    Character application is Pending

Your character seems interesting, a tired old woman who's lived a long time.

However, your backstory is utterly lacking in any lore inclusion for our server; it looks like a generic copy/paste that could be put anywhere.

Please include our lore, the Pact War that ravaged the land and the subsequent Demon War, how both affected your character, etcetera. Go ahead and post here when it's done!

    Magic application is Denied

Half-Dark Elves can't have magic, as is stated on the Half-Elf race page. If you'd like magic, change your race and I'll give your magic application a proper review.

-Do you have any prior roleplay-related experience, if so could you give an example?: Yes, I have quite a lot. I roleplayed on Aethier for several years, followed by several months on Mirrasil, and then I took a break from roleplay, now looking to get back into it.

-Define Power-gaming in your own words: Power-gaming is one of two things (although the second is sometimes referred to as god-modding). The first is forcing another action on a fellow roleplayer, giving them no opportunity to respond or react with an emote of their own. The second is doing highly unrealistic things that your character would not be able to do given the circumstances.

-Define Meta-gaming in your own words: Meta-gaming is using information you've acquired via OOC methods, and then applying such knowledge to your roleplay character.

-Define Role-Playing in your own words: Role-playing is assuming the role of a fictional character you created, and telling their story in cooperation with other characters and other stories all colliding at once. I've always thought of my character's stories as books I'm writing, with several other books being written around me.

    -Character name: Zoey Laveniere.

    -Character race: Half-High Elf

    -Character gender: Female

    -Character age: 147.

    -Character Occupation: N/A

    -Character description:

Due to her elven heritage, Zoey looks somewhere around the age of 27 years old, as her physical aging has come to a halt for now, but other features tell a different story of age. Under the fabric of her clothes, her skin bears signs of experience, such as faded scars, and old burns. Her eyes lack the light of joy that a young adult would most likely have. Her eyes show signs of tiredness, even when she is not physically tired. Her skin is pale, and her eyes are a dark green matching that of late summer leaves.

Her clothing is quite simple, bearing a black shirt with sleeves extending to her wrists, aged brown trousers, and rugged black boots adorned on her feet. The fabric of her clothing is old, and although it was once new and smooth to the touch, one could feel the roughness and age with a simple brush of a hand. Her clothing shows signs of repair of various degrees, from re-stitching of the seams to small patches to cover holes.

    -Character personality and traits:

While Zoey once put much concern towards others, this has dwindled down over the decades. The generosity and charity she once had were abused more and more overtime, as people tend to do with the charitable, leaving her to be a colder person than she once was, but not heartless. She does not go out of her way to harm or hurt others either, but she will put herself first. Zoey's many experiences have forced her to face many of her fears, resulting in a built up tolerance, but she is not fearless. Zoey does not trust very easy, but she is trustworthy. She keeps her word, and does what she says she'll do.

While she doesn't necessarily lie if she can avoid it, she will withhold certain pieces of information if it suits her needs. Zoey does have a hunger for some sense of power over others, but it's not blatant. She doesn't publicly seek political power, but rather power in allies, resources, skills, and magical prowess. She would much rather be behind the curtain of control than in the light, unless that's where she was wanted, but this typically isn't the case.

    -Character biography:

Zoey's life began on an island city, right at the beginning of the Pact War. where she lived out her entire childhood and most of her adolescence. Eventually, however, her curiosity grew stronger and she adventured to the mainland, where she met a kind man, a doctor and physician. He saw the potential in her and took her under his wing as an apprentice, teaching her about medicine. She worked hard alongside her tutor, spending many years in this city with him, before she decided it was yet again time to move on. She never was one to settle down anywhere for too long. She spent her days as a doctor, servicing the public with her knowledge. She loved her work, doing this for more than fifty years, and then something had changed her life forever.

