimensions don't either. It's local to the overworld, and as far as I know, it permeates the entire overworld it is centered around my base, which leads me to believe that it's either because of a mod interfering with something, intentional (I kept hearing thunder-like explosions earlier) or because of something that the thaumaturge villager is doing.

@Benimatic: I'm using Twilight forest version 1.14 in the Direwolf20 modpack. I added it myself. I'm not sure what else to say. It's only occurred with one world. I've tested it with magic maps in the overworld on separate worlds without a repeat. I'll try it in the Twilight forest in a moment and let you know the results.

I've tried it, and I cannot replicate the bug in any world except the world I found the bug in. Quite strange. Should I post a screenshot of my magic maps with the same # ?

EDIT: I fixed it, but I still don't know what caused it in the first place. All the times I tried to use the magic map were in the Twilight Forest Realm. I returned to the overworld and used another blank map, which created map #1, then went back to the TFR and created another magic map, which was map #2. The problem is fixed, but I don't know what caused it.

Reporting a bug. Magic maps will over-write each other, IE a map created as Magic Map #0 will be over-written by the next map to be created, which will also be Magic Map #0.

direwolf, I've been thinking long for a good question to ask since I only get one, but I'm rather disappointed that I can't think of one which satisfies my criteria. I enjoy the camaraderie your serverplay series shows, especially in the first few episodes of the latest series (as I try to watch all 50 of the ones I missed due to starting at around episode 50) and I enjoy looking at the machines you and your friends the modmakers have made.

So, I guess my question is, what's the inspiration you get for some of these builds, and how do you figure out how to do it? Is it just a case of "Gee, I wish it would do this function. I guess I had better make it do that somehow" ?

Also, I'm rather amazed at the frame system. When I played with a modpack which had RP2 in it, back in 1.2, I couldn't see the possibilities of the machines. As far as I was concerned, it was rather oblique to me, but watching you use the frames and frame motors and the covers, it makes so much sense, and it's so very cool...

Azanor, version i has another bug to report. Using clay golems on factorization Mixers will result in items being placed in the output slot. This might be an issue with Factorization rather than Thaumcraft, as it was still possible in earlier versions of it to place (by shift-clicking items) into the output slots of the mixer and crystalizer.

I have occasionally heard a Flux Explosion. Only heard, however. It sounds like a close by lightning strike which comes from the direction of the node in question. However, I've not noticed the result or witnessed it myself.

Azanor's using the letter system because what he's updating right now are mostly bugfixes and tweaks rather than adding any significant content change or additions.

I bet once there's some new content, it'll become 3.0.1, and once there's been a much more major addition, it'll become 3.1.0.

Azanor, love the mod so much I cannot tell you without sounding like a deranged fan. I'd like to post an exploit.

Using Factorization, it's possible to make 3 ingots per iron ingot. A magnet requires the use of lead wire and a battery and one ingot of iron, which gives the magnet the aspects of the 7 lead and 5 iron, as well as the water bottle, 2 gunpowder, and piece of coal, used to craft all of that. The result is that each iron ingot can be used to make 3 ingots. I haven't tested this, just noted it. It might be that the vacuous aspects turn as much of the metal aspect into lead nuggets at a much smaller amount.

BTW, absolutely love the Arcane ear. It's so incredibly clever yet so simple, and finally gives me a reason to make note blocks. Hope you'll make other sound related devices. :D

How do you not remember if you visited china or japan?

I do not remember if the pull-tab cans were available in China or Japan. I went to both in very short succession twice, the first in 2004 and the second in 2007, 8 and 5 years respectively, so my memory is a bit hazy as to some details.

Off topic, but I've seen pull-tab sodas. They had them in Japan in 2007 when I got to visit. Or it might've been china. Either way, they exist, and they're pretty cool. The other cool thing I saw in japan for soda was a very strange can. The bottom was what the top of american soda cans are, IE the folded metal around the edges, where they put the soda in, but the top was like a plastic bottle, with an aluminum cap. And there was a large piece of aluminum keeping the cap attached to the can so that when you opened it, you didn't have to hold the cap in your hand. Very strange and very cool. And I still have the can. :)

So, the furnace will pop out the ingot plus a nugget, right? I'm going to guess that it will not apply to refined ores, such as IC2's metal dust and Factorization's crystalized metals.

    Still, that's pretty cool. :3

Taint is out. Now it's "Flux" which works very differently.
