HexGaming is a 1.4.7 factions server making a return after our hiatus.
HexGaming used to be a very successful server but after an unfortunate chain of events we had to close down loosing all we had accomplished over the time we had been running. We have been gone for over 4 months now but we are now making a return and we are going to be bigger and stronger than ever!
HexGaming was originally founded in 23/6/11.
We are running the Factions plugin alongside with McMMO. This allows people to group up create a faction and fight to become the best on the server. We also have a basic economy which means that the server isn't dependent on economy, there is a basic shop at spawn with not many items so it mean that you will still have to go and and collect resources.
We have 100 slots and if we feel the need to we can upgrade the amount of slots at any time.
As you know (or may not know) HexGaming rents it's own dedicated VPS to run it's servers. This VPS costs us $120 per month to rent and we have never had an issue coming up with funds to pay this bill. However, the HexGaming bank account has become locked and therefore we have no way to pay the bill for this month. The next bill is issued on August 25th which is this Saturday and we need your help to pay it off. If we can not pay this bill then HexGaming WILL be shutdown. We have been working on the asylum jail server intensively for the last month and progress is almost complete for the beta stage. We have also been developing factions and I really don't want to see all of our hard work go to waste. To those who do help us during this difficult time, you will get in game rewards and possibly a promotion if we can get the funds to continue. To those who love the HexGaming community I ask you in this time of struggle, please help us to save HexGaming.

Plugins
All plugins are custom made by the HexGaming staff.
Info on Factions
This plugin will allow the players on the server to create factions/guilds. The factions can claim territory that will be protected from non-members. Factions can forge alliances and declare themselves enemies with others. Land may be taken from other factions through war.
The factions on the server have relations to each other. They can be ally, neutral or enemy. You choose your wished relation to another faction through a chat command.
If both factions wishes ally you will be allies.
If one faction wishes enemy you will be enemies.
You can never hurt members or allies (friendly fire is always off).
You can not hurt neutrals in their own territory.
You can always hurt enemies and players without faction.
Damage from enemies is reduced by a certain percentage in your own territory.
Every player has “power”. The power can at most be 10 and at least be -10. If you die you lose 2 power. Note that it doesn’t matter at all how you die. You can be killed by an enemy or drown in sand. In either case you will lose 2 power. The power will be restored over time, but only while the player is online; while offline, their power will not regenerate. It takes 5 min for 1 power to be restored while online. You will also lose 1 power for every 24 hours offline. Note that these values are all just the defaults, and can be changed as desired.
Info on McMMO
McMMO's main function is to incorporate an RPG-like skill system that players will have access to right from the beginning. Depending on how much a certain tool is used or a certain action is performed, players will gain experience that will eventually add bonuses such as double drops, rare drops, or ability enhancement.
Taming
Tired of your wolves being pathetic? Well now its time for you to stop being such a pathetic beast handler and increase your skill in Taming. Taming increases by engaging in combat with your Tamed wolves. Levels of Taming will offer benefits to your wolves such as damage reduction versus explosions, fire, fall damage, and all incoming damage. Offensive skills that increase the damage of the wolves and offer critical strike chance and a DoT applied to foes unlucky enough to be "Gored" by your wolves.
Mining
Mining increases depending on the materials you mine. Mining ores will give much more XP than just mining stone. How much XP depends entirely on the rarity of the ore. Diamond and Lapis give the highest XP. High skill levels give blocks the chance to drop double the normal items, get this high enough and it will be guaranteed.
WoodCutting
Its finally time to show the tree huggers who's boss, cutting down trees is the only way to level this currently. Higher skill levels will allow a double drops to happen, and if your skill is high enough it will be guaranteed.
Repair
Thousands of days of being obsessed with dwarven craftsmanship will finally pay of, gained by reforging old and battered equipment, this skill helps the player use less resources when repairing with an anvil. Anvils are constructed via 9 Iron Ingots in a crafting table (Iron Block). You use it by right clicking with the tool in hand and blocks of the tools type in your inventory.
Unarmed
Punching the hell out of monsters will gain you experience, but you shalt not be rewarded from abusing farm animals. Really, wheres the fun in taking out your aggression on Pigs? With this skill players can actually make unarmed useful for combat, great for combat even. Get this high enough and you can disarm what other players are holding and drop it to the ground.
Archery
Shooting arrows was cool in vanilla minecraft... for about 5 minutes, this skill is looking to change that as archery will let your damage increase at higher levels, and you can eventually daze players providing a very beneficial pvp benefit. Higher levels of archery will let you retrieve arrows from corpses.
Herbalism
This one is for the harvest moon fans, picking herbs up (flowers, mushrooms) and harvesting crops will help raise this skill. Its benefits include double drops from farming and increasing the effectiveness of bread and stew.
Swords
This will give you even more reason to stab monsters between the eyes. Gaining skill in swords will help your swordsmanship of course, allowing you to perform a parry. Parries happen automatically and negate all damage. Higher skill levels will lead to parrying more often. High levels of Swords will let your gouge your enemies and bleed them to death.
Axes
Embrace your inner viking with the axes skill. No longer are axes just for obsessively chopping down forests. With the axes skill, players will be able to do critical hits, instantly killing monsters and causing severe damage to players. As your skill increases, your chance to critically strike will too. At a certain skill level Axes damage will even be upgraded. What axe you use matters for the damage scaling, use a Diamond Axe for maximum damage.
Acrobatics
Finally the days of spraining your ankle have paid off, no longer will you look down a 100 meter drop with fear. With the acrobatics skill your ability to negate fall damage increases. And how do you negate fall damage? By rolling of course, a secret passed down through the ages. Tap into this mysterious 'rolling' ability by falling and training your body. If you're good enough you will never have to worry about fall damage again.

How The Asylum Works:
In the HexGaming Asylum, you arrive as an "Insane Convict" and must find a way to escape!
However escaping is almost impossible, so you must find a new way out.
Fortunately for you the guards in the asylum will allow you to work for money.
So using this money you earn, you can buy yourself up the ranks and eventually to freedom!
But buying your way up is no walk in the park, you start your journey to sanity in C-Ward and can buy your self B-Ward with $35'000.
Once in B-Ward you can buy A-Ward with $100'000, and once in A-Ward you can get Patient with $200'000.
Now finally to become free of the Asylum you go from Patient to Civilian with $500'000.
Now the higher ward you are in the better jobs you can have and the better pay is for selling resources.
It does take quite a long time to earn enough money to rank up, but with enough dedication and work you can all become free of the Asylum and begin your new journey in normal survival.
Now there are a couple items that are illegal in the Asylum, but.... you can still have them if a guard does not see these items. These items are swords and bows. If a guard sees you with a sword or bow, he/she will count down from 5 and in that time you must drop the weapon. If you fail to do so he/she will jail or kill you depending if you are in a pvp or non-pvp area.
We do have special challenges every week for a chance for players to win money/prizes!