After a mother had died giving birth to a child in her workplace, and the father's identity was unknown, Zoey took the baby girl into her own home, leaving her job as a doctor to care for the child. This child was like a daughter to Zoey. Zoey stayed as far back from the front lines of war during The Pact war as she raised her child. For the first time, Zoey settled down and didn't intend on moving again. This of course was shattered by further advances in the The Pact War, forcing Zoey and her now grown daughter to flee with everyone else, to the refugee camp that soon grew into a new city. The fact that Zoey didn't want to acknowledge was that this child was a Human, and she was not. While she could live to be more than 200 years old, this child had 75 years at best. If nothing unnatural happened to Zoey, she would most certainly outlive her own child. This is indeed what happened. Amalia lived to be 62 years old, having long left Zoey's home to build her own life, but getting sick near the end of her life, dying. It's not natural to watch someone who is like a daughter to you get old and die. After Amalia's passing, Zoey gave her support to the war effort through medicine. She only took up arms when necessary. However, when the demons came and The Alliance teamed up with The Pact, it was necessary. Like most, it was hard for Zoey to imagine peace again, and when it came, she simply didn't know what to do with the remainder of her years.

-Please give us a short RP response to these two scenarios:

You’re walking around the markets at around noon. There’s a lot of people around you, still gathering their items as they prepare to shut down their many stands. Suddenly you feel a gentle lifting of your coin purse as a child graces you and soon after they take off sprinting. You have been robbed.

Zoey places her hand where she felt her coin purse moments ago, realizing its not there. She looks up to spot the child, making haste after the child in order to catch up. Upon catching up close behind, she'd scoop the child up under his or her arms, to stop them, and set them back down, leaving a hand on the child's shoulder to ensure they did not take off again. She yanks her coin purse from the child's hand, removing her hand from their shoulder. She'd open her coin purse and hand the child two coins of the many. "Next time, ask." She'd put her coin purse back on her belt before turning, and leaving the scene.

You’re heading back to the city through the woods when you hear a whining coming from nearby. Upon further investigation you come across a grey-coloured wolf that appears to have its leg caught in a bear trap. Around it is three smaller lumps of fur, obviously puppies belonging to the trapped mother. Without help, they’ll all die, but wolf skins are quite valuable too, not to mention that the nearby farms suffer quite a bit from the wolf population.

Upon spotting the wolf struggling to get free and her puppies around her, her face grows saddened. She has no desire to profit off of this poor creature, nor does she have any obligation to help the nearby farmers. She scans the area quickly before finding a thick, fallen branch. She slots the branch into the trap, holding it down with her boot. She then prys the trap open just far enough for the wolf to get free, as it attempts to limp away, before collapsing. Opening her bag, she removes a bandage, wrapping the wolf's leg to cover the wound, and lining a stick up the length of the wolf's leg, securing it with bandage to create a makeshift splint so the wolf can limp, and to keep the leg straight. She watches as the wolf limps back into the woods, her puppies following behind. She does not reset the bear trap.

-Magic Biography; Explain the reason you want your character to have magic through backstory application:

Growing up in a city with laws which upheld good virtues, she heard tales of magic, mainly Holy magic. This is what first sparked her curiosity in magic. She sought out anybody who knew anything about it on her travels, but many knew nothing. A few knew some things, but nothing ground breaking. When she spent time with the man who taught her medicine, they got to know one another quite well. In the back room among some of the older pieces of equipment, there was an amulet with a white crystal that Zoey always was curious about, because it didn't belong with all the other stuff back there. She tried to ask her tutor about it on more than one occasion, but every time she did, he just became very quiet, before changing the topic. All she knew was that she wasn't supposed to touch it. That never did stop Zoey...

