if anyone got bugs, you got 24 hrs to post them here or on github.
After that, we are moving on to MC 1.5 and will no longer support the 1.4.7 version.

fixed the Beta builds link in the 1st post...

    @infinituslacuna
don't worry about the FML error.. thats meant to happen. it doesn't do anything.
Look at the wiki regarding the permissions and commands.

good job shill, you are nearly spot on with all of that..

only thing is that I reccomend the use of //fewand to select the zones... And the subnodes...

    allowEdits block breaking and placing
allowBlockInteractions acesing chests, furnaces, dispensers, etc
allowEntityInteractions mobs and players, think milking cows..
overrideProtection Gives the group the power to disregard any of the above permissions.

Hey, finally released, been looking at this for a long time and is definetly something i will add to my server, got a question though.

Its regarding the Module Backup that is upcomming, i wanted to know if your gonna add as many features as ForgeBackup currently have, like being able to define anywhere to backup and what dimensions are gonna be backed up, and the ability to automatically delete older backups in a adjustable time setting.
Also when will the Backup Module be out?

Anyway keep up the good work, thanks for all the time you guys spend on this!

Part of the goal of ForgeEssentials is to release only "awesomeized" modules. We kinda failed in that this first release... because we released a bunch of stuff that had basic functionality. However, for version 1.2 (1.1 bieng a bunch of bug fixes) will see a fully featured backup anc chat plugins. Not to mention an Auth plugin, and WE integration.

the backup module will have the things you described almost exactly :). But can I get a link for that Forgebackup thing you are talking about please. If you have ever used SimpleBackup, its going to be like that, but as I said again.. "awesomized". The Backup module IS technically out.. as part of the ServerComplete.. but it currently only has a /backup command that backs up everything.

PS: its a pain logging back out and in again fro m my account to the FE account.. -_-

ForgeEssentials For Minecraft servers (and with added goodies for clients) running Minecraft Forge and other mods. ForgeEssentials was created with the goal of adding Bukkit like functionality to a pure forge base. We aim to provide many features for Forge-based servers that would have been easy to find for Bukkit such as permissions, extra commands, player logging, and in-game world editing. Many features we plan on adding still don't exist yet, but we have quite an extensive list. Everything regarding ForgeEssentials can be found on the wiki. Announcements 1.2.0 has arrived ForgeEssentials 1.2.0 has arrived. With it a few new modules have been added. among them are the AfterlifeModule, the AuthModule, the TicketModule. Added to the Chat module was the mail function. We were not able to include everything we wanted into this release because 1.5 came in the way. How do you set permissions? I don't understand how to do it. I really need to have permissions though could someone explain to me how to have players in groups with commands? I want them to do the rules command or the chunk command and stuff. Thanks

thanks alot for working to help we resolve this issue, you dont know how much i want this to work :) i love this on my test server.
its a much needed mod for forge.

i will give this a look as soon as im home from work in a few hours, i will mention that i did try using mysql in the main config, but i didn't do this for the perm config,
i will see what i can come up with and post back my finding, i have a couple ideas now on what to try with this.
grrr why do i have to work! oh thats right, for money sadly.
lol hanks again ill let you know

I also recommend updating FE. we have been working on some various changes for other things, your bugs may get fixed randomly. :)
also try deleting the Forge Essentials folder, our defaults are usually guaranteed to work.

    Sticky..

your error appears to be an H2 error.
    org.h2.jdbc.JdbcSQLException: IO Exception: "java.net.UnknownHostException: lax21-mc.beastnode.com: lax21-mc.beastnode.com: Name or service not known" [90028-170]

h2 is not a normal database like mySQL or something, it takes a path to a file. Please search your main and premission configfiles to ensure that the the database name for H2 is not a URL, but a path to a directory

for anyone having that "hostname not found" error.. nothing we can really do about that. Try updating to the latest dev build here: http://driesgames.game-server.cc:8080/job/ForgeEssentials-betas/

the only thing we can say about not finding the host, is that you wither mistyped the host, said host doesn't exist, or it is somehow blocked.
