I'm a veteran server owner, having hosted and worked on multiple servers during the 2010-2013 era.
I'm currently working with a long-time friend and partner on his new server concept, which is expected to have a very long lead time.
We're recruiting anyone, but we need passionate and dedicated people in order for this project to succeed. World-builders, developers, marketing experts, building experts, and people with administration/moderation experience are all welcome. As we're in the early planning stages still, we're especially looking for people who are able to lead teams.
The general idea of the server is that it will be a single persistent world with a hand-tailored gameplay experience. PvP is going to play a large role. The specifics of the project will be discussed during the interview. Remember, an interview always goes both ways. We'll be interviewing each other, and it will be up to you to decide if this project is something you're interested in.
You will be interviewed via Discord, text at first and then in a voice call afterwards. Professionalism and proper organization are important in a project of this size, so make sure that you endeavor to make a good first impression. All ages are accepted, but if you're younger then you will be expected to stand out in some way.

I don't (unfortunately) think we will see much more terrain generation change in the future; Jeb has stated time and again that too many people become upset at the changes for him to change it any more.
I'm glad for it this time, planning on launching a server with the release of 1.5 so world gen changes would throw a wrench in that plan.
I haven't been keeping up with the snapshots all that much, could someone tell me if there are any signs that world generation will be changed at all? Basically something being changed and/or added that you would have to generate new chunks to see.
Experience: I have run several successful Minecraft servers in the past. All of my experience has been gained through my own hard work and determination. I opened my first server in January of 2011, and one thing I never had a problem with was the population of my server. I was able to keep it at a decent number consistently through extensive advertising and word of mouth.
Anything Else: I feel like whether a server succeeds or not is a reflection on me personally. When I devote myself, it's because I truly want to make the server a success. This would be my attitude towards KingsCraft. I have examples of a couple of experimental YouTube videos for a Minecraft server that I have done on my YouTube channel, however they are currently not uploaded, so if you wish I will give you a link to them.
We should extend it, seeing how I won't be able to add people their statuses or give them prizes until on the new map anyways. Bukkit has to be updated first.
can you pleassseee update the server? I don't want to go back an update just to play, but I really, really like this server. :3
Hey, updating is a long process that I am not able to attempt at the moment due to a few reasons.
#1. Bukkit (Our plugins system) needs to be updated so that our plugins still work on MC 1.0
#2. Even when Bukkit gets updated, the individual plugin creators also have to update their plugins to MC 1.0
Once these two criteria are met, a new map will be made and all towns, vaults, and shops will be carried over.
As well, anyone that does not have a vault will be receiving one prior to the map reset so they may carry over a single chest worth of items.
Ownership of vaults may or may not carry over. We'll have to see how smoothly the process goes.
Please remember this is an undertaking of my own, and I don't have anyone to help me with this matter. I hope you understand. I'll update everyone as Bukkit gets closer to being updated completely.

I have no particular attachment to the Nether so I'll just regenerate it when 1.5 comes out. Thanks!

If you're going to attempt to advertise on my thread, you might as well say that's exactly what you're doing.
You are not fooling anyone.
