posted a message on Need to prevent players from breaking specific blocks.
I'm setting up a Survival Games server for a large get-together and I've been trying to find a plugin that prevents people from destroying anything apart from leaves, vines and mushrooms. However, I still want players to be able to place blocks that they find in chests. Can anybody recommend anything? I already have Bukkit installed and set up.

Turns out it's Ars Magica. The dude who made it just doesn't state the change anywhere at all. Can safely ignore this topic now. Is there a way to delete topics or do we have to leave them to take up space?

I've been playing with Thaumcraft installed for a little bit, and I've noticed that now my axes are likely to receive weapon enchantments when I'm enchanting them. Previously, you could only apply these to axes through enchanted books or other axes that have the effect.

Is this a result of Thaumcraft? I do have Ars Magica installed as well, so I'll also be checking there. I just haven't been able to find any information whatsoever about this and it's getting really annoying. I end up wasting a bunch of levels just to have bane of arthropods, smite or sharpness on an axe which I won't use for combat at all.

EDIT: Turns out it's Ars Magica. As there's no way to delete this comment I figured I might as well put this notice here.

I've been playing with AM2 installed for a little bit, and I've noticed that now my axes are likely to receive weapon enchantments when I'm enchanting them. Previously, you could only apply these to axes through enchanted books or other axes that have the effect.

EDIT: I just checked and it is indeed a result of AM2. Is there a way to disable this? It's silly to have axes with bane of arthropods, smite or sharpness when I have much better swords and bows. It just wastes levels and iron and makes my axes more expensive to repair.

Also, a slightly related but different issue I have is soulbound enchants being common enchants you can get from just level 1. That seems incredibly overpowered. I got three books with it only from level 1 enchants within a few minutes of each other. It's even more common than other low-level enchants such as unbreaking 1 or sharpness 1.

Okay, so I haven't played much for a while and have just started playing again recently. I like to enchant my iron axes and shovels with level 1 enchants to make them more useful over time and I've noticed an annoying change with the axes. I'm now as likely to receive sharpness, smite or bane of arthropods as I am efficiency. This also makes unbreaking seem a lot more rare.

When did this happen? Last I was playing we could enchant tools with those enchants, but only from books. I checked out the mods I have installed (Thaumcraft, Ars Magica, Tinker's Construct, Soul Shards and Extra Biomes) and none of them seem to add this feature. They do add new enchantments, but that's besides the point since it shouldn't affect the vanilla ones.

So is anybody able to shed any light on this for me? Google has actually proven completely ineffective for me for once.

posted a message on milk that you can dump
    Quote from colers5

it MIGHT be fun. but i prefer just more uses for milk, and perhaps a mixing bowl so the not-extremely-hunger-replenishing cake does not eat away 6 iron.

First of all, you get your buckets back when you make a cake. It doesn't "eat" the iron. Second, it's three buckets (or 9 iron.)

On topic: I like the idea. It would be a good way of storing lots of milk without having to make hundreds of buckets. I'd love adding a silo to my cow paddocks.

Boots of Striding seem a bit overpowered for everything they offer right now. I don't think it should grant a bonus to jump height since you normally need a beacon for that. Having a beacon set up shouldn't be easy, and as such it shouldn't be so easy to be granted such an overpowered and simple to craft jump bonus (alongside everything else the boots offer.)

This is really the only thing I have an issue with at the moment. It's already making things redundant such as swiftness potions, feather enchants, pig mounts. However, these things aren't terribly expensive or difficult to acquire normally so that particular aspect doesn't bother me greatly.

First off, I love that we can have arcane levitators under water and lava now. Thanks for that, it's made designing things with them much more fun.

I was wondering if it'd be possible to have a particle effect of droplets rising up just over the top of the lava/water if there's a levitator underneath. It'd look cool, with the added benefit of being able to make hidden lava bridges that you can only see if you look for the droplets.

Thanks again for all of your hard work on the mod, it's really amazing. I love your attention to detail.

I agree. Actually having the weather be tied to seasons, rather than having the same weather in the same spots all of the time would be awesome.

Also Lyuka, I don't think saying "there's a mod for that" is an acceptable response to a suggestion for the core game.

It doesn't regenerate if you have monsters on, but it will if you have them off. This seems to me to be more of a feature than a bug, but you never know.

When invisible after death, I'm able to place blocks in the space I'm currently occupying. This doesn't take the block from my inventory either, effectively duplicating it.

Also, while I do spawn at my normal spawn point now and then after death, I also spawn in another area (it's one general area, but the actual spot differs each time.)

Edit: I thought I should also mention that when I do spawn in the different area, I'll often actually appear at the regular spawn point for a fraction of a second first before actually spawning in the different spot.
