Could you add 2 config options to change the requirement for fuel and change the number of upgrades you can put on a machine.
The answer is yes. Great idea. However final's are nearing and I'm really busy with college. I will get to it as soon as I can. Which should be no later than July.
Your mod seems to be incompatible with Fortune Ores
I'll check it out. I rely heavily on the forge ore dictionary to make this mod work, so if they change that too much, or change the way the fortune is handled, then it will break. I'll look into it when I have some time for modding.
It's one of the other mods. I think something is overriding your ids...Also just found out all your upgrades were also gone along with the Charged Circuit
Edit: Could you give info on what each upgrade does specifically? Also, Amazing mod!!!
Edit: Changed ids to some item id I knew was open and it worked!!!
For upgrades, there should be speed, fuel, silk, and fortune. If you're using mekanism, there will also be energy. All decreases and increases except for fortune and silk use a log scale, which means diminishing returns.
Speed: Increases the speed that the miner will mine.
Fuel: Increases the chance to not consume fuel.
Silk: Adds an option for silk touch.
Fortune: Increases the fortune that the miner mines with.
Energy: Decreases the power needed to mine.
First off I won't be updating anything big for a while. Probably until the quarter at my college gets out, I'm taking 2 classes over the normal load so I'm swamped with that. If I get the chance I'll update for 172.
Can you add the ability to mine coal?
maybe even add recipes for everything?
thanks, love this mod.
Coal appears to be working. It also looks like it has a recipe. Remember to use coal ore and let me know if you can't craft it as well as what other mods you have installed.
As far as I know everything has recipes. If there isn't a recipe for something, let me know. I probably forgot to add it and it shouldn't be that hard to fix.
If you have mekanism installed, you have to use power, otherwise, the recipe requires ender pearls. I added power upgrades that reduce the power the mekanism version requires.
Now, when you break the autominer, all the upgrades, inventory, power, and energy still exist when you place it back down. I also added a tooltip to represent this.
I also removed all of the messy upgrade text, and put it in a tooltip that appears when you hover over the upgrade slot.
Updated to 1.0.5. I fixed a bug with hopper exporting. Added slot specific upgrades and changed to using packets. This means much less overall load, especially on the client. I also fixed a crash if you try to use Mekanism recipes and don't have Mekanism installed.
It would be better if it mined them, Now it feels OP (Over Powered) and a lot like cheating, After all now i can place it anywhere and it will create the ores, with neather ores and their quadruple the ore output (need to grind them into dust with a tech mod first) It just makes it extremely OP.
Also its not technically a minner its just creating ores from pure charged obsidian dust
It does seem a bit op, so I'm probably going to take your suggestion to increase the charged dust recipe. Having the miner create ores is mostly to reduce lag on the server. In order to find and mine ores the chunks need to be forced into being loaded. Which means wherever there is an autominer, the surrounding chunks either need to be always loaded, or they won't mine if someone isn't exploring those chunks.
I love this mod, I love how you can set it to mine only the ores you need, Now you Just Need to make it compatible with "Thumcraft 4", Because it doesn't work with the Shards, aka infused stone ores.
And make it so it can deal with Liquids.
Also I think the charged obsidian is too cheep I suggest replacing the redstone with enderperals after all it is magicly teleporting the ores to the surface.
And What kind of the range does it have?
I'll check out Thumcraft soon. I haven't used it so I don't know how they deal with their Shards.
Liquids would be an interesting project, I'll look in to it soon.
My next project is adding UE(probably) power. I'll then have the recipes increased if they do not have an electricity mod installed.
This mod does not have a range like a lot of autominers. It works by creating the ores within the machine, rather than looking for them and mining them.
I just added the upgrade recipes and added metadata to the fortune upgrade. Now, nether ores will work, along with any other mod that uses one block with metadata for its ore.
This mod adds an automatic miner to the game. By an upgrade of that ore type in one of the top slots, ore will be created in the corresponding middle slot.

Info:
This mod adds an item, the Automatic Miner, and a way to use it.
The miner needs to have charged obsidian dust put in the far right slot in order to run.
One dust will mine 10 ores.
You can change the recipe for the dust, whether it uses vanilla or Mekanism crafting in the config file.
Installation instructions:
1. Download the recommended forge installer for the corresponding Minecraft version. Forge downloads can be found here, or here for versions under 1.7.x.
2. Locate your .minecraft folder. (For Windows users, you can type %appdata% in the file explorer. .minecraft should be near the top.
3. Find or create a folder called mods in your .minecraft folder.
4. Drop the mod downloaded above inside the mods folder.
5. Run minecraft. Be sure to select the proper profile in your minecraft launcher. If you don't know how to set up a new profile with forge, see this tutorial.
That's it. The mod should run perfectly.
Questions:
Q: Is this mod compatible with...:
A: Probably. As long as your mod uses forge and doesn't modify base classes, then it should work. The Auto-Miner mod will also attempt to load last so it can grab all mod ores to create upgrades for them.
Q: Will this mod mine ores from...:
A: Almost definitely, see the previous question.
Q: How do I change what recipe the dust is using:
A: Look in the config file.
This mod is not complete, here are some things I'm going to do:
-Make the autominer rotatable
-Add universal electricity power -Add upgrades for speed, energy, silk touch, fortune, and anything else I can come up with. -Add Hopper/Dropper Support -Update for 1.6.2 -Get Shift-Click working
-Allow charged obsidian and charged obsidian dust to connect with redstone.
-Add an ItemBlock for the AutoMiner so upgrades persist if you break the block.
Change Log:
1.0.1
- Got the autominer mining. It is playable.
1.0.2
- Removed shift-click temporarily. Reason: Duping items on return from top slots. Working on it.
- Fixed the server-side crash. Derped with my CommonProxy annotation path
1.0.3
- Fixed shift-clicking.
- Added Hopper/Dropper Support
- Added a Creative Tab for the mod
- Added Silk, Fortune, Speed, and Fuel upgrades
1.0.4
- Updated to 1.6.4
- Fixed speed upgrade time not reducing the time correctly.
- Mining progress is now saved on quit.
- Added upgrade recipes.
- Changed the fortune upgrade to be metadata sensitive.
1.0.5
- Fixed Hopper/Dropper support
- Upgrades are now slot specific, includes a change in GUI
- We're using packets now
1.0.6
- Added Mekanism Power(Universal Electricity), or increased the recipe for charged obsidian, depending on whether you have mekanism installed.
- Added power upgrade for the mekanism version
- Added tooltips to the inventory representation
- Changed the block upgrades/inventory/power/energy to persist in your inventory.
- Changed upgrades to Tooltips
- Minor bugfixes
1.1.1 - Upgraded to Minecraft 1.7.10
1.1.2 - Fixed minor crafting bugs - Fixed problem with mod blocks and metadata
Ok, I thought updating would fix this problem, but it doesn't. I've isolated the problem to Chicken Chunks, because when I run with Chicken Chunks, it crashes, without, it works. I've got four particle accelerators colliding to make antimatter. They shoot at much the same time. I don't have any Chunk Loaders running when this happens. Here is the crash report.
