Also, just re-installed Minecraft and Java both. Same problem. Black screen and freezes. Currently in the process of updating my video drivers. If this doesn't work, I'm going to be furious.

Update : Just tried to play the in-browser version of the game. Same issue, gave black screen, Google Chrome froze and became unresponsive. CTRL, ALT, Delete also gave BSoD this way as well.

Also, I have deleted the entire folder for .minecraft under AppData and tried to just start from scratch, no luck.

Updated flash because it was out of date and causing other issues, just thought it may be worth mentioning.

Also, Minecraft is still having same issue in OP, but now is crashing video drivers and after the game closes (after not responding, or during for that matter) and I try to press CTRL+ALT+Delete, it gives my PC the Blue Screen of Death and restarts.

God I want my minecraft back. T_T Please help.

    Thanks,
    -Jared

Just got my PC back up and running and Minecraft won't work. It goes to a black screen while attempting to log in.

Does anyone know why this is happening yet?

All drivers and flash/java have been updated fully.

    Thanks.

I used this tool today. It turned half of one of my main buildings black like it was night time while it was daylight out. This is in single player. It also deleted all of my supplies in two of my chests. Anyone know why or how to fix the darkness?

I just paid for the full version of Minecraft after playing online for several months. And I'm just wondering, what can I do to make sure that the update is working and all that jazz?

In this video, there was a selection to create a new world in the Nether? I don't have that option..
