May 11, 2013I made a more traditional cannon using this as propellant.Posted in: Redstone Creations
May 10, 2013I made a cannon that I'm really pleased with. It shoots arbitrary distances (provided you have enough TNT minecarts) and shoots straight forward, with no chance of horizontal deviation. It's even practical to build in survival, though you'd need a lot of iron for the ammo.Posted in: Redstone Creations
It fires the TNT approximately 9.8 blocks/cart.
Anyway, here's a video of it in action (though the game audio track glitched and I had to remove it):

It heals you up to four hearts, and pretty slowly
It lights a pretty large area
It works underwater
It's crafted with a torch recipe, only with a torch in place of the stick and diamond instead of coal
When inside its light, mobs will act as they do in the day (Burning on undead, passive spiders) but will not be repelled

Dirt Stairs(dirt and grass), Sand Stairs, Stone Stairs, Iron Stairs, Gold Stairs, Diamond Stairs. Turn them all into Stairs. The more options the better.
But I support this, anyway.

Basically, a block that lets you see a black and white image of the view from another farstone block.
Farstone blocks are crafted like so:
With being a glowstone BLOCK
When placed, a code is required to be set for the farstone block. This is a combo of 4 colors, done in a separate gui panel. Once placed, the code can only be changed by removing the block and placing it again.
The block will see the view from a farstone block with the same code as it. HOWEVER:
1. If the block is beyond 1 km (1000 blocks) away, both blocks will only display static.
2. If there are 3 or more blocks of the same code in a 1000 block radius, all 3 will only display static
3. If there is only 1 block of a code, it will show static only.
4. The view of the block is slightly further than fog on the "tiny" distance setting.
5. In "Fast" graphics mode, the range of farstone is only about 5 blocks (For obvious reasons; rendering a 3D model on the block will be laggy, most likely)
The image is in black and white, and if you look in like this:
-player camera view->
the image will be from here:
I also propose that farstone sight is blocked by obsidian (shows blackish blur that cannot be seen through around it on a farstone display)
