No.. It is not. Where are you getting this from and what makes you think that?

If I said the same thing about the product that I produce at my job, I'd be fired.

Emergent properties can destroy a complex set of instructions in the blink of an eye, so as the code grows more complex, it starts interacting with itself in unexpected ways, and each time you change the code to fix one problem, another unexpected interaction has a chance to show up.

The terrain generator minecraft uses must be diabolical to work with.

Maybe some advice is in order?

I've never owned a Mac, so I don't have any clue where to begin.

It would be awesome if you could find out what his issue is and help him out!

They only help I can give him is what version of Snow Leopard I'm running. It might be that I have an update he doesn't, which is why I included the ".8" at the end there.

That only prevents them from destroying your work, besides it wrecks spawners. What about the sorroundings? Are you suggesting to place torches all over my world, to prevent endermen? I don't want all the land randomized by endermen... And I also want the other mobs.

The also don't avoid lit areas. They can cover an alarming amount of ground in one night, especially in flat areas.

    Quote from Badprenup

This might make it interesting, but they definitely need to drop whatever block they are holding when they die. From what I have seen they currently do not.

I would swap out the damage resistance for better teleportation. Currently, if you are on Island A and an Endermen is 30 blocks away on Island B and you aggro it it will go to the edge of the water, stare at you for a few seconds, then jump in the water and die. While hilarious, I think they should be smarter then that.

If a situation occurs where an Enderman is trying to get to you but can find no way to do so it can long range teleport. It can only do this once every... 10 seconds or so?

This. A great way to take advantage of teleportation hijinks in combat would be to have them form tribes, like pigmen, so that if you aggro one you'll be fighting 2-5 at once.

Instead of just calling me stupid, it might've strengthened your argument to tell us what exactly I did wrong that would make you think I need to take a statistics class.

Sorry, my bad. It's a pet peeve of mine.

With no counter argument, seems like you're just bashing him now.

    Give a reason why.

I don't see why he needs to take a statistics class.

I'm doing the calculations now. 8^)

some of the things he hasn't taken into account are flaws in his polling methods, or statistical significance in his results. For instance, many of the people in this forum are here to discuss problems they are having with the game. We also don't know what the standard deviation of the data is.

I have to go find my graphing calculator....

They avoid lit areas, do they not? Just drop a few torches.

No. I had one wander into a house in the village I'm living in (I left the door open and it pulled the block above it out.)

It's been in there for a while...

Note: I lit the inside of all of the buildings because the village spawned on a small hill, so many of the houses have their windows buried.

Actually, since you want to talk statistics, lets be truthful.

1,422 of the people polled are satisfied (or more) with the current game and its development. (~66%)

191 of the people polled have no opinion either way. (~9%)

515 of the people polled are disappointed (or worse) with the current game and its development. (~24%)

So with some basic math we can come to the following statement.

~33% of those polled are LESS than satisfied with the game and how it is being developed.

Shame on YOU Mr. Cave Johnson, for oversimplifying the poll in an attempt to strengthen your point of view.

    *Sigh*

You... need to take a statistics class. Badly.

    "Notch isn't your slave"

"Notch doesn't have to work on Minecraft 24/7"

Way to parrot two completely irrelevant points of view that have been pointed out as flawed and completely foolish multiple times throughout the thread.

It's called reading comprehension. Words, when used in a sentence (or paragraph, or more), often take on a meaning beyond that of the single word. Me saying that I think Notch/Mojang are being lazy does NOT imply that I think they should work on Minecraft all day, every day.

    Thanks for the bump.

And for the record, you could have also said "Notch doesn't owe you anything" or "It's a beta NOOB". These seem to be the top 4 responses to my OP. None of which are even close to relevant.

But it does- at least they way you have been saying it. The connotations of your OP and other posts, if not intended, along with the way you are talking down to other posters in a derogatory manner, is making other people perceive you as spiteful, obnoxious, and arrogant. This is leading them to make the assumption that you feel very, well, entitled. Your caustic diatribe is not helping you- they way you need debate with people who disagree with you is not the same way you rally people who already agree with you.

Perhaps you could start by not insulting people's intelligence in your replys?

Simple... If creepers blew up out of reach from me, I would "freak out" too. Imagine comming out of your mine, to discover that the whole landscape was filled with holes in the grown made by creapers.

That would be worse, but it is the same general problem. It's simply griefing.

When a creeper blows up now, it is frustrating. But it is also my fault for not being careful. You can't blame the player for not having eyes all of the place. Seriously... Endermen are like bullies, they drop out of school and draw pictures of genitalia on bus stops and concrete walls. They are no use... like, at all!

    Creepers are just nervous.

Idea 1 was a way to limit the areas where they would "work", and there may be ways to make them take blocks in an organized way, like hollowing a small cave into the side of a hill or something. They could even "stop" when they were finished building, or dismatel structures they'd already built for materials and space.

This would be the single most epic thing ever in all of video gaming... You look out and trigger one Endermen, and suddenly find three of them staring at you with their mouths agape, and seconds later... well... that's all she wrote.

The reaction I would want someone to get the first time they see them is "Hey, these guys don't look so bad. Awww, they've got such a cute little house going there! Hey, why are they all loo- Oh. *Mauled by endermen*"

posted a message on Endermen: Great Idea. Worst execution ever, though
Elding, do you think endermen could look harmless (dark greyish, soft pastel eyes with matching colored smoke particles) and then switch to a frightening appearance (very dark black, deep neon colored eyes, black smoke particles) when aggro'd? Instead of shaking, they'd just stand stock still and watch you, opening their jaws only when the start attacking?
