This would be great to have!
Also, i bet if this was made, then i'd be able to make "wool factories"!

    :Diamond:

Yeah, wool factories would be an awesome opportunity, Although It may be difficult to round up the sheep into a pen, and then theres despawning and other stuff, but a mod could fix that :biggrin.gif:

posted a message on [REQ][IDEA] Grazing Sheep
I've always been dissapointed that Notch removed the grazing function that sheep had. The grazing made sheep more sheep-like, in my opinion. I admit the grazing animation and over-grazing needs more work. My idea is as follows:
-Sheep regrow wool after grazing 5 blocks of grass, reverting them to dirt.
-When a sheep has wool, it will not graze, preventing unnecessary removal of grass.
    - A sheep would graze a block of grass every 5-20 seconds if sheered.
-The grazing process would take up to 3 seconds.
-Oh, and ideally, a black sheep would re-grow black wool, etc. (Optional)
-In contrast to the previous idea, the sheep might regrow a random color using the normal random wool color sheep properties.
I wouldn't expect this mod to be very difficult, the only challenge I might see is the grazing animation. Of course, I'm not a modder, so I don't really know.
Hopefully I'm not reposting this idea for the thousandth time, but since the search is down I have to way of determining that.

    Happy grazing. :Sheep:

posted a message on New Cactus Discovery: Place where it shouldn't be
I was recently building a smallish cactus farm when I discovered that if you place a cactus on a stop where every factor are against it (Meaning that: blacks are on the sides, it is submerged in water, not placed on sand), it will be placed.

It would be easier to show with screenshots, I suppose...

    I hope this isn't cOLD mOLD. :tongue.gif:

I'm having a similar problem, but when I started a new world, I saw squids in the water like nobody's business. I think the lack of squids in some old worlds is probably a bug yet to be fixed.

posted a message on Egg Laying: is it actually random?
The wiki says it is, but I have found a lot of evidence that suggests egg laying isn't random. This may be cOLD mOLD on a sLATE pLATE by now, but I haven't seen any posts.
    Here's my evidence:
-Often times, I will see a chicken backed into a corner with at least three walls. The che chicken always stays there until it dies, is moved, or despawns.
-I have found that chickens lay TONS more eggs (at least by 80%) When they are backed up into corners as mentioned before, but when two chickens are near each other.

My main example is where I have a staircase leading to a room (Note that the staircase is set into the ground). It is one block wide and 3 blocks high [See below]. Until I logged off, two chickens stayed at the bottom and one step up, laying eggs once every minute or so, sometimes less then 30 seconds apart. Decide for yourself if this is coincidence, or if it could possibly start a great way for egg farming.

Notch should increase the spawn rate of squids.

    Agreed.

I have the same problem as well. I play on a map that was the first one I ever made. I made a new world and I see squid all over the place. But I have the new trees and other colored sheep in the original world though. Just no squid.

    EXACTLY!

Actually I do see the new color sheep. But another odd thing is, I barely see any monsters at night at all. I used to see lots, now after the update almost none.

I doubt that, as maps always have at least several biomes within them. Usually all. I've visited every biome in my one map, too.

I \have gone exploring the ocean for a Minecraft week, made three giant aquariums on top of all of my 5 waterfalls around my shelter, and STILL NO SQUIDS. Any suggestions?
