    Hey everyone! It's the 71st weekly status update!
    There's been lots going on recently, sorry about not getting a status report out sooner :P
    Mahtaran and I have been busy with school and burnout. However, we have big news, and some smaller news. Let's start big. Mahtaran and I have decided that just like Forge, we'll not be porting to 1.13. Instead, we're going to rewrite the entire mod, from the ground up. This means there will be a big delay in new content from us as we'll be rewriting the mod.
    We'll be splitting up the mod in a core API and the mod itself. The API will allow things like:


    - It makes our lives much easier in general by speeding up the development process

    - Support for big and extensive skill trees
    - An improved Abilities/Spells system, which allows us to add better ways of unlocking and upgrading spells, and lets us develop types of spells we previously couldn't, in a much easier and more efficient way
    - Better animations
    -Better AI for mobs to allow them to use abilities in a more intuitive way
    - Utilities to help us create UIs easier while remaining very configurable
    - A more versatile Mana/Chi system
    - Custom events and advancement support for easier integration with the mod
    - A versatile system to create your own magic mod or addon!

    Additionally, the mod rewrite will provide:


    • Consistent XP and levelling! Your abilities will improve as you give them XP, not just as you level them up!
    • An overall rework of all abilities and effects, making them better and more consistent than ever.
    • Fixes for various bugs, like not being able to damage the Ender Dragon or the broken shaders!

    Slightly smaller news: I've fixed several crashes and am working on water bubble! I'll hopefully be able to get out a fix by the end of the week!!! Water bubble will act as a shield, a chargeable projectile, ammo for your abilities, and a bucket!!! Super exciting, right?

    Hey everyone! It's the 70th weekly status update! Sorry I haven't managed to get a report out these last two weeks- it's been a bit hectic with school and some major bugs! There's been a LOT of changes.

    • Fixed the lang file so abilities actually do what they say they do
    • Miscellaneous bug fixes with abilities not working properly or unexpected behaviour
    • Tick Handlers have been fixed already, in case you didn't know
    • Reduced glitchiness and lag for fireball and air bubble
    • Reduced Earth Control's damage
    • Lightning Arc Particles + Explosion
    • Water Cannon particles + size reduction, better collision checking
    • Better inferno punch particles upon hitting something
    • Fixed some plants not being bendable
    • Fixed water skate being used on lava o_0
    • Adjusted water skate height so you can now skate 1 block above ground while skating on water
    • Fixed earth wall being used on water o_0
    • Fixed shockwave not dying
    • Fixed earthspike bouncing off of walls
    • Reduced earthspike damage, now multiplied by the hardness of the block it's on
    • Internal code cleanup
    • Fixed Inferno Punch damage not working properly at level 3

    That's a lot, right?
    Now, here's what' water cannon now looks like.....




    Pretty sweet, right?


    Lightning arc now has charging particles! It also creates an explosion when colliding with a solid, but doesn't explode when hitting an entity (there were some... interesting.. knockback glitches).



    I can't think of anything else right now; I'm gonna be working on improving some abilities and fixing severe glitches before releasing a5.9.2!
    Hopefully it'll be out by tonight!

    Hey everyone! It's the 69th weekly update! I know I'm really late, sorry about that! I just haven't had the time :P
    Big news: Mnesikos has joined development! She is the the official Mob Manager; she can model, texture, and animate them! Super awesome!!!!!!

    Here are some bison gifs for ya:

    All animations are continuously being updated! Bison will just fly down when sitting instead of belly flopping xD

    Bison will be overhauled in the following weeks! Animations for attacks, better attacks, better bison ageing and improvements, and a brand new move for bison- roaring! Roaring will have 3 options: battle, player-activated, and idle. The player activated and battle roars are the same, except the player can activate the battle roar if they've tamed the bison. Roars will essentially be activating air burst!!!!
    All other mobs will be slowly receiving animation overhauls as well!

    Some other news: Tick handlers were broken by mahtaran while trying to fix another game breaking bug, but don't worry! We're sorting out those issues!!!!

    Some other cool stuff:

    -Earthspike scaling! There is now size scaling for earthspike, and earthspikes gut subtly bigger as they travel!!!



    -Gui changes!! No more weird gui positioning, and bending icons of non selected elements are smaller! Additionally, there are config options for the bending icons and the chi bar!!


    -Config changes! Better balancing, loot, e.t.c


    -Lots of other stuff I've completely forgotten about!!!


    -I'm working on lots of QOL changes; damage scaling, size scaling, better power rating implementation, e.t.c.


    -Another thing I've done is improve particle positioning! Inferno punch now has particles at the player's hand! Cloudburst is now lower and towards the player's chest.

    -Massively refactored ground smashing and air burst to use a new entity: Entity Shockwave!
    This means there are now wayyyy better particle animations for smashing, and air burst! Additionally, Inferno Punch Path 1 (INCINERATE) now uses that same entity, so you have a sphereical fire explosion that behaves normally!!!

    Oh yeah! I also added some particles for air jump upon jumping, to make it feel more realistic!!!

    That's all I can think of for now! We're working super hard on getting an update out for you all!!!!

    For armour crafting, the plan was to add recipes that require a mixture of ingredients from different sources, some found and some crafted, with the idea being that you need to go on a sort of mini-quest to make the armour.

