1. Find some lava somewhere and build yourself a cobblestone generator. 2. Find the furnace in one of the 4 mini-crates floating beside the island. (Only for version 1.0)
Every option provides a different challenge, but you will have to do both eventually in order to complete the quests.

Ultimate Challenges: Totally optional, yet fun to do.
Hardcore: Survive the game on hard mode, without dying once.
Gold doesn't taste as good as you would think: Never eat the golden apple you are given from the mini-crate.
Pacifist: Don't hurt a single mob.
Friends with the Dark: Never build or place a single torch.
Vegetarian: Don't eat any meat
Meatatarian: Eat only meat.
Zombies, Eat Flesh: Eat only zombie meat.
Obsidian Hater: Destroy all the Obsidian on the island- including the mini-crates
All Fiered up: Create a link to the Natural Selection page on the forums and set it as your banner.
Basically you spawn in a semi-large area where there is only a little bit of sunshine.
You get a few items to start you off, and you must survive this challenge.
