Actually, I'm pretty sure the lighter meat next to the raw porkchop is just a new texture for the cooked porkchop, since the steak is going to use the old cooked porkchop texture from what it seems. So no lamb.
Either way, I'm excited for 1.8 and what it's going to bring to the survival aspect of the game.

Jul 26, 2011Forstride posted a message on 1.8 Updates: New Mob...Revealed?My guess is that it's some kind of thief. It's holding a block, so maybe it takes stuff out of your inventory, and maybe even chests if they get in your house.Posted in: News
Or of course, they could take blocks from the terrain. Maybe they're aliens who come down and steal resources for their home planet or something, and you have to fight them off, or they'll continue to steal resources.
Who knows...They look freaking creepy as all hell though. -

Jun 27, 2011Forstride posted a message on Digital Diamond: Fully Functioning BathroomThis isn't impressive at all. All he did was make giant structures, clearly non-legit, hook up finite water pumps to an ocean, and add pistons for the drains.Posted in: News
Now, do this without a ton of mods, and it would be impressive. -
Jun 6, 2011Forstride posted a message on Minecraft Coming To Xbox Kinect This WinterYou know, the more I think about it, the more I realize how cool using Kinect would be. Granted you have to walk, dig, etc. all by yourself. As long as texture packs, importing worlds, and SMP is supported, I'll probably buy it.Posted in: News
EDIT: To all the people saying Notch is selling out: He's not some lesser known indie developer anymore. He should be able to port his game that's sold millions to consoles/handhelds without being completely shot down by the awful Minecraft community (It's not awful just because of this, but yeah). -

May 31, 2011Forstride posted a message on Minecraft Patch 1.6.6 Released@Necrospire: It creates a nice little patch of tall grass and flowers when you use the bonemeal on grass blocks. Definitely great for repopulating areas with little tall grass, or just adding more.Posted in: News

May 31, 2011Forstride posted a message on Minecraft Patch 1.6.6 ReleasedUgh, and of course, tall grass placement is still messed up. *sigh*Also, the new bonemeal uses are growing tall grass and flowers on grass blocks for those who don't know.Posted in: News

Could maybe see about adding some kind of special exception for river biomes so ice doesn't form in them, and yeah, crops only go by season, rather than if it's actually snowy in the area AFAIK, so that's something that needs to be changed.
Also, we're not going to be changing vanilla mechanics that much, and we don't want to make things to complicated. The mod itself is already difficult by nature, and having things be too complicated for the sake of realism would just make it less fun.

They haven't been re-added yet because updating the mod from 1.7.10 to 1.8.9 required it to be completely rewritten from scratch, and we're only TWO people working on the mod, one of whom (Adubbz) is very busy with school and other personal things. As for me, I am not much of a programmer, and I would not be able to re-add them myself.

I think I would know if I fixed the damn bug. Try checking ALL of the available files, as well as our commits on GitHub before posting about issues again

By FAQ, do you mean a wiki? Right now, there's only an unofficial one that anyone can edit, but I'm working on official documentation currently over at https://github.com/Glitchfiend/BiomesOPlenty/wiki
All that's there are images of all of the biomes

Did you even check the latest version?

Arrows shot with a Flame-enchanted bow only catch mobs on fire. These catch blocks on fire, and melt snow/ice blocks.

Every block with the wood material sounds like that. Blame Mojang I guess?
Flesh blocks do seem to be messed up, not sure why. As for our bone segments, I removed them earlier, and the second page of the world creation settings is intentionally blank for now.

Regarding the first issue, it's something that's been brought up a lot in the past, and I think it's something that would make sense for the mod. We have a lot of other stuff that still needs to be re-added first though, and our main programmer is fairly busy, so I can't comment on whether or not it'll happen.
The second issue, that's not something I want to do. I want biomes to feel unique for the most part, and doing that will only make more biomes feel too similar to one another. I also don't want to change vanilla biomes too much.
As for mangrove saplings, we'd have to add some kind of special block for that, and it's really not worth the effort honestly.

Thanks again for the awesome feature! It's great being able to have custom mod blocks work with shaders.

We haven't re-added them yet
Yes, it works for 1.10 as well obviously. We don't have an actual 1.10 version, because 1.10 mods are not backwards compatible with 1.9.4 (Yet 1.9.4 is forwards compatible with 1.10)
0
It doesn't actually need to be updated, because the 1.9.4 version works on 1.10.2

Someone else submitted this issue, but we can't seem to replicate it ourselves. Could you provide a list of mods you have installed?

It seems as though something broke with Forge recently and the way it checks for rain at a certain position is not working. As for snow, there's currently a bug where being out in the snow won't do anything if it's snowing in a biome that only gets snow in winter. It still works in biomes that always get snow though (Ice Plains, Cold Taiga, etc.)
0
Seasons are not tied to the time of day like that. You'll either have to use the /tan setseason command, or wait for it to change normally.

Hmm, I can confirm that that's happening. Not entirely sure why though, but we'll look into it!

Also, Rorax, a let's player and 3D modeler who I'm sure some of you know, made a spotlight on the mod! Go check it out!
