Well, I tested H1, and it worked like a charm, no glitchy hunger nonsense, so we're all good! Happy to know that I wasn't the first person to see that, so it could get fixed sooner.

Well, I've returned with another glitch. And not one that was an issue caused by my Windows Firewall this time. Anyway, my Mom and I were playing on 1.8.9 in survival, when we noticed that Mom's hunger was seemingly not going down, until she got hit, then it would shoot her hunger back to where it should be, but it would then start "regenerating" her hunger back up to full, even though we weren't on Peaceful. At this time, I was the one hosting the LAN, so we switched and had her host instead, and at first, things seemed to behave as normal, but after we switched to a different world, I started having a similar glitch, except instead of displaying my hunger where it should be when I got hit, it did so when I lost a point of hunger. Every time I lost a point of hunger, it would show my hunger bar at the proper place, "regenerate," and then the next time I lost a point, it would show it at the next point down from last time, and then "regenerate" again. We tried switching to play on 1.8.8, but the glitch still occurred. For clarification, we were using OptiFine HD G9 Ultra on both 1.8.9 and 1.8.8. Then, we switched to 1.9, without OptiFine of course, and the glitch didn't happen. I switched us to play on 1.8.8 without OptiFine, on the same world as before this time, and the glitch didn't happen. I'm going to try finding the latest version of OptiFine where this glitch doesn't occur. EDIT: Actually, I'll try the preview of OptiFine H1 first, just to see if it's gone in that.

posted a message on Glitched Hunger Bar on LAN in 1.8.9

Okay, so, I figured out that the problem really was with the version of Optifine we had installed after all. I tried going back to 1.8.8, and reinstalled Optifine for that version, and had the glitch again. I tried going and 1.9 just for fun, and the glitch was gone. I tried it on 1.8.8 again, without Optifine, and the glitch was still gone. Well, now I just need to find which version of Optifine is the most recent that doesn't have the glitch. Cya guys.

posted a message on Glitched Hunger Bar on LAN in 1.8.9

First off, my client is technically modified, but it's only Optifine that I have installed, and the modded client support forum seemed to be about problems with Forge, so I think this should still be okay here. With that out of the way, I was on LAN with my mom, and my hunger wasn't displaying properly. Whenever I lost a point, it would show that I lost the point, and then my hunger would suddenly start seemingly regenerating. But the next time I lost a point of hunger, it showed up properly again for a split second, then began "regenerating" again. My mom was the one hosting just now, and we had the same issue a few days ago when I was hosting, except it was on her screen instead of mine. Some clarification: I'm running on Windows 8.1, she's running Ubuntu, and we didn't have this problem until we started playing on 1.8.9, so I have to wonder if switching back to 1.8.8 would fix it. We have NOT tested this on any servers, so I have no idea if it's just on LAN, or if it's on Multiplayer in general. Given that it doesn't affect the host, I would guess that it probably doesn't occur in Singleplayer.

I just want to make some things clear. Please respond with yes or no to the following statements:
    1. With Vanilla and Vanilla, the two of you can connect.
    2. When you have Optifine installed, you do not have Forge installed.
    3. When you both have Optifine installed, neither of you can connect if the other one is hosting.
    4. You have tried to connect directly to the LAN IP : Port Number like I suggested. (JonnyBrando gave an easier way to find this IP in the attachment to his post.)

Okay, my bad. It's not just optifine problems like I thought. For some stupid reason, it's even happening with both of us on regular 1.8.8!

    1. No

    2. Yes

    3. Yes

    4. No

I'm going to try doing that direct connect thing, though I don't know what good it would do because she can see my game in the menu. EDIT: Well, that didn't help. She got the same error as before. EDIT 2: The nightmare is over, and we can connect now, even with optifine on. Turns out it was because of some windows firewall baloney. Thank you for your time folks, your help is probably the only reason I got this fixed.

[snip] Optifine is first of all a client-sided mod. You can join any server that does not run Optifine with a client that does run Optifine. (I do not think you can even install Optifine on a server, but I do not know for sure) Different settings in Optifine should never influence your ability to join any server.

    [/snip]

Thing is, the server is on my computer, and I do have Optifine running, with the performance options that change the way the server itself runs like lazy chunk loading enabled, but since Optifine is client-side, the Optifine on my mom's client doesn't detect that my game has those performance options running. I'm going to try opening my game to LAN with my client running Optifine with the performance options that do affect the server, and my mom running vanilla 1.8.7 and see if the same thing happens, then have my mom open a world to LAN while still running vanilla 1.8.7, and I'll try joining it, still running Optifine on my client to see what happens. Be right back.

EDIT: Okay, test 1 complete, and as expected, my mom failed to connect. She could see the server just like when we both had optifine on, and she failed to connect, just like before. Also, the error message on her screen reads "io.netty.channel.ConnectTimeoutException: connection timed out:" And no, her game didn't crash. Anyway, on to test 2.

EDIT 2: Okay, well this is unexpected. For some reason, my game doesn't even see her LAN game. Well, I just came up with a 3rd test. I'm going to turn off my performance options but keep Optifine on and open a LAN game, while keeping optifine off on my mom's client. BRB.

EDIT 3: Once again, unexpected results. My mom once again fails to connect to my game for some reason. This whole thing is confusing. I think my mom and I are just going to have to disable Optifine when we want to play on LAN.

Try moving the world to her computer and testing that. It doesn't matter if you both have the same settings. You could have your settings maxed out and she could have hers as fast as they can go and it wouldn't matter (you would probably just lag more).

Also check your firewall bc it prevents me from hosting LAN worlds (Try going to your firewall inbound rules (I believe it's Firewall Advanced Settings or something like that) and enabling both "Java(TM) Platform SE Binary" sections for anything).

Sorry for taking so dang long to reply, I posted this and then pretty much forgot about it. Kinda like that Ronco rotisserie oven thing ("set it and forget it").

Anyway, we already tried entering a world on her computer and I couldn't join, so my theory is that it has something to do with the singleplayer only stuff, like fast math and lazy chunk loading, because we both had all of those things on.

My guess is the whatever happened went something like this: Since I had to go into a singleplayer game to open my world to LAN, the singleplayer only performance options stayed on on my client because my Optifine thought it was still a singleplayer game, but my mom had to join the LAN game from the multiplayer menu, so her OptiFine thought that it was a multiplayer server, so it turned off the singleplayer only options on her client, thus causing a disconnect in the way her client and my client process the game, causing her to be unable to join.

I'm having issues with LAN. My mom and I have the same settings, but when I open my world to LAN and she tries to connect, all that happens is it sits for a little bit and then it just times out. Any assistance would be appreciated.

posted a message on Why a Minecraft Sequel Is Needed

How about making it so the game is playable on low-end machines? Seriously, you have to turn your render distance down to 2 to be able to play the game on low end machines, and even then you still get crappy framerates. My computer can run a variety of much better looking games, at a decent framerate, but Minecraft is just super sluggish.

posted a message on CloneCraft [vB3.0.11] MC 1.7.10 - Adds NPC humans for superior anti-loneliness!
I found a glitch. If I insert genes into myself then kill myself their gone right? Wrong. Although gone for the time being, if I close the game, reopen it, and then open that world again, the genes I gave myself are back. Can you fix this please? And maybe add a way to remove genes without killing yourself as well?

posted a message on Your avatar is stuck in an elevator with the above poster's avatar, what do you do?
Being a brown clothed Mario, I jump up to try to break the top of the elevator so we can escape.

EDIT: Changed avatar, so my post is no longer valid. Now then, a new post:

I build a dispenser that gives free soda.

Could you release the older versions? I still only have 1.6.2!
