    Quote from Hexalobular»

I haven't tested it recently but the last time I tried, a couple of updates ago, I had XP orbs getting stuck behind the grindstone if I wasn't standing close enough.

This isn't it; no XP orbs get generated.

When I play on my main survival world, which has been going over many Minecraft versions, disenchanting items gives me no XP back even though it removes the enchantments. I tried in a fresh world and it does work, so is there some sort of game rule that got changed in my main world that would cause this?

Ooohh, I remember reading about the 3D biomes thing! I didn't realize it had already been implemented. Thanks for the info! =3

Great Scott, my stomach knotted seeing the word " NullPointerException." XD Thank you very much for the info! I once backdated a world from 1.10 to 1.7 and again, the only things I lost were new items; I was expecting this to happen again. I guess I'll just have to be more careful in the future!

Being at a loss of how to recover the snapshot world, I ended up loading up the 1.14.4 world and switching to creative mode to rebuild the stuff I did since the update. However, even though I can't backdate the region files, I /can/ backdate my inventory, so that certainly helps~

Structure blocks can handle a maximum of 32x32x32 blocks. My house alone is bigger than that.

Well, here's what my region files look like now:

    EDIT:

Oh wait, that's kilobytes, not bytes ... *does some calculation* Oh snap, they are all still multiples of 4096! Dang, I have no idea why it's deleting my chunks now. ><

MCEdit is not compatible with versions past 1.12. :( A new similar program is in the works, but nobody knows when it'll be ready.

So I loaded up a copy of my main survival world in the latest snapshot to play around with bees, but after that I forgot I was in the snapshot and did a load of work, so now I don't want to revert to the 1.14.4 backup. However, it would seem the following bugfix causes problems:

MC-158988 - Minecraft will remove up to several hundred chunks per region if region file isn’t exact multiple of 4096 bytes

When I load up the world in 1.14.4, everything I've built gets erased because the chunks get regenerated. This is because the snapshot doesn't lock the region files to an exact multiple of 4096 bytes anymore. Does anyone have an idea of how to revert them back? I opened a region file with a hex editor, but unsurprisingly that wasn't much help. Would it be as simple as adding null characters until the file is an acceptable size? I don't know enough about the region file format.

posted a message on [1.13.2] Charged Creeper Blowing Up Wither Skeletons

I've been getting sick of endlessly wandering around a Nether Fortress hoping Wither Skeletons will spawn, so I set up an obsidian pit under a portal in the overworld and pushed a bunch through (after naming them so they wouldn't despawn) and got about 20 of them in there. I waited for a thunderstorm and hit a creeper with my Channeling Trident to charge it, then led the charged creeper into the pit and it blew up, killing all the wither skeletons (and me; I had Blast Protection IV on all my armor, but the skeletons damaged me too much first for it to matter.) When I returned and retrieved my inventory, I found a single Wither Skeleton Skull on the floor. Allow me to quote the Wiki: "Charged creeper explosions that kill zombies, skeletons, wither skeletons, or other creepers cause one of those mobs to drop the corresponding mob head." I did not realize that the wording implies that you only get one skull per explosion, no matter how many mobs are killed. And here I was feeling so clever. Now I guess I need to redesign the whole thing to sort the skeletons into individual chambers, and bring creepers in one by one to blow them up. The most annoying thing about this is I have to wait for a thunderstorm to charge the creepers. I'll update this post with if that works or not. For all i know it may take just as long as killing them manually and hoping to get a skull, but at least it will be more interesting!

It didn't work! It just teleported away again! I was able to push them around with pistons though.

So I managed to get two of them back to the portal in Minecarts, but I can't manage to get them to go through. One is in a boat, immersed in the Portal; I tried putting them in minecarts and using priming rails to boot them out, but they teleport away. I know it's possible because I saw a video of a survival world where someone had one in their base (It was in The Deep End Youtube series), but I can't figure out how!

Before anyone asks the obligatory "why would you ever want to do that" question, I'm trying to get the "How did we get here?" achievement of having all the game's status effects applied at once. And before someone suggests getting all the other effects first, then going to the End to get Levitation, in 1.13 it requires the Dolphin's Grace effect, which only lasts a few seconds, so I have to go to the ocean last.

posted a message on Good way to transport parrots? [1.13.2]

I had to travel far and wide (about 5,000 blocks from my base) to find a jungle, and now I'm not sure how to get the parrots I found back home. I'm pretty sure I could take them one by one in a boat, but that would take forever. They don't seem to follow me over water. Anybody have a tried and tested way to transport them?
