Thanks to Xinhuan and Iriel for working all of this out, super useful information!
Where did you get the fact that Iriel wrote that? It's nowhere in the post. And the fact that you have 1 post and it just happens to be encouraging someones post makes it seem like you are a copy.
Oh god, Fallout New Vegas had me pulling hairs out it frustrated me so much. Random crashes all the time.
Minecraft really is good, Notch works hard on it, and I personally enjoy the updates, and don't see what people hope to accomplish by whining about them.
Yes! I was just going to make a thread about needing map markers! And you should be able to draw on your map, eg: Draw a circle around a hidden underground base or a x marks the spot!
Is there any way that someone could make a mod that adds map markers? They could be made with a pen and some ink, and a pen would be crafted with sugarcane and a feather, and ink would be harvested from squids. I think it would be nice if there were also different colors of ink you could use, made with dye. To wet the pen with the ink, just put them diagonally on a crafting square.
However if it is a glitch, the glitch could stop the chests from sticking together, ah ha! Case is still open.
It's already confirmed that it is NOT a glitch, as the glitch was way back in Alpha. If he really had a new glitch way of doing it, he would have posted it, but seeing as he didn't, he hacked.
He obviously changed the texture of a block to the top of the chests. Did anyone else notice that they're all single chests? Thats because no other block will join together to form a double block.
Case closed, they're not real chests, and its not a glitch.
I dont even now how to use the zoom options at the moment and i think the map should change depth as you go down and up or maybe you could pick a depth at the maps creation.
I like the idea of markers but why a pen would need sugar cane i dont know, you could just have a feather and ink made the same way as Flint and Steel
I was thinking you'd use the sugar cane as a grip, like a pencil has wood, because writing with just feathers is hard, and the ancient Mesopotamians used it.
First off, this is not a rant about why maps suck. I personally love maps, but just hope in the next update they will be more fleshed out.
I think map markers would be nice, as you could mark your spawn, specific structures, or mines. They could be made with a pen and some ink, and a pen would be crafted with sugarcane and a feather, and ink would be harvested from squids.
As for the zoom options, I don't have a problem with them, but I guess other people do.
Underground mapping would be nice if you could make a specific map for each cavern.
Wow, this "raid" is worse than a third grader's panty raid on his mother. I sincerely doubt YOU started herobine crap, and even then, its getting old now.