"What's so special about it?" She asked, getting no answer as usual. "Why is it back there? Is it yours?" No response. "Please get me some bandages, please." The tutor said, avoiding any talk of the amulet. She sighed, going to the cupboards to acquire some, but there was none. "Cupboards are empty, I'm going back to the stock room." He spoke while not looking up from his current task. "You know the rules, just don't touch anything else." She rolled her eyes. "Yeah, yeah, I know. I won't touch your amulet." She said, moving to the back room. She lit the candle in the center of the room, searching for the bandages. She spotted them, reaching up to grab them from a shelf above the Amulet case, bumping it with her elbow and knocking it down onto the floor. "****." She whispered, looking to the door before picking it up to return it to it's spot on the shelf. As soon as she touched it, however, a light began to emit from it, a golden light, bright enough that her tutor had noticed from under the door, making his way back. He opened the door, expecting a fire, only to find the amulet glowing. "It fell, I was just putting it back. Don't freak out." His eyes grew wider. "I said don't freak out!" He grabbed her arm, taking her out of the room. "I'm not angry. Come with me right now. I need to see something." Still clutching the amulet, he took her into another room with surgical equipment. "What are we doing in here?" He didn't answer, rolling up his sleeve and taking hold of a scalpel, cutting his arm. "What the hell are you doing?" Zoey asked, stepping closer. "Use the amulet." He said, giving no further explanation. "What? It's a piece of jewelry! What kind of joke is this?" She asked. He sighed, taking her hand and putting it above his wound. "Just, concentrate. Trust me. Close the cut." She was still very much confused, but decided to play along in what she thought was some kind of joke. "Alright, I'm concen-" She was cut short by her own awe, the cut closing up and the bleeding stopping.

It was in that moment that Zoey realized the potential that she, or the amulet had. Her tutor gave her the amulet, and told her the origin of it. It belonged to his late wife, who practiced holy magic. He insisted she take it, and use it. She did so, leaving shortly after and practicing while she was a doctor. She gave up this practice, but still wore the amulet while raising Amalia as her own daughter. When Amalia was young, their village was raided by a rogue group of bandits, who went house to house, stealing whatever they wanted. Zoey put Amalia underneath the stairwell behind a door, awaiting the bandits. Zoey wasn't violent, so she let the bandit take what he wanted, until he got the door.

"What have ye' got hidin' under 'ere?" He asked. "Nothing, just old furniture." She said, making her way over towards her kitchen counter. "Is that so? So ye' would'ney mind if I took a look?" He asked, smiling, his rotten teeth exposed. "It really wouldn't be worth your time." She said, slowly reaching for a kitchen knife from under her counter as the bandit reached for the doorknob. "I'll just take a peak." He said, laughing. She gripped the knife as he opened the door, spotting Amalia. He grinned, pulling her out from under the stairs, as the young girl screamed. "Children are worth quite a good amount of gold these days.." The bandit said, looking to Zoey. "I think I'll take her." He took one step before Zoey took action. "No you won't!" She screamed out, redirecting light right into the bandit's eyes, causing him to stumble back as she rushed him, forcing him to the ground. "Stay away from her!" She yelled out, stabbing her kitchen knife into the bandit's chest. She didn't stop there. She pulled the knife back out, and continued to stab it back into his chest, over and over again, long after he died. She stood up, panting, dropping the knife. Her daughter had already run upstairs in fear. The white crystal in the amulet began to change colour. It turned raven black.

After Zoey had used the holy magic to kill a man, the amulet now bared dark magic. It emitted a purple glow when she took it into her hand. She then locked it into a chest under the stairwell shortly after, realizing that she had just killed a man, bandit or not. When her daughter was away, however, she did practice the dark magic the amulet now held in her basement, enjoying the feeling it had. It felt powerful. Before Zoey felt weak, now she felt strong. This magic benefited her greatly. At this point, this lines up with the part in her biography where she and her daughter stayed far from the back lines while she raised her.

I HAVE NOT SPECIFIED THE LEVEL OF THE ARTIFACT BECAUSE AFTER READING THROUGH MAGIC RULES AND LORE I COULD NOT FIND WHICH LEVELS A PLAYER CAN HAVE WITHOUT EVENT OR DIVINE INTERVENTION. PLEASE TELL ME WHICH LEVEL(S) THIS ARTIFACT CAN BE IN YOUR REPLY, THANKS.