    Hey everyone! It's the 68th weekly update! Sorry for not updating last week, I forgot and school's been really hectic recently!!!!!

    So I have released lots of previews to curseforge; sadly, all of them do have broken tickhandlers, so either
    1)You use preview 3 and have gamebreaking crashes if you quit while using lightning arc or similar abilities
    or
    2) Lightning arc and such won't work on multiplayer.
    However, mahtaran and I are working hard on resolving these bugs! In the mean time, I've got some cool gifs to show you.....
    Bison!!!! Size increase, and better messaging for when they're hungry. Don't let your bison get hangry.

    Other changes with the previews (released and upcoming):
    -Gui config!!!! You can now choose whether to have bending icons and the chi bar render in your sreen!
    -Lightning spear particles+path fixes
    -Nametags for benders!
    -Better AI and abilities

    There's a super massive changelog!!!!!! Again!


    HUUUGGEEEEEE
    *Got rid of unused textures


    *Properly implemented cooldowns for all buff abilities
    *Added airbending staffs:



      • Added cooldown messages for the airbending staff

      • Has 2 attack damage

      • It gives speed and haste

      • It shoots air gusts and air blades, and is usable in both hands

      • You get its perks when it's in the offhand


    *New fire arc texture
    *Adjusted power rating cap
    *Added a new passive: Fire Devour



      • Shift to activate it

      • Eats all nearby fire blocks, adding 10 to your power rating for each block eaten


    *Lots of texture compression
    *Air bubble is affected by power rating
    *Added some advancements for gaining a water scroll and gaining an air scroll
    *Fixed some inferno punch and air burst crashes


    *Earthspike now has texture variants depending on what block it's used on


    *Water Arc and Water Cannon now use the vanilla water texture, clearing up space
    *Fixed some positioning for water arc- it doesn't completely line for the entity, but it looks way better


    *Finished with better tab textures, courtesy of Mnesikos


    *Possible analytics crash fix (the crash only happened with bad launchers). (It may cause other bugs, please report them!)


    -Updated Lightnings pear model and texture- credit to Mnesikos!


    -AOE for fire arc! Better velocity! Way smoother!
    -Water arc is now wayyyy smoother
    -Fixed numerous collision crashes, especially the Inferno Punch one


    -NPC's can now bend again! (That was a silly bug xD)
    -NPC's will
    now spawn in villages- you'll either need to create a new village, or
    they should spawn in new villages. If not, just create a new world.


    -Config for buff abilities (doesn't work right now)


    -Config for trade items for fire and airbenders


    -Trade messages and way better npc's


    -Actually decent AI


    -Updated spawn rates and biomes


    -Airblade now has a config for which blocks it can break


    -Particles for Restore and Purify/immolate; will add particles for the other buff abilities eventually


    -Inferno Punch is more immersive with its effects


    -Reduced glitchiness for everything


    -New Ability: Air Burst.
    -Better water cannon positioning

    I've started school up again, so I'm going to have less time for development :(. However, that doesn't mean I won't stop working on the mod!!
    Other news: Hahdrim and Mnesikos are working on a simplified resource pack for the mod! It's gonna be awesome! I'm gonna be slowly finishing fire devour as the weeks go by. I hope everyone had a great summer/winter! Good luck with school!

    Hey everyone! It's the 66th weekly update!!!!!!!

    Big news! I've got benders spawning in villages again!!! Benders also now have AI, and will actually fight back and bend; they're super strong though, so watch out! There are 3 levels to fire and airbenders- the first level, they have 2 low level abilities, and 1 scroll. The 2nd level they have a couple, and 2 scrolls. At level 3, they have numerous abilities, at high levels, with 3 scrolls! Be careful who you fight :) Sky bison also bend now! Additionally, I've fixed some collision crashes, and have a super sweet lightning spear model! You can charge it for more power, and it gets bigger as you level it up! I'm working on an AOE attack, and am getting some super-sweet particles from Msekinos!



    I'm almost ready to get a preview out!!!!

    Hey everyone! It's the 65th weekly update!
    Sorry I wasn't able to get an update out sooner- my mum had a birthday this weekend, and I have family friends visiting, so it's been really chaotic!!!
    Here are the upgraded smash gifs!!!!!!



    I've also improved the buff abilities! I'm working on the config, and I've
    -Fixed the duration maths so that creative actually has a buff duration

    -Fixed a super-op mistake for Sustenance of Life: You got several ticks of instant health!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    -Added "some" particles to restore and purify/immolate!!!!



    I've also improved the collision for cloudburst and the smash handlers! I'm slowly adding it to everything else. Also, one more thing...

    Lightning Radial Segments!!!!!

    I might get a preview out this week, with a couple of other bug fixes!
    I've forgot to mention that I've fixed airblade breaking blocks it shouldn't, and added some more config options. Additionally, I've added a new stat ctrl for inferno punch, and made it more immersive- strength and powerrating affecting it. Lots of awesome bug fixes!!!!!!!
    I'm still waiting on Mahtaran fixing the packet system before I can do the full release of a5.7!!!

    Also- Calling all artists! I need actual pixel art and aesthetics! My current artists are on indeterminate leave, have left the project, are unable to work, or are just on break (or in some cases, too lazy... *cough* red *cough*)
