posted a message on Infinite Arrows for the Bow?
First, bows have durability, so arrows arent infinite..

Second, farming arrows is way more easy than grinding xp, besides theres no 100% chance that you will get that enchatment, it is actually rare as hell.

I dont really think you have a point here, this enchantment is balanced considering the standards given by the rest of the enchantments

I saw in a video that some guy stood on a 5 block tall pillar of dirt and whacked the dragon whenever it came by and softened it up with arrows when it wasn't in range. So the two in combination work ok, but I do guess that sword alone would be kind of silly. That "unconscious" thing seems OP so how about it just does extra damage and/or slows the dragon's movement for a few moments (get more hits/pelt it with arrows)?

I agree, but anyway, the kind of adjustment that the battle needs can be discussed, there are tons of alternatives to improve the use of melee attacks in the battle, what is indisputable and we should all agree is that the battle certainly can be enhanced A LOT

The battle is just an monotonous if you're standing on something and whacking with your sword when the dragon comes by. It's probably more monotonous because a sword-only approach would take far longer. If anything the bow helps it because you can "switch up" your tactics, i.e. choosing to go all bow, all sword, or a bit of both.
    However, using the sword its inefficient, a fully charged bow its stronger, has more range and besides you are more vulnerable to be damaged with the sword while with the bow ,instead, you are virtually invulnerable, so, using the sword its nonsense and unpractical as the battle is now, thats what im complaining;

They could adjust the battle so when the dragon its hit with a melee weapon he is imediatelly rendered unconcious and vulnerable for a few seconds and hitting him with an arrow would just damage him instead, that way using the sword would be reasonable.

or, you know, you can remember to bring your bow.

are we playing the same game here?

*paints his 7th dragon kill marker on his house*

Yeah, the battle its easy, but its flawed and could be a lot better, i felt pretty dissapointed with it; its the final battle, and being forced to only use the bow its a big mistake as that would be like ignoring 98% of the features added in the so called adventure update(you would be only using the charged bow), i mean, i can literally win the battle with nothing more than an a bow an 4 stacks of 64 arrows which are crafted from feathers, gravel and sticks, which are certainly basic resources, ¿what about my lvl 50 enchanted diamond sword which i putted a lot of effort to achieve? ¿What about the enderman, are they that useless and annoying?

Unfortunately the game is just about to be released, i find hard that this feature gets implemented by now.

Perhaps i can make a mod of this

I don't see the point of Mojang doing that other than to feed on our rage.

Indeed there´s no point, but the whole bow thing makes the battle monotonous

Recently i tested the enderdragon fight and noticed that in order to defeat the dragon you are almost forced to use the bow (atleast for destroying the ender crystals); i strongly disagree with this as you are forced to stick to a single fighting style.

"Damn, i should have bring my bow"

I noticed the presence of the endermen to be annoying, and then i came with this idea, ¿why not adjust the towers so people are able to climb to the top by using the enderpearls so we can destroy the ender crystal with close range weapons?

It would certainly make it a lot more fun and would make close range weapons feasible to use AND it would give meaning to the presence of the enderman in the battle as they drop enderpearls thus they would be potential elements to win the battle

Obviously some things would need to be adjusted like the damage you receive when teleporting, the range of the throw ,the design of the obsidian tower top, or making the ender crystal¨s explosion not damage the player. A suggestion of my own would be to add a small platform to the obsidian towers and a spiral stair that reaches the top

You throw the enderpearl just below the torches

You enter and climb through a spiral stairway

You can destroy the ender crystal with close range weapons

To get off you simply throw an enderpearl below, as enderman spawn endlessly you can always gain more enderpearls; And this way you could make a good use of your unused lvl 50 diamond sword.

That way the fight would allow to more ways of achieving the victory, the player will not be limited to only use the bow and the enderman around will have an strategical purpose

Obviously some things would need to be adjusted like the damage you receive when teleporting, or the range of the throw or the design of the top, or not making the top explode when destroyed.

Actually, most of your points are moot. Really, Notch is lazy? He started the game himself, and then hired a team once it expanded past his expectations. Might not be as much now, but now he has a wife and a full company to look after.

It's actually very good that they are making more games. It shows they can handle multiple projects at once.

You know you have no other argument besides that it´s his company and he has the liberty to manage it as he wants to. I have never argue against such point.

You know the difference between being effective and being efficient?

Mojang is effective, they have overall created a good game, but, is it efficient? Do you actually grasps minecraft´s true potential? I doubt it, just take a peek of the mods uploaded, user created... so, you´ve got the answer.

I have realized something. There are, like, 2 or 4 coders in Mojang, and Mojang is tiny in comparison to about everyone else. Why? I see it this way. He wants to avoid hiring strangers. He wants to hire effective and friendly people who shares Notch's opinions. He has realized that surrounding himself with strangers doesn't do him any good. At best, they're just in it for the money, and don't care about quality.

Also, by saying that everyone here is a slave, you are getting too opinionated. Personal offences do no good.

A set of 3-4 code developers with millionaire incomes, hum... that sounds wrong don´t you think?

Companies expand, but is not because of their leaders being lazy and leaving the dirty job to someone else, there´s something called demand, minecraft must have left the indie developed category long time ago, mojang has a contract with microsoft, they have an official release date, mojang has a moral contract with all of us, they are somehow obligated to invest in this game the best they can as the professionals they are suppossed to be, otherwise they are negligent and unwise when making investments, and that´s one the main points being criticized, they are not profitable in the long term. They haven´t finished minecraft and yet they are already starting to develop another game with the same bunch of coders, that´s not very reliable is it?

And perhaps they are allowed to not upload any content until the release date, but with these lousy and slow updates how can i expect a huge improvement with the full release?

Bah, most of you are failing hard, you try to sound smart, but as soon as i see you are defending notch i really couldn´t take you serious.

You are lacking of the most basic trait needed to argue, critical sense. and i can see that is the vast majority which lack of it, now i can see why notch is so lazy, your conformism its certainly intriguing

I will keep it short and leave it to your little brains to figure this out on your own, you said mojang is working REALLY hard, they are spending millions of dollars in developing and as they lack of funds they just can´t proceed(note the huge sarcasm here)

Well, explain me, how is that the modding community has actually achieved more than the owners of the source code themselves? How come they have added most of the elements present in the future 1.8 update already? How? Do these guys have a bank account with more than $10,000,000 and are able to invest in a dev team? Do they actually get paid? Do they have a moral responsability with a huge fanbase? NO, but still, they have achieved more as developers than notch itself.

This forum is filled with nothing more than a bunch of conformist and brainwashed fanboys, which are unable to construct a proper argument to any topic at all, they are automatically set in nerdrage as soon as they read the words "notch" and "lazy" in the same sentence. I pity you, i encourage you to stop posting in this topic, you are just wasting internet resources, perhaps we all are able to spread our opinion, it is everyone´s right, but you have proved me that you have no opinion, you are just ignorant, you are stuck in the obscurantism.
