    posted a message on Summon Mobs With Custom Heads

    Your question may be a bit off-topic for this thread but I believe every valid question deserves an answer when it will help someone out. Firstly there are several online summon generators that can help you easily craft a command that works with current version. Here's a few I find helpful:

    http://www.minecraftupdates.com/summon-command

    http://minecraft.tools/en/spawn.php

    https://mcstacker.bimbimma.com/

    With those you can summon a mob wearing anything and holding anything.

    Now lets get back on-topic with this tread. I did sort how to summon a mob with a custom head. It works as follows. First use your trusty summon generator above to create your command to summon a zombie with his protection 10000 diamond armor (or whatever blows your dress up) and add a custom player head. It should look something like this:

    summon zombie ~ ~1 ~ {ArmorItems:[{},{},{},{id:skull,Damage:3,Count:1b,tag:{SkullOwner:FatherWh0}}]}

    This will give you a zombie wearing the head of yours truly. Now lets head to freshcoal or the like and grab a command to give a deco-head which we would like the zombie to wear. Here is Santa Claus.

    give @p skull 1 3 {display:{Name:"Santaclaus"},SkullOwner:{Id:"986f0d53-6462-43bc-827f-beba9afdd7f4",Properties:{textures:[{Value:"eyJ0ZXh0dXJlcyI6eyJTS0lOIjp7InVybCI6Imh0dHA6Ly90ZXh0dXJlcy5taW5lY3JhZnQubmV0L3RleHR1cmUvMTRlNDI0YjE2NzZmZWVjM2EzZjhlYmFkZTllN2Q2YTZmNzFmNzc1NmE4NjlmMzZmN2RmMGZjMTgyZDQzNmUifX19"}]}}}

    What you need is the ShullOwner block as seen here.

    You'll need to copy this and past it instead of 'SkullOwner:FatherWh0'. Make sure when you highlight that you skip that very last bracket as it would give you the unbalanced error we call know and love. The end result should look like this:

    summon zombie ~ ~1 ~ {ArmorItems:[{},{},{},{id:skull,Damage:3,Count:1b,tag:{SkullOwner:{Id:"986f0d53-6462-43bc-827f-beba9afdd7f4",Properties:{textures:[{Value:"eyJ0ZXh0dXJlcyI6eyJTS0lOIjp7InVybCI6Imh0dHA6Ly90ZXh0dXJlcy5taW5lY3JhZnQubmV0L3RleHR1cmUvMTRlNDI0YjE2NzZmZWVjM2EzZjhlYmFkZTllN2Q2YTZmNzFmNzc1NmE4NjlmMzZmN2RmMGZjMTgyZDQzNmUifX19"}]}}}}]}

    Now you can summon Santa Zombie.

    I do hope this was helpful to any searching for 'Summon Mobs With Custom Heads' or similar.

    Now Enjoy hanging out with Santa and his elves.

    posted a message on New developer needed for Slimefun

    Slimefun is a relatively popular plugin that adds many advanced features to Minecraft. Some of the additions sf brings to the game include electricity, machinery, new foods, magic, and much more. Think Feed the Beast but without mods required. It accomplishes this modded-style gameplay without a mod being required by creative use of deco-heads, multiblock recipes and some trickery NBT data turning existing items into new mechanics. This is a very advanced plugin with a lot of work put into it by it’s developer. Unfortunately, mrCookieSlime has decided to leave the bukkit community to pursue other interests.

    The developer has made his code available on github and changed the license to GPLv3. This creates a unique opportunity for a new developer to step in. It isn’t every day such an advanced plugin is up for grabs.
    If you have an interest in plugin development or already have your own plugins and are looking for a new project slimefun is worth looking into. It would allow you to step into an already popular project with a sizable user base.
    I would offer a word of caution. Slimefun, along with it's accompanying addons are big. It was quite a load for one person to carry. If you aren't sure if you have the time or energy for it, you probably don't. In fact, this project would probably be better handed by a developer with contributors. Even better would be a small team of devs.

    If you are interested, take a look at the following links. Also, feel free to contact me. One of my servers is a slimefun server and, of course, I have a test server as well. I’ll be glad to help in any way I can.

    Disclaimer: I do not represent mrCookieSlime, TheBusyBiscuit, or Slimefun. I have not consulted the developer previously known as mrCookieSlim before posting this. I am writing this as a concerned server own of a slimefun server who does not wish for the worst to happen, the loss of an awesome plugin that has fundamentally transformed my server as well as many others.

    posted a message on Rube Goldberg Machine Contest

    My server is having Rube Goldberg machine contest. My server, Merchant Villages, is a friendly non-pvp survival server. We have regular survival build contests each with a different theme. I poll players to see what themes that want to build and recently the suggestion came up for a Rube Goldberg machines. This contest has a lot of potential for imagination and creativity so I thought I'd offer it here in these forums. Our contests are
    survival, although I have a fly flag in that region, so you will need to collect resources but the contest will run for a full week, until Friday, June 24th so there's plenty of time. Come join us and bring your imagination.

    Btw, we have craftbook.

    posted a message on World Map Folder Too Large. Delete Region Files?

    Thanks all for the advise. I did delete all region files older than 5 months. With some testing I found it was necessary to delete the structures' dat files (villages.dat, temple.dat, etc.) otherwise structures regenerate without certain features like chests which is no fun. So far all is well. I did, of coarse, keep backups of the deleted files. Thus far no grey cobblestone bunkers have been reported missing.

    posted a message on World Map Folder Too Large. Delete Region Files?

    My world map is 2 years old and has grown to 12 gigs in size. Resetting is not an option since i don't want to cost players anything. Offline editing with mcedit would be several days of down time due to bandwidth where i live. Players are spread out so worldborder trimming won't work. When I look at the region files I see that 2/3rds of them haven't been accessed in 2016. The simplest solution would seem to be to sort the region files by date and delete the old ones. But is this safe? I know that a corrupted map leads to such horrors as a ticking world crash. Does anyone know the risk factor of deleting old region files or if there is a plugin for such a situation?

    Has there been any progress on redesigning your farm? I've got players with farms that aren't doing well. We are about to start redesigning to try to bring the gold back.

    Btw, google searches for this issue currently point to this page so making this the thread for fixing nerfed gold farms in 1.9 might end up being helpful to many ppl.

    posted a message on Commands shouldn't ignore syntax errors.

    I saw a situation where an admin attempted to tp some nearby pigs into a pen. A typo caused every entity on the map to tp into the pen. The damage was so severe the only option they could find was to roll the entire server back a day. Minecraft is the only program I've ever seen that doesn't return an error on syntax errors.