-Please give an example in your own words describing the limitations placed upon those who use magic:

There was once a time where powerful artifacts could be created by people, but when the Ancients passed, their knowledge of how to do so died with them. This has created a limitation that prevents mortals from creating powerful artifacts. Nothing comes close to being as strong as the artifacts the Ancients once created and wielded. Even the strongest of magic one can wield is still weaker than that of the late Ancients. The artifacts magic wielders use are reminiscent of what the Ancients left behind. Some can create enchantments, but they are flawed.

-Please give a description of the magic system in your own words:

Magic is a phenomena created by the god Bothimir. While skill is also needed in magic, so is an artifact capable of channeling such skill. Artifacts have varying power from weak to divine. There are no spells, so you perform effects within the realm of your aspect. Using magic physically and mentally drains the user. Serious side effects of extending use can be loss of consciousness, or even death. Casting magic requires high mental concentration. Magic can only be performed on objects you can see.

-You are given a weak trinket of Dark, you haven't had much practice with magic yet, but you will try your best. Describe some things you could/would do with this trinket:

Zoey would begin by trying to devoid small areas of light using the darkness, working in secrecy due to the illegality of dark magic. Using the trinket she would be able to eliminate light, eventually working up to larger areas. Once she was able to create darkness, she could manipulate the darkness to create physical forms capable to attacking things, and binding them. She would use dark magic to heal her own minor wounds, but unlike that of light magic, leaving behind scars, rather than healthy skin.

You start with one aspect only. You gain the rest of them (How ever many your race may have) of your own choice through further RP, however you will not be able to attain them immediately.

    Understood. Dark magic.

    Understood. Dark magic.

I come from a roleplay server, and we're waiting until this mod is updated to update the server to 1.9. Will be there be a beta version or is there any kind of ETA or something? I'm sure you can understand why something like this is crucial to roleplay servers.

Is this ever going to get updated? It seems that by the time 1.9 is out this will still be in 1.8 beta, and then it will really be behind. It's very useful to roleplay servers for immersion and I would hate to not be able to use this anymore when the game updates and this is still in 1.8 beta.

On 1.8? Well its beta for a reason. Its far from bug free yea. Would appreciate a nice list of bugs

I know it's beta, I expected a lot of bugs, I'll let you know if I know of any others in the future.

Not sure if the plugin is what will fix this or not, because I got the same thing in singleplayer, and you probably already know, but there are alot of bugs, the biggest one being the legs, if they're not a certain height, they will begin to sink down into the floor, or float above it, and if they're not a certain width, there's a massive gap between them. As well, the wings have a texture error, if there's transparent pixels, they come out black, you'll see in the screenshots below. (This is just custom wings). And finally, if you use a standard wing set, and change it's colour, it changes your hat layer colour too.

Age: Being born in the future, so 0 (real: 14)
    Gender: Male (real: Male)
    Country (optional): Canada
Why You Want to Join: It was recommended by a friend and it sounds really good, so I figured i'd give it a whirl, and it sounds better than my old rp server
Did Someone Recommend This Server to You? If 'Yes', Please State Their Username: hazela7
What is Something You Wish To Avoid When Joining Servers?: rofl bandits, and rofl murderers, for roleplay servers specifically, for non roleplay, greifers, trolls and other other obnoxious kinds of people
Roleplay Right Now! Be The Character That You Would Be On Amice & Describe Your Life (4-5 sentences minimum):

(Future Character) The son of Millicent, Zane, is now 5 years old, while his parents are busy, he wanders off into the halls of the castle. Being as curious as he can be, he wanders all over, exploring even the rooms he'd seen before, as well as the ones he hadn't. He wandered into the courtyard, enjoying himself alot, playing, he looked over the vast city, in awe at the view, although he'd seen this many times, it amazed him every time. The large buildings, the people in the streets, everything just working in harmony, he loved it. His gaze was locked to the city until Millicent had found him, bringing him back into the castle, and shortly after, he once again went exploring, because his curiosity was endless.

Please note that this character will not exist until the future, could be months irl, until 2 certain characters meet, and things happen, i won't describe into exact detail, but pretty much 2 characters will meet, and this child will one day be born. I'm sure this is unusual but I hope you'll still accept and just let me help a friend build and spectate the rp until I come in
